More Shel Silverstein! Castle is SUCH AN ADORABLE DADDY. All I could think for most of this was "Awwwww" EXCEPT. EXCEPT. Then you pulled out the daddy/daughter convo of stories and writers and "It's never just a story" and I love that, always, and this such a unique way of bringing it up. And then it's "You make it quiet, Daddy" and MINNIE and it's back to "Awwwww." This is what you've reduced me to, Joy. Incoherent aww-ing. Thank you.

This was absolutely adorable! So many images here to love and savor. I loved the little details on how and where he woke up, snuggled against Kate's body, and you captured that sleep-warm coziness so well that you have when you wake up with someone you love. What also came across really well was that magic, that sense of wonder that Lilian had, all bright-eyed and excited, telling her story, the whole experience of it. I really love how she seems a combination of mom and dad - with her storytelling ability, the never-quiet mind, yet she has a level of consideration and concern (when she worries about his not getting sleep because of her) that I can see coming from Kate.

This was very sweet.
I really enjoyed how Lilian went to get her father out of bed to tell him a dream she had. The way you had her story, you could tell she was Castle's daughter.
The ending was great with him telling the little girl about how he met Kate's cat, a kitten at the time, Minnie.
