for The Horse that Stole the Boy

I really liked the "what it takes to be a king" bit. Particularly, I liked Lune's answer. Quote from MN that Aslan tells King Frank. I like how you weave the book quotes into places where I'm not expecting (an MN quote in an HHB setting).

Also, I got a chuckle out of Lu thinking Rabadash donkey was adorable! Only Lu could pull that off.

I quite understand your being busy. I keep worrying that I'll get behind on my reading cause I haven't been able to check for updates everyday. Its sorta a fluck that I've happened to check the last 2 chapters the day they got posted.

Got a new dog today after about 6 months without. Our cat has not come to terms with him yet, but we think they'll be fine. Its the 1st day after all.

Class reunion upcoming...I'm somehow stressed about this.

Oh yea ... I think all characters in this chapter deserve a gold star for their restraint when Rabadash was turned into a donkey.

Me nope no gold star as I haven't stopped laughing yet. I'm with Corin on this one with his reaction ... but then I'm not a knight.

Great chapter.

Great fun. :D

LOL! Love it girls.

Oh, Mr. Knight, never argue with a queen! No tolls!

Is that customary? Tamash kinda reminded me of Thumper is Bambi. Not really sure why, he just did. Maybe it was the repeated questions...

Love the discription of the river god's crown. Beautiful!

Su handled the knight thing just great-no concussion! LOL. Although, I'm with Eustuce in thinking...oh, never mind.

Oh, poor Susan. She still doesn't know the answer. Good chapter again. :)

P. S. I think you mean "hail" and not "hale." :D

Never heard of asking someone who been hit on the head with a sword "What is it woman most desire?" but love the answer "Ough," very funny.

Looks like Reep's lessons on the Dawn Treader paid off for Eustace and Tamash comments "Is that customary?" very funny as well.

Great chapter about Susan and her quest.

The poem you used at the head of this chapter is one of my favorites ever. Tennyson's image of the wrinkled sea crawling far below is just spectacular. It's the perfect poem for a chapter about raptors, too. You came up with such a picturesque way for Cor to be brought closer to his mother's memory.

I love the fiddling section! It's magical, like that wonderful Chagall painting. I can imagine a painting of this scene, can't you? Especially with that view of Earth in the distant reaches of Edmund's mind. Narnia should be full of music. And I thought you did a lovely job with Peter and Eva, not too mushy at all. I love your idea (which you mention in your next chapter's A/N) that the Four stay in Narnia for fifty years instead of fifteen. In that case, why wouldn't they live a full life with loving families? It makes perfect sense to me.

OMG bless this fic xD

Love it

This chapter was quite interesting :D I wonder if Corin can only go hunting at night, since he has an owl.

I want to see more Susan scenes, please!

I agree with you about marriage lasting forever and that the vows between a husband and wife are sacred and not to be taken lightly! I wounld't want you to make Peter/Eva look cheap by tossing around marrige proposals. I was just wondering... Also, I didn't realize you were going for a longer Golden Age...

I love the part about Aravis?Horses watching the fireworks and wondering what its all about. I guess I'd forgotten that they haven't met Cor as prince yet. Are you going to set that up? Aslan told them they would have another visitor...I figured it would be Cor.

Also chuckled at Rabadash feeling insulted. I'm glad!

I seem to get a kick out of Eustace flipping out about the Su issue and Su being cool and elegant about it. 4am? Ahh, Lord Eustuce is going to be tired at the end of this...

I read the hawking sequence with keen interest! I think it would be fun to learn. What was the book you read? I got a kick out of Corin using a owl. I should think he'd do better hunting at night...then again, I could see Corin slipping out for a late hunt! Very nicely done about Cor/Corin's mom.

Just one more thing...I wish you'd put in a few lines or Cor/Corin interaction. Brotherly mischif... I like the idea of a bit of comic relief during the serious matters at hand. I feel kinda tense when I read these chapter nowdays... Nothing goofy, but something to break the tension. I think I'm getting way to involed...

HAWKING! WITH EAGLES!

Melikey.

But Susan seems doomed. I'm getting anxious for her.

And yay! Peter and Eva WILL get married. For REAL! And not have Peter disappear in a year! Though I think as High King he could've come up with a more romantic proposal . . . but then again I don't know if that would've been right for Eva.

Oh, I'm glad to know they'll be staying longer. Whew.

Let the happy marriages take place! :D

A quote from you comments to Hannah Skipper "I don't agree with the four children/monarch/people coming back to England after 14 years in Narnia and tend to think they stayed longer, it was known as the Golden Age and the golden number is 50" I totally agree. If there where children from the Kings and Queens then at least they would be older when the Kings and Queens left. OK said my piece.

Lovely chapter showing Cor his mother's merlin so allowing Peter and Edmund to tell him abit of his mother. I get the impression that Cor will start to fly his mother's merlin. Allowing Cor to start settling into his new home and role.

About Aravis, Bree and Hwin glad you'll get them sorted out. I smile when ever I read the part when Bree returns home.

I was just wondering, (after the Peter/Eva talk about Peter worrying about them going home so he delayed proposing) are you going to end this with them leaving? Oh, I hope you don't! I'd like to think that the Four would have more time getting to know Cor/Aravis after the story ends. You got me worried about it with this last chapter...

Another thing. Is the proposal thing going to stick? I like it when the Four are kept single. Once, I read a fiction about Su getting fed up with suitors, so she married Narnia (best way to decribe it). She called it Project Elizabeth (after the Virgin Queen) a declared that doing the best for Narnia (ie her family) was what she would always do. It ended with Lu threatening phase 2 of Project Elizabeth! Did that make sense? I'm never completly sure I got what I was thinking written down properly...

If you do carry the Peter/Eva thing on for a bit, (which I think might okay) put in Su, Ed, and Lu reactions...that would be fun! Of course, it might make it harder to break them up nicely...whatever your thinking of will be great, I'm sure! You've got a proven record of good fiction!

Last thing. I know Bree/Hwin aren't main characters, but I was just thinking that it might be fun to have a sequence of them running into Narnia to find their families. I love watching horses run after they've been ridden for a long time...kicking up they're heels a bit! Home at last!
