I'm sure a lot of people told you this so far, but this is an amazing fic. Although I usually stay away from any kind of angst, especially if it involves a character dying, I couldn't help myself. I though it was a pretty interesting but again full of emotion. I do hope you're planning to write more because it would be a shame for the talent you have to go to waste.

Where'd you find the name Kako? Sounds kinda like a mixture of Mako and Korra. Very vaguely though.

This is absolutely beautiful. I applaud your writing talent and your fanfiction debut (this is seriously your first?), as well as your abilit to reduce me to a gross sobbing mess.
I really like your characterization of Asami; in most fanfiction of this genre, she's kind of a background character or extra, but you really gave her a good role and kept her in character.
