I see bad things happening to Shane. He's getting more and more crazed with each chapter and it is bound to reach a bad end. I mean, I get what he's saying. They really don't know what will come of this, or whether Daryl will fully 'turn', so to speak. But he's going about it all the wrong way...which is totally in character, so nice one!
'"Look, lemme tell you—"' - totally reminds me of the 'Shane telling you' gifset on tumblr! Had to smile at that.
The first part in italics...so good. And totally foreboding.

I'm so glad you're still working on this, as it's wonderful. Poor Daryl. Poor Carol! I'm glad she's working on becoming a better shot though, no matter what Shane the Dickhead thinks. I'm glad Rick supports them both. But how hard it must be for the Daryl and Carol, now Daryl's half dead and seemingly sinking. For him to be shunned and feared. For her not be be able to heal him, and fearful that she might lose him altogether. Ugh.

Hooray! Update! Loved it! Loved Shane going off-made me realize I kind of miss him. He's so cruel here: *"Man, look at you! Ya seriously gonna stand here and tell me it's a good idea to let an infected, half-dead geek give Carol here shooting lessons? Just let em' stand out here and waste precious ammo, run the risk of bringin' another herd on top of us, just so you can make Daryl feel like he's still human?"* And sooo Shane. I'm sure he's also verbalizing some of Daryl's own insecurities.
And also, Daryl touched Carol! *Runs around room, arms flailing.*
Okay, now I want another chapter!

LOVE! I can't say enough how much I love that Carol is not only not afraid of Daryl, but still greatly affected by him, half-walker or not! You've really set up the animosity Shane feels toward Daryl so very well. You still have this vague sense that he is reacting like this because he's afraid for everyone else, but also that he's just unhinged by now and everyone is biding their time until he loses it completely. I, for one, am seriously looking forward to when that happens! As always, hoping for an update ASAP ;)

So excited to see a new chapter of this. I love the original concept behind this story and seeing how its all progressing. Daryl being an outcast in a sense that's beyond what he already expectd and maybe representing some kind of mutation of the virus we haven't seen yet. Shane being his usual hothead self and Rick and Carol being the ones who stand by Daryl, interesting how it translates in this new scenario. Looking forward to more
