i didn't think it was too dark at all, i thought it was lovely! mean b****es got eaten, enemies became friends,the guy got the girl and i LOVE YOUR MERMAIDS! (even though this story is kinda old by now, im just a little slow on the uptake. i kinda wish Shaun and Des had their own chapter but at least we know how they met :) )

in truth this was entirely interesting and fun; extremely different and yes dark too. although i don't ship altair and kadar, thinking of kadar as a female was cute and easy to picture. i,found,it,interesting how darim used the gloves. it reminded me like he was using the hidden blade. awesome work!

I see what you did here, and in the last two chapters. You're quite clever, aren't you? Well duh, of coure you are. Kadar turning into a woman had me laughing for several minutes straight.
My God you're a very good writer. I love to read your stories as always, and I enjoyed the folklore in this story, and the "darker" side to the merfolk.

Despite the gore, it's quite touching...in a weird sort of predatorial perspective. I can see how societal views change drastically with the merfolk, but it still makes sense to me. This is definitely interesting, and I'm curious to see where this will head. Will we see some canon antagonists in this story?

I was so afraid this was going to have a sad ending. I'm so glad it didn't.
This was just... a very nice read and the whole bit about Altair getting knocked up by Malik at the end HA! So good.
I also really liked the way you worked in the whole thing about where the merfolk came from, Those Who Came Before anyone? Veeeeery clever. Now I want to write some dark mermaids. God damnit, like I don't have enough on my plate as is /sigh

Why does this story have one review?
I can't even properly articulate right now, holy shit.
I was momentarily disappointed that the baby wasn't Desmond (cause that's what I thought till you named him) but obviously it wouldn't but w/e it's just... gooood. God this entire thing is good and dark and yeah, I need to go read the rest now.

I didn't get where it transitioned in some places, but otherwise this was EPIC. LIKE REALLY EPIC. I can't even. It's so amazingly awesome.
