for A Few Simple Steps

That was heart warming and I am still trying to figure out why Dylan is Dynala is this is an AU I am thinking it must be some kind ofAU or wondering and scratching my head. I will read larger fic by Jasper is a manly man and figure that out, i suppose. Still smiling and scratching head.

ooh, this is sweet!

I do love the sprinkling of Gaelic words and phrases you sprinkle throughout your writing. I'm trying to do the same without overdoing it for my current projects. I hope I can do as good a job with spicing up my writing without dumping the entire jar in by accident. _

LA, I completely adore this! I was grinning the whole time I read it. You're amazing! Thank you so much, really.

First, I loved how you had Nuada feeling all tense and angry in the beginning, only to have his bitter inner monologue interrupted by cute baby Liam. Good, perfectly timed reminder of what life's all about.

I chuckled when Nuada thinks, "I have no idea how she keeps up with this kid." Nuada definitely would have been out of his comfort zone when Liam was born. I just picture him alone with Liam (because Dynala had to go heal someone or something) chasing after the toddler, being all, "Will you just hold STILL? This is exhausting!"

Like father like son - they're both so stubborn. And Liam seems to be a pretty quick learner, too. At about what age do you picture Liam in this? Liam and Nuada are both really good at all things physical, so do you see Liam as an early walker? I loved Nuada's confusion when Liam is "practicing." Also, I like how affectionate Nuada is toward Liam - not ridiculous, but enough to be realistic and so very sweet. Considering Nuada's hurtful past with his father, I think Nuada *would* be sure to tell his son that he loves him and is proud of him.

First word and first steps on the same day! Way to go, Kid! The line "It was still enough to make Nuada's chest tight with something to great to be mere happiness," was very touching and, I think, very true.

Liam is adorable - the kisses, telling Nuada he loves him... you almost made me cry at the end; even Nuada was getting teary-eyes, which I loved. Also, you portrayed Dynala very well.

"Yes, he had more than simply his kingdom to protect now. He had something far more precious. It had just walked right up to him and stolen his heart all over again with a few simple steps." This was the best conclusion ever!

This was amazing, and I can't thank you enough!

Wow, Nuada gets a son, cool!

And a wife, too, spiffy, not a bad thing to have before... well everything from having a thing for your twin to unleashing forest gods and killing your dad, or some variant of that, etc. etc.

I find it an odd mix of amusing/interesting in varying degrees and nuances when I pass over a Prince Nuada story that has him looking for the third crown piece for centuries in advance of the movie, because in the behind-the-scenes Guillermo del Toro says "the humans are pushing and pushing until the prince finally says 'no more'" and then sets things in motion to wage war or humanity, and the bedtime story at the start of the movie says that since Nuada didn't have any faith in the promises of man he went into exile "vowing to return the day that his people needed him most," so those two major things point to a long gradual buildup and then a breaking point, as I see it, and seeing this alternate take in the fanfiction realm is like trying a different dish. Not bad, just different... At least that's what the timeframe of this fic looks like. Am I wrong?

Not sure about the novelization, though, I'm still in no position to get my hands on it. :P Oh well, I'm too busy writing/reading and having fun for that right now anyway.

HA! Cute little kiddo!

"It was still enough to make Nuada's chest tight with something to great to be mere happiness." Did you mean "too great?"
