It was great, but Kiryu was not Rivera's mother, Never was. His mother's spirit was confined to Kiryu only for a certain amount of time to see Rivera one last time, but after Rivera's Revenge her spirit finally left the Robot allowing Kiryu to become his normal self, So Kiryu is basically his own self now...

Looks great, but Kiryu was not Rivera's Mother, Her spirit was only in him so she can see him one last time, after Rivera's revenge Her Spirit left the Kiryu allowing him to become his old self again... so Kiryu is really himself.
