You intrigued me with the title. I had to read this one. I'm a huge fan of Designing Women. Julia was always my favourite character and Dixie Carter was an amazing actress. I was also very upset at her passing. I always wished I could have met her too.

I totally agree about them being similar. I've always thought so too. I think it's the independance and nearly bloodthirsty urge to protect their families. Remember Julia's speech about Suzanne throwing the flaming batons. And the fact they can be gracious, polite and very down to earth- definitely not snobs, but also hold their own in high society.
