Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note or any of the characters.

A/N: Herro! I'm back again. This story is going to be a collection of one-shot stories featuring Matt and Mello. (Hence the title lol). I hope you enjoy the first chapter. I apologise with the utmost intensity if it doesn't live up to your expectations.

Beautiful-

Matt watched attentively as Mello practically waltzed into their room, gracing the wooden floor with his footsteps.

Sure the Blonde could be mean, aggressive, bossy, cold, stubborn… And many more negative cruel things, but to Matt, he was perfect.

The cherry-headed boy remembered all the times that Mello was spiteful and mean. All the cold-hearted words he spat, could make anyone flinch at the best of times… Except one person. Near.

Near wouldn't react in the ways everyone else would react. In fact, he didn't react at all. He'd just sit their and play with his toys until Mello finished ranting, and then, look up at him with that robotic unemotional expression, which he usually wore on his small pale face. That made Mello hate him the most. The fact that he couldn't get a reaction infuriated him to no end. That and always losing to him in exams, essays, competitions, remarks, everything… Even though he studied so hard, most probably harder than Near, he always came second.

Everyone in the Wammy Household saw and portrayed Mello as a bully. They thought he was a spoilt child, who stomped his feet around and threw things as people if he didn't get his own way.

No-one understood Mello.

No-one understood Mello, except for Matt.

Matt had been friends with Mello since he was five years old, and he was now fourteen. And, when he was younger, even though he was friends with Mello at the time, he always felt that he didn't know or understand Mello enough to interact with him properly. As a result of this, Matt would play his games from afar, but would always secretly pause his game and turn around when no-one was looking, to observe the blonde-headed fury. Whether it be when the blonde was shouting and throwing things at people, studying, sleeping, eating, or silently reading, Matt would watch all.

From the day they met, Matt thought Mello's appearance was beautiful. His face, his hair, his eyes… They were all so delicate that Matt thought they could break like a mirror at any second. And that's when Matt noticed… They already were… When he looked into Mello's eyes, truthfully and without fear for the first time, he noticed they already were broken… This boy… This beautiful, fiery, aggressive, impulsive, hot-headed boy, was suffering, or had suffered, on the brink of misery.

Matt then realised why he liked to fight, over power and intimidate people. It was because he had been intimidated and abused himself… And ignored.

Matt remembered asking Mello about his parents, and in reply, Mello muttered the word "dead" and that his father was an "asshole" or something of the sort. Mello liked to draw attention to himself through making people fear him and intimidating them, because he never got any attention himself.

"Look at me… Look at me… I'm right here… I'm right here, so... Please, look at me!"

Up until this very day, Matt observed Mello's actions, facial expressions, everything, and tried to understand the reason behind them. He heard Rodger mumble something about "behavioural problem" and "conduct disorder". Okay, he could see where Rodger was coming from with that, Mello probably did have a few symptoms for conduct disorder, and his family members may have possibly had it when they were younger too, but Rodger shouldn't just simply shake off Mello's behaviour due to some mental illness. He should try to understand the roots for Mello's behaviour, embrace it, and help him get better.

From that day forth, Matt liked and embraced every aspect of Mello. He found, without realising, that he could interact with Mello better than anyone in the whole wide world, and that's what made both boys special to each other.

Sometimes when Mello shouted at Near, Matt couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the albino. But when Mello turned around and gave him and only him that loving smile of his, his pity for Near soon vanished.

Mello loved and thanked Matt for being there for him.

Matt thanked Mello in the same way. He liked Mello. He liked him a lot. No… He loved Mello!

Matt then snapped out of his train of thoughts and memories. He noticed Mello was still in the room rummaging around in a draw for something. Matt watched the way his hips swayed gently from side to side as he changed his foot stances over and over again, totally focused on trying to find whatever it was he was looking for.

Matt simply couldn't resist. He crept off his bed and tip-toed over to wear Mello was. Slowly, he reached out and wrapped his arms around the blonde's waist and pulled him into a gentle embrace from behind.

Mello had apparently found what he was looking for, but immediately dropped it after feeling Matt's warm arms wrap around his waist. He immediately flushed with embarrassment.

"M-Matt!"-

"I love you. You're beautiful and you make my life worth living. I love you so much, I could die!"

Mello then turned around in Matt's embrace and planted a soft kiss on his lips.

"Please don't die" Mello said, but felt pleased that Matt cared so much. His heart-warming statement really made his day.

Matt looked into Mello's healing eyes, and softly said;

"I'll try not to"…

Maaaahhh. There you go, chapter one. =) When another idea for a scenario involving Matt and Mello comes to mind, I shall write another chapter!

This chapter is basically introducing the relationship of Matt and Mello…In my head anyway. LOL. Sorry if it was boring. The next one I write shall be funnier!

Conduct Disorder: A mental disorder where you lack empathy, you like hurting others, you like feeling the sense of power, aggressiveness etc… Mello seemed like he had a few of these symptoms. You have to be 15 or under to have conduct disorder, but don't worry, most youths with cases of conduct disorder have most of their symptoms, if not all of their symptoms, vanish when they reach the age of a young adult. However, if they do not disappear, then the youth will likely turn into a sociopath/psychopath. Don't worry, Mello may be aggressive when he's older, but he's definitely not a psycho. Sorry if this offended anyone by the way. It's just I've been watching an anime called Monster, which is amazing, and the antagonist is a sociopath, so… I've been interested in it lately.

If you want more info on C.D, it's on Wikipedia, look it up.

Thanks for reading! Hope you liked it! If you didn't well…Y'know. That just means I'm a bazaar authour. Chocolate Melons if you review! –hugs-
