While I was reading this, I couldn't help but be reminded of the space fight scene at the end of Star Wars Episode IV. Jerec is like Darth Vader, with Leliana and Clank as the worrisome Princess Leia and C3PO, and Ratchet and Zander are obviously the Luke Skywalkers of the fleet. And because of that, I like it, very much indeed. Good job :)
I look forward to the next chapter and finding out Zander's somewhat hair-brained scheme...
PS - Good luck with the movie idea :P

Slightly typical, hero turned into vanquished villain through overdose of power scenario causing past to repeat itself...?
I'm probably wrong, but I still want a cookie...please?

I haven't actually reviewed this chapter and just thought I would (think of it as a voice from the past). Personally, I think first chapters are crucial to a story as how they are received gives an indication of how well they will do overall, and the author's quality of writing can be assessed. Though I didn't read this when you first posted it, your first chapter here is very enticing. Not a lot of action, but enough to reel the reader in and make them want to read on. Well done :)

Wow, you're fast with these updates. Just the other day I was sitting down with a cup of tea to read chapter 28 and then SHAZAM! Chapter's 29 and 30 pop up in quick succession! But now, I'm all caught up so yeah, onto the actual review(s)...
Chapter 28 Review - Woo! Action duel! I winced with the whole broken ribs thing...not nice. But great sequence. At the end, I thought it was Ratchet leaping to his rescue but...
Chapter 29 Review - It was Angela? Didn't see that coming, and they broke it off? What a shame, but Jerec was a bit of a racist jerk (I wonder why that is...?) so it makes sense. And mysteries abound indeed! Zander sounds like he has a cool subconscious...and who's that in the Court of Azimuth?
Chapter 30 Review - Angela's in a state, understandable, but kissing Zander...seriously? Poor girl, she really must have been in a bad way then... But y'know, Zander, it's ok to fancy a video game character...that's one of the reasons why we write fanfictions! And I like Contessa, I was surprised by her appearance, but it works out. Uh oh, it was Jerec in the Court of Azimuth, and he's gone a bit mental...well, a bit more mental. Wanting Zander dead and bringing to life some great alien fleet to so it? Ok then...
The next few chapters should be...interesting...
