I was so happy when I saw this! :) I thought I'd seen the end of Valen and Ericka, but I'm glad I was mistaken ;)
This is a really interesting story, and I'm really glad you're writing again! I missed this story!

It is good to see Ericka reappear from the mists. She's an interesting and fiery character that I've enjoyed reading previously. Watching her relationship with Valen grow and transform was a great reading experience, to see a man come into his own, to see a romance truly bloom and of course, seeing a demon getting his butt whooped. :D
I like the way this one is setting up, where their strengths will likely play to each other - as it'll be necessary. Going home is never easy. Going home and danger showing up alongside is even harder.
I look forward to the next chapter. Danger awaits and great feats of derring do are almost certain! (Right? Right? There's going to be derring do? Maybe a little buckling of the swash?)

Awesome start to your fic. Also glad to know I'm not the only one doing a fic with Valen. Mine's called Cloudy Sky Rose, rated M if your curious.
Also, Halflings dying/nearly dying, well, least it wasn't a gnome, those guys seem to have alot more bad luck, as squishy as they are.
