This was quite a beautiful piece of work. It pays great homage to the books. The last line got a good chuckle out of me. Thanks for sharing!

So do you think one of Clarice's parents was a shallow roller, or do you think she was just lucky enough that Hannibal Lecter plucked her from the sky before she hit the ground? Her offer was a risky one, after all; if he had refused the move from courtly love to erotic love, her steep dive could have been fatal.

What a beautiful poem! Thank you for explaining it in a little more detail to me. It truly is for Clarice. :-)

Oh my flippin' heck! It is an acrostic, and I don't think I ever would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. That's especially embarrassing since I just taught them last week. :o) Oh well, extra gold stars for you!

The first few lines say it all my friend!
What I enjoyed the most about this was the fact that each line seemed to be an homage to the novels.
Now, all of their stars are the same.
Loved it!

Very beautifully romantic :o)
The line about her playing possum stopped me for a moment and made me think. What do you mean here? It was as if she was dead in her former life, seized up in some manner in a career that allowed her no advancement? Or emotionally playing possum, denying her feelings for Hannibal?
Really liked the last line, a nice zinger :o)
