Go Romano! I bet they didn't see that one coming :D loved it. loved it a lot, and I really liked the fact that Alfred was okay with it, you know. So many stories I've seen where he becomes and overbearing, overcontrolling bastard. Its a nice change to see him being protective, but not overly so.

I love Mattie! His thoughts could never be boring to me. Never. I think everyone can relate to him at times, and he's just so awesome you couldn't leave him out. So good on you for not, because I think I would have cried if you had (not that I would have known since, you know, i'm only reading this now but hey, I felt the need to comment.)
