Hmmm... The UnSub could be a dealer. His time off killing could've been spent in jail for possessing and selling narcotics, and if all his victims are druggies, then he could be their dealer.
He might've been a druggie as well, which would explain his slicing open his victims. Knives are generally used in more personal killings, guns are used to distance an UnSub from the victim.
The number 7 is specific to to the UnSub, he and his fiancée might've lived in apartment 7, or it was his fiancée's lucky number, or maybe the amount of times she cheated on him before she left him.
The ring in the victim's gut... The UnSub's ex might've robbed him of a ton if money before she left, including the engagement ring.
The UnSub is angry at his ex, and is using his customers as victims to get revenge. The different genders and races could possibly mean that his ex was bisexual, and cheated on him with both men and women, of all races.
The murders are likely his way of telling his ex exactly what he thinks of her and the people that she cheated on him with/left him for.

Reid being held and injected with drugs was streamed over the internet. Garcia buiried it but the scenes would still be there for someone to find. The agency, not just the unit would have spread rummers about his drug use. In a later episode the FBI director spoke with him at a substaince sapport group. For future referance only. Great story so far. Keep updating.
