I really enjoyed this. Especially the line about how wrong it was of Don and Coop to intrude on the academic workd while 'reeking of the real, dangerous world'. It's a very Don thing to feel, especially before the show when things start to mend.

I liked your story

I'm glad I'm not the only one. That thinks Don's family did hima great wrong.

Oh, poor Don. He timed that terribly wrong. If only there had been no math party, I'm sure his family would have welcomed him into open arms. Nice job, I really enjoyed reading this.

I was happy to see a story from you. I like them. They have something (difficult to find the right word) hard(?). I don't mean that in a negative way. They seem so true. Like the life sometimes is. There must have been some frustrations in Don's life. A reason why he hides his feelings so often behind his pokerface, all caused from his brother's shadow he grew up. This was a very good picture you made. So intense.

Thank you for that and I hope you will get the muse back. The best wishes for your husband, hope he stays well.

Great look at an admittedly uncomfortable situation for everyone. I can see Don being tired, weary, homesick, listening to the siren calling him home. Who could have guessed it would be during a snobbish "math" party?

I agree that there had to be some awkward moments before he settled back into the family's embrace, after all, he and Charlie were both in completely different worlds. The thing is, the family always loved him and that foundation made his eventuall homecoming easier.

Awkward, embarrassing and chaotic, yes, but, oh my goodness, I would have loved to seen everyone's faces when Don and Coop showed up armed and reeking of gas station bathrooms.

Glad to hear your husbands better and I'm glad to see you writing again. This was great.
