for Coffees and Cappuccinos

This was one of the more entertaining stories I've read all year! The England-dodge was pretty funny, and the England-catch (perfected by France!) was hilarious and made me unable to stop laughing for several minutes!

I really like your writing style; it's got great humor stuffed into unexpected niches, is flowing and easy to read, and (best of all) it actually sounds like you got into our beloved country's head just for this story!

No flaws in sight; keep up the good work!

GWAH~ I love Spamano, but I read another story with these two together, and I like this pairing now. .w. xD Seriously, this was so cute! I probably said that like, 8 times out loud. Honestly, I can imagine this happening. It's good to be open-minded with pairings (especially in Hetalia) so that you can read awesome stories like this. I really enjoyed reading this! :)

LOOL THAT WAS AWESOME! Seriously, great job. I loved Alfred in this fic, his thought process was great. -THUMBS UP-

This is just incredibly adorable.

I love that America wants to get Romano to notice him as potential 'boyfriend material' before he gets down to the actual 'wooing' (whatever he wants to call it).

The whole coffee rejection/stalking to figure out Romano's preferred drink had me grinning. America's so adorably inept at making conversation. Also, 'a distinct lack of mermaid logos' made me laugh.

I am deeply curious, now, how exactly the heart-in-the-foam cappuccino would go over. I suspect not very well, unless Romano's harboring a secret affection for America that we're not privy to. (Maybe later. Would be cute. Helps that Romano's a huge not-so-closet romantic, too. :x)

Poor Canada, getting roped into things. But it's worth it, for a maple donut. Those things are boss.

The England-dodge. (And the England-catch) XD

Omg, the whole hurry/saunter/rush thing, I have done that. I think every stupid teenage boy has done that, oh man. You know you look like an idiot but man, you gotta catch up to 'em before you lose your chance.

I love that he just jumps out at Romano. All that planning and he didn't think what to say. XD

He's right though, perplexed Romano is cute.

Yes, everybody wants to talk about austerity measures.

Hey, it worked though. Fist pump deserved. *And* it led to more invites, so score one for the hero!

'Romano, distrustful but intrigued by the thought of crude, uncultured America owning an actual espresso machine, agreed to come over'- I love this line.

Too bad it didn't turn out so well, though. (Or did it? Hmm...)

Side note: I love all the references to scenes from romance movies. I'll be honest, I'm not generally a fan of romance movies. I have a very, very short list of those I'll tolerate (10 Things I hate About You is one, along with Meet Joe Black, While You Were Sleeping, LA Story, but I digress); which sucks for me, because Every Single Person among my family and friends, and even male friends, which baffles me, adores them. And drags me along to watch them, despite my complaints and disgruntlement, which really only fuels my intense dislike for them more, which in turn has earned me the reputation of having 'no heart'. Perhaps in response to this, I've been working on a oneshot on and off where America is 'wooing' an extremely reluctant South Italy, and unfortunately borrows heavily from his romance movies, with mixed results (in one scene, he serenades Romano with a stereo ala Cusack, and gets a pitcher of lemonade over his head for his troubles. He comes back and tries again 'A Walk in the Clouds' style, which goes over a lot better). None of which I think is exactly relevant to the story at hand, I just meant to say I love all the references, it's great, and it's wonderful how Romerica authors seem to think alike in some ways, but are nevertheless so beautifully unique in execution.

Back to the good stuff.

Hmm...maybe Romano *does* have a secret affection for America. Either that or he takes his coffee very, very seriously. Or maybe both.

That phone conversation. XD

America's right, international mail sucks.

(I love that he cut out the part with the writing. Those little details are just, brilliant. I love how hopelessly in love he is throughout this fic, and how you show it through his thoughts and actions.)

America *is* pretty good at figuring out mechanical stuff. And that entire section, Heath Ledger references and all, had me grinning like an idiot.

Annnd he's lured Romano back, lovely.

Also, I love your descriptions of the gift espresso machine. And how much America treasures it despite its issues because it came from Romano. And 'Just because it was a little temperamental didn't make it any less wanted.' *hearts*

Oh, man. America's little adventures in cappuccino making pretty much mirror mine when I first started. I had to laugh, it brought back so many memories. 'After a certain size, they all looked tiny' indeed. And heating/foaming the milk? Argh. Just argh.

I love how he coaxes the machine. XD

And then the breathless moment waiting for Romano's reaction.

Which is priceless. 'wrong, so wrong.' indeed. and he's completely right, America has no clue what he's doing, despite what he says. (Well, in regards to coffee. In regards to getting closer to Romano, he seems to be doing it right.)

'I am!' America declared, earnestly, sincerely. He grabbed one of his Romano's hands and added in a quieter tone, 'I am serious.'- Are we still talking about coffee here, America?

(again, I may be reading too much into things, but Romano's reaction makes me wonder. It could go either way. XD)

This oneshot is really just hopelessly adorable and sweet, thank you for sharing it. *hearts*

I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter of 'pomme d'amour', (at your leisure), and excited by the thought of another oneshot in the future!

Aw! I loved this one! It was fantastic;from America's humorous (and sometimes desperate- poor Canada) attempts to woo/court/have at Romano, to Romano's... well, eternally pissed mister-grumpy-pants-ness.

Liked the ending, too. Romano is done. *hearts*

Gotta give 'im props.

Somehow, someway, with the use of ten miracles he pulled through. And for that, I applaud him.

You can imagine my shout of surprise when I narrowed my search to something romantic and completed and this was the first one on the top of the list! I LOVE ROMERICA SO MUCH! AHHH! Seriously dear, this was just so cute to read! Especially seeing how hard America is trying to make the perfect coffee for Romano and nothing is just good enough! (Seriously, American coffee had nothing on Italian coffee!) Overall, this was just amazingly great to read!
