So glad that you've found time to post another chapter!
Galadriel was beautiful and fearsome in her modified battle gear. Wow, I was mad at the dumb Easterling who dared mock Celeborn. The battle was unexpected and unsettling - that gang must have been pretty full of themselves to invade Lorien. I continue to like Oriel...he's one of my favorite original characters among all the stories I've read.
And my goodness the public breakup surprised me. But it certainly does explain Arwen's attitudes toward Haldir in "Heartsong."
I look forward to finding out what else you have planned for this story!

Wow...I feel bad for...just about everybody in this chapter! Poor Orophin to lose his pets to those naughty twins! And while I love Oriel and Muriel together and cannot fathom why either of them ever thought for a moment that they could be with anyone other than each other, I also kinda hate her for leading on poor Haldir. Your portrayal of the interactions between the three brothers continues to be just wonderful. Looking forward to the next update!

I really like Haldir's teaching style, he is very patient and creative in his lessons. You wrote the account of Rumil's wrestling a fish so well I could completely imagine it. :) I find myself once again wishing I could hear Muriel sing as I am sure she is indeed a beautiful songbird. I was absolutely tickled to find that Muriel is finally figuring out that Oriel is in love with her, even though her motives are rather selfish.
I did feel sad at Haldir being the one to compromise totally with his dreams while Muriel is unwilling to do so, perhaps because she really is not in love with Haldir at all but has not yet realized that she is in love with her long time best friend.

Haldir picked up an arrow and spun it in his fingers a bit before saying, "Maybe, together..." he looked up at her and said, "new dreams can be discovered?"

On one hand I was utterly charmed by Orophin spending months wooing rabbits to impress Anaria and then utterly shocked by his brazen and very inappropriate behavior with his beloved, and a little surprised that she encouraged it. Does she not realize she is playing with fire and tormenting Orophin at the same time. I would not be surprised if they unintentionally bond with that type of behavior. His immaturity was really apparent with his boasting about his exploits, evidently his father must not have given him a very good version of "the talk" as he is clueless about respecting the elleth he purports to love. :(
My heart went out to Haldir who really was very sweet and not arrogant or conceited as he often appears, I did not think he did or said anything inappropriate to Muriel for a change. But I felt sad for him as all his dreams do not mesh with Muriel's, although I know his own destiny takes a different path.

My heart breaks for Oriel, to be so in love and then asked by Haldir to give him courting tips and relationship advice to woo the very elleth he desires and to have to hide his love from Muriel. :((
Haldir whom I truly adore did not rise in my estimation in this chapter, stealing Oriel's simile which obviously Muriel was entranced by was not a noble deed. I trust that he will redeem himself further on.

I have fallen in love with the character of Oriel, and find myself nearly saying Haldir who? :) Oriel has many more facets to his character at this point. One minute he is boldly standing up to Haldir who even at his young age must have been intimidating, then we see him putting Muriel front and center and trying to make her big day very special. Then he is a bundle of nerves and a weeping mess. I have started to root for him to win Muriel's heart. She of course is currently blinded by Haldir and oblivious to the ellon who truly loves her.:(
I thought it was very sweet to have Rumil giving relationship advice, kind of like the blind leading the blind. :) I loved how he thought the courtship rules were reasonable expectations, Haldir did not exactly agree. lol Since Arwen was the most beautiful elleth to exist since Luthien no wonder Rumil instantly became enamored and could barely squeak out a rational sentence in her exalted presence. I liked seeing Arwen be so kind and sweet to her old friend Oriel. :)

An interesting chapter. I confess to being dimmer than usual as I just finally remembered who Muriel ends up marrying. So it will be interesting to watch that play out. I had to chuckle at Haldir's raging ego, to think Galadriel may have called him into see her and Celeborn because all those ellyth are attracted to him. LOL And Muriel has quite a project on her hands, kind of a reverse Eliza Doolittle, Haldir's future wife should be quite grateful that somebody else had to do all the hard work of whipping him into shape and she could just reap the rewards. :)
