I love this, how you have her reflecting on everything and how her relationship is broken. Especially because their relationship is definitely screwed up to begin with, and their breaking it was just as strange as it itself was.

You know my heart broke into about a million pieces reading this? But it was really wonderful...wonderfully written and thought out and thoroughly enjoyable to read :)
This bit summed it up with a big, red bow:
[Jinx was still on the wagon, Brandi at large. Marshall was building a life together with Abigail. And Mary felt she was watching life from the sidelines. If her job was her entire life, she decided, there should be more of it. It was time to move on.]
That's how I was feeling that Mary felt a lot of 4th season. And I wonder...had Brandi's wedding gone off without a hitch, would this have been what she'd done?
Can't wait to read more of your work!
