Lovely set of chapters in this story. I particularly appreciated your discourse on Immigration, both the institution and its layer upon layer of biased procedure and process, a nice whack at US immigration laws and customs (I say US, as those are the only ones I am familiar with, as a former immigration lawyer.) I don't know if you were trying to do so, but you managed to weave some significant political commentary into your story without the slightest impediment to style, content, and flow of the action, really well done!
And now I move on to the next story. There are some advantages to finding your material a year after it is posted - I never have to wait!

OK my plan to take this slowly has fallen by the wayside - you tell too good a tale! I love every crew member being involved in Mal's rescue and I adore your writing of he and Inara - the misunderstandings and mishaps are so true to the show.
