Hello!

FANTASTIC fic! I enjoyed every word of it.

First off, great starting line. It's really nice when the title of a fic (or book) is slipped in somewhere.

Coruscant cantina? *shakes head* Bad things happen in Coruscant cantinas; the Undercity is a dangerous place. But a cantina is most certainly the idea place for two 'low - lifes' like Cad Bane and Aurra Sing to meet.

I found the idea that Embo's hat is a *weapon* to be quite original. Maybe I should get myself a hat like his. *snickers* And yes, Cad Bane would not be Cad Bane without his hat. That hat is a very important part of his personality - of his 'bad boy' aura. Actually, I'm thinking that hat has a personality of its very *own*.

Poor Todo; how degrading it must be for a techno service droid to have to play the part of a music box. *giggles*

Wow...Todo has had to play that song *six* times? Cad Bane must really like that song. In fact, at this point, he reminds me of myself. If I really get a song 'stuck in my head' I can play it all day.

'as warmhearted as the Hoth system' Very nice figure of speech. Bane's tone must be as cold as Antarctica.

'Beautiful friendship,' indeed? *raises eyebrow* From what I know of 'friendships' between bounty hunters (save Jango Fett and Zam Wesell) one can consider himself lucky if the 'friendship' ends without either bounty hunter shooting at the other or holding a blaster on them at least *once.* But then, I don't watch TCW, so I don't really know the logistics of Bane and Embo's 'friendship.' Looks like it is ending well, at least.

I'm sure Bane never lacks for work...he must be in high demand, being the highest - ranking bounty hunter since Mace Windu chopped off poor Jango's head at Geonosis.

I sympathize with Cad Bane and Embo...I don't like waiting either. Unfortunately for my flawed human nature, one of God's favorite tools to teach his children (or so it would seem) is (*)waiting(*). (sigh)

A quick in - and - out would be best for Bane's security, I'm sure. The higher - ranked a bounty hunter is, the more people want him/her dead.

Mid - afternoon is probably one of the safest times to be at a bar. Night and very early morning...dangerous. Bad things happen in the dark.

"accidentally bump"? Oh, really. I think Aurra Sing does few things *accidentally*, and she most certainly did not bump into Bane 'by accident.' And she is not 'sorry' for 'bumping' into him either.

In a creepy, strange way, Aurra Sing is pretty, and looks like BaneProxy-Connection: keep-alive

s checking her out. I like the Bane/Sing pairing...it has more than a bit of potential.

Being pickpocketed at a sleazy Coruscant cantina definitely is not an uncommon experience, but it must certainly be a new experience for Bane, the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy. Most people would probably be too scared of him to even get within 10 meters of him, and they would definitely be too frightened to *pickpocket* him. But not Aurra Sing.

Making Cad Bane angry is not a good idea...if you're the average person. But then Aurra isn't average. According to her, 'there is no one else like [her] in the galaxy.'

Seems like Aurra can play the seductress very well when she chooses. Oh, and Mr. Rodian? You are dramatically shortening your lifespan with every deathstick you smoke. Therefore, I advise you to quit smoking.

*chuckles* Oh, poor Mr. Rodian. Aurra has pickpocketed another guy, and unlike Cad Bane, Mr. Rodian is not going to realize what's happened until much later. And when he does, her most likely won't be able to figure out who did it and he *certainly* won't be able to find who did it. If he did, it would not end well...

Mr. Rodian's all swoony b/c of Aurra. *snickers* I do, however, find the thought of a Near-Human/Rodian pairing rather disturbing.

'a homely open doorway in a secluded corner of the cantina' is definitely the ideal place for two persons like Bane and Aurra to meet. Nice and quiet, and hopefully no one will get hit accidentally if the...*meeting* turns a bit sour.

Bane and Aurra's banter was very amusing. Excellent writing. Their talk came off as edgy, with that 'feel' that you get when two lethal people are meeting. "Slim" is certainly an apt nickname for Aurra.

With the way Aurra agreed to give Bane back his wallet, I'm wondering if she didn't *orchestrate* that meeting. Stealing Bane's wallet is definitely a sound way of getting his attention, and I wonder if Aurra recognized Bane from "wanted ads" or something and figured that a job from him or a partnership with him would be profitable to her.

A wallet for cigarettes? Hmmm. I don't think smoking is good for your health either, Aurra. But then, you're some weird hybrid, so it may not really affect you.

Aurra can be quite the tease. She *must* have known that pulling a wallet out from, ah, *that* hiding place would be a turn-on for Bane.

Yes, Aurra is no ordinary girl. Only a few people would be able to steal from Cad Bane the way she did and get away completely unscathed. And since Bane is looking for fresh talent for his next job...well, looks like a partnership is in order.

'She was probably holding suspicions, but she should know that if he had wanted to he would have already killed her.' *cough, cough* Uh, Bane, I admire your confidence, but this *is* (*)Aurra Sing(*) you're talking to here.

I *really* enjoyed Aurra and Bane's talk, how they check one another out and then jump right into things. It takes a long time to obtain the trust of a bounty hunter like Sing or Bane, but partnerships between low - lifes seem to take place quickly, as long as the right amount is offered and the conditions suit both parties.

It seems like most bounty hunters drink quite a bit. Maybe that's part of the reason they seem to tend to die young.

'Upstairs' *chokes* Are they just going to talk, or are they going to do...*that*? If it is the latter, that is, ah, a bit *quick*...but then things often happen kind of fast in the Undercity. *cough*

Finally, pay is here! However nice that may be (after all, Bane's only true love is credits, [or so it would seem]) I think the best part of the afternoon for Bane has been meeting Aurra. I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between them.

Seeing Aurra Sing go to Bane's rescue would be fun (I plan to read your other Bane/Aurra one - shot soon).

Bane is a man, after all. Most men act a wee bit funny around pretty girls.

I really enjoyed this take on Bane and Aurra's first meeting. I can't help but think that Bane ought to be a little more cautious around Aurra, but then I suppose he is only mortal (albeit a highly dangerous kind of mortal).
