This story is nice, though a little confusing (I had trouble not being distracted from it). Some of your plot points are quite thin and I feel you're a good enough author to add more substance and description to your work. Overall, a neat idea and a good base for a much larger project.

I'm loving this story! I'm a little confused though, you said the had made love twice, yet I don't remember reading of their first time. Anyhow, can't seem to put the story down. Great job

i like the idea of the story. i do, but there are a few; not so little, details that you overlooked. don't worry, i had that too.
But to give you an example: Sarah is younger than Kate, then how could Jim have left Sarah and Sarah's mother for Johanna?
and sometimes the time jumps are confusing. But other than that, it's a nice story. i wish i could have come up with the idea before you. (now the writer in me is writing this story in my head, but with other events. Would you mind if i would start a story that had the same beginning but totaly different story line?)

The story has been interesting up until the far unrealistic idea of an officer shoots at Beckett, but Gate - who used to be in IA, says she will transfer her? Hello? How about open an investigation and arrest her as a cop who has circimvented the law?

First of all, her father's name is JIM, not James. Second, the fact that you update like once every three months and then don't even have an author's note to tell us why is really annoying. I forgot what this fic was and had to read it all over again because you rarely update. It's like you don't even care. I'm done reading this.
