Azzie, darling, this was excellent! As always, your power of description was gorgeous. Totally blew me away!
The characterization of both Lily and Petunia was fabulous as well. Petunia seemed to be so consistent; I could definitely see hints of the woman she will become. Her reaction to Lily was very well done; Lily's confusion at her sister's fear was spot on. I just love how Lily still sees her magic powers as normal, even though Petunia is so terrified and confused by them.
"It was an illusion, she thought. If I can wish it hard enough, it will have been nothing but an illusion. It can't touch me." This line sums up Petunia so perfectly. Excellent work!

The description was really pretty, and I think you've got a really good grasp on Petunia's character as someone who's afraid of the unknown.

I /love/ this Petunia. Poor thing, so confused and scared, and Lily just being... Lily. I like how this shows the very beginnings of Petunia's confusion and jealousy about magic, even before what's in the books. My favourite part was the line about the world becoming a stranger, instead of steady and safe. That whole paragraph was beautifully described... though I expect no less from you, of course ;)

Awww, this was sad - I felt so bad for Petunia! And I can really see this fitting in with both their characters; it could almost be a missing moment from the flashbacks to their childhood.

Oh.!That was sooo beautiful.Lily gets the most beautiful moments of magic.
You've captured the sisters so well here: Petunia's fear and her inability to see the beauty of the moment, her fear of the unknown, and Lily who can't understand Petunia's fear.

I love this! I love the idea of Petunia being scared stiff of Lily's first magic, but not wanting to admit it and Lily just revelling in the pretty lights she's making...somehow it just fits their characters really well...good job!

Wow - just wow. This was beautiful and yet ethereal at the same time; your character portrayal was amazing. I could really see into Petunia's frightened, harsh mind that stars shouldn't be falling. It was a very creative idea. Well done!
