Eerie... I've got to say, the part that hit me the most was Cheese's presence. It was just...so innocent in such a violent scene. A beautiful touch for such a sad end.

It was... well sad and emotional and all that, superbly written, just one thing:
The kind of grief you described would have taken a good few minutes, now I'm no Sonic expert, but it really sounded like they were in or at least near a city, Sonic could have easily at least GOT Tails to a hospital, he would at least have tried.
Just pointing out a plothole, its still a good fic though.
