I really loved this whole story. You did such a good job with the characters and it was really nice to have a such a well written story that wasn't Charlie-centric. As much as the love the Charlie character in the series, I must admit I truly wish the show had centered more on Don and Colby and the rest of the FBI. Don was my favorite. Great job and I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.

Thanks for posting this story, it was well written. My only real complaint is one I've already noted, Colby never worked for the NSA. The NSA is part of the Defense Department. They listen to, and analyze, foreign commuications. They do not have armed agents. And despite what most Numb3rs fans seem to think, the FBI is a LOT more powerful and important than the NSA.

Thanks, really good story. I like the Colby character anyway but you wrote him really sympathetically and it was easy to picture the story through his perspective. I'll keep an eye out for your next story!

I'm sorry I haven't reviewed before this. I really do like your story, I think it's very thoughtful and sensitive. I like how supportive the Eppes family is toward Colby. However, there are two (minor) mistakes, that you probably can't really change now. At the time of 'Trust Metric' Don and Robin were no longer together. In fact, Don was dating Liz. And Colby never worked for the NSA. He was counter-intelligence for the DoJ. (I'll admit, neither of these points actually affect your story.)
