Oh my God. It's taken so long for me to get back to my computer - I'm sorry, I was on a trip to Rwanda for just over two weeks...
You finished. Meaning no more updates. In a way, of course, it's nice, because that was a very beautiful ending (thank you for that, by the way), but I'm also a little nostalgic already. When I think back to the beginning of the story, and the ending, and everything that happened in between, it feels a bit like this was a journey you made that you decided to let the readers share with you. I want to thank you for that privilege - and it really was a joy to read. You are very gifted.
But alas, the journey has come to an end. I say farewell to you, dear author - not that you shouldn't expect a comment or two on some of your other stories, because I've taken a look ant some of them, and they're fantastic, but it will not be like this. It will not be a running commentary with a review for almost every chapter. It just won't be the same. So thank you, all the best of luck to you in your future literary escapades, and goodbye.
PS. Okay. Now that I've got the sad part over with... OH MY GOD. Will was so cool in this! I went a tad bit crazy over his little Lizzie speech. That was some good stuff! And then, I also liked the parallels between this and the actual ending of COTBP, what with her telling her father what she wants and all. And oh, the Commodore... always have a little tear to spill on his behalf. Poor guy. How was he supposed to know that the Elizabeth he so admired was a character created only through necessity; the pressure of society and a loving parent? And of course, at some point, I'm going to have to get to the good stuff. Jack and Lizzie FOREVERANDEVERANDEVERMORE. Yaaaaayyyyy. This makes me so happy that I cannot even fathom it. You should have seen me after I finished reading. I was jumping up and down. Seriously. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this is something that I would kid about.
They both beamed. Another quick, burning kiss. The Pearl cut through the waters like a hot black knife.
This.
This.
This, my dear, is the stuff.

Man, did you ever scare me with that last chapter! So, so glad you made it come out right in the end!
This was quite enjoyable. I'm glad you wrote it, and thank you for sharing!

I liked this chapter, in large part due to the Wuthering Heights quote.
You could always excuse it historically by saying that Emily Bronte incorporated an old traditional saying that had been around for a hundred years at least. Who knows? She might have done! :)

sad to see this over so soon, lol! Have put that wise children song onto my itunes ready to go on my ipod as it is really quite a song, definitely suited the mood Jack was in at the time. I like your use of music to go with the story, it adds more to the feel I think and since my imagination doesn't need a lot of encouragment to think visually ... it can better make us readers feel IN the story too. Thanks. Have enjoyed your interpretation. HeatherL

Wow, great story so far. I really love it. It's beautifully written, and the 'Wuthering Heights' line was great. I also love the deep and desperate love Elizabeth has for Jack.
I sort of think that Jack should die. Don't get me wrong, he's my favorite 'Pirates of the Carribean' character, but I think it would add a ton to the story. Bringing everything to a sudden and heartbreaking end, at least for Lizzie. I don't know, just food for thought.
Anyways, update soon!

What a horrid place to leave us at! What a fun story. Some things are a little difficult to follow but still enjoyable. Looking forward to more. Can't wait to see Lizzy with Jack on the Pearl.

Wow. Oh, wow. What was I expecting? Can't remember. This was not it.
Even though, technically, their reconciliation and the subsequent (attempted) rescue were logical moves, you found a way to make the events seem completely unexpected. I tip my hat to you. Literally. Strangely enough, I decided on utter impulse to wear a bowler hat today. Whaddayasaydathat?
Okay, well. Okay. I'm sorry for the lack of reviews for the last few chapters, but I was on family vacation, and I figured that, since this story is finally getting all the credit it deserves, two teensy weensy reviews wouldn't be missed.
Anyway, here goes:
The kissing was nice. No explosions in my head, or anything, but I liked it. The Wuthering Heights line, however, was extremely fitting. Good decision. Screw historical accuracy! (Okay. Fine. I didn't mean that.)
Then the whole dream-poem-chapter-thingy (I'm not that original with names...). That sorta kinda sorta BLEW MY MIND. WHAT THE-? Were you trying to scare the living hell out of me? Of course you were. Stupid question. It half-worked. Okay. It so worked.
But it was just a dream. Huh. Before I realized what that thought even meant, I was like: "Lame. A tragic ending would have been so amazing!" But then I understood what I was thinking. And I can't believe I actually thought that. Oh my God. Don't make it a tragic ending. Please. I mean, sure, tragic endings really are amazing, but in this case, I just don't think I could bear it if they were separated forever. Please, no. Not a nice thought. Alas, I shall cease to go there!
Then again, this whole chapter was about the impending execution, so yeah. Couldn't really escape the thought for long. But of course, there comes the unknown rescuer! Yaysies. And also, I'm loving Lizzie. The whole goddess-slash-empress thing was impressive. Might I say empowering? I might. And I do not say that a lot, I really don't.
As for Jack's knight in shining armor (provided that the "figure" is actually there to save the beloved scoundrel, which I choose to firmly believe), fingers crossed that it's Will. I was just starting to like him! Why did he have to go and doubt the Sparrow-Swann relationship? Darn you, William!
Long review, yay! I hope you enjoyed it, as a downsized reflection of my appreciation of the story. Thank you for the fast updates, that was cool. Not that it really mattered, since I just read all of it in one go, but still. It's always cool.
P.S. The soundtrack. Haven't commented on that for a while. Didn't really knock me off my feet for some of the last chapters, but 'Duduk of the North' was really great. Possibly the second best accompaniment yet. But not number 1. Come on. 'Sail' was so incredibly dark and sexy and oh my God. Nothing can compete. It just fit perfectly to the scene. Ah, Chapter... what was it again? Single digit. Back in the day. Anyways. That even became my favorite song for a while. So yeah. My point. Right. No competition. Yeah.
Love, Type.

Whoa, this chapter. That was amazing! The way you described her sobbing in her bed was great, and the conversation with Will was SO well-written! Just all of this was! The way you write emotions is practically perfect! And when you described her realising that she had no power over the citizens, that was almost a reality-check, even for me.
Gahh, the end! GO, WILL, GO!:D
Another WONDERFUL chapter! Keep 'em coming! Thanks so much!
Much love
