Wow, poor Maglor. Sometimes it ems it would have been better for Fingon to put Maedhros out of his misery, rather than freeing him.

Disturbing, brilliant, need I say more? Gorgeous look at the irony of that rescue, as well as the beautiful portrayal of the insanity of the one who we writers classify as the most sane. I'm really tempted to end this review with a smile... so I think I will. :)

Shall all begrudge the freedom that Findekano gave Maitimo, the freedom to be a slave to his oath...Tolkien and his love for irony
This was nicely done!

Wow. Just, wow! That was amazing, Duilin! One of my prompts today is to write a 200-word review, which is quite difficult to do when utterly speechless, but I'll definitely try to put my awe into words. ;)
I usually tend to the think of the Fëanorians as not having gone *terribly* insane until the Oath had begun to do more of a number on them, but this idea makes perfect sense. The constant smiling seems a very in-character, "Maglor" thing for him to do, as well as Maedhros' psychological scarring (which Tolkien does hint at a bit!) manifesting itself like that.
I also loved your imagery! Your descriptions, comparisons, and word choices were all really vivid and powerful. The one that stood out to me the most was when you described the curse as the beam with seven nooses. I also loved the idea of the difference between a scream and a shout, and Maglor's bout of delusion with his own hand. And the motif of the smile, along with Celegorm, Caranthir, and Curufin's reactions to it, was simply brilliant!
You know how I love the angsty, insane fics, too, so that made it particularly delightful! :)
Phenomenal work! *favourites*

5Sadie Sil - English stories
Perfect! I was missing your stories a lot. I had some problems with my computer so I had no internet access. That's why it took me so long to be able to read your stories again.
I confess this one gave me chills. Great. Really great.
love

I'm very sorry; I could not be bothered to sign in, for I have disremembered my password. However, this is a very curious subject you have touched upon. Maglor, whom some people view as the sanest son of all, an...insane Elf who no longer can live without hallucinations?
The italics tell a better story, in my opinion, than the straight print. But both were good. The part about Maglor singing against Maedhros is very symbolic to the former; I quite liked the connotation beneath it, as if this were all program music; music that tells stories, like the Moldau by Bedrich.
Well done.

Ah, the drama. I thought this was about Curufin when I read the title, but you made it fit Maglor well. I loved the additional angst and horror written in with the italics.
"Two voices screaming.
Is one of them mine?
I do not know."
That just sent shivers through me.
"He's gone mad; I know it," said Caranthir flatly, turning away as Celegorm stood in the doorway, remaining and scrutinizing my expression.
"Why are you smiling?"
That was good, very good. I loved the picture, the idea. I loved the madness that was with this.
