Chapter Eight

Raven had come to after Cardinal's fire freed her, and noticed that Cyborg was staying out of the fight. She took this opportunity to weakly sneak up behind him and used her powers to open his disc drive and remove the tainted disk.

Cyborg shook his head like he was shaking off a kick he took.

"Oh man, I feel like I went five rounds with Slade." Cyborg stated as he looked around. Just as his sights hit Raven, she started to collapse, but Cyborg caught her.

"You'll be fine now, Father reprogrammed you, but I was able to remove the disc he used." Raven remarked as she stood by Cyborg.

The fight was really starting to turn in favor of Cardinal, as Father was taking fire punch after fire punch from Cardinal. The reason for such strength is that she was fighting for her friends, new allies, and brother.

Cyborg had helped Raven over to Robin and Beast Boy so she could heal them. As Raven was healing Robin's injuries, he was watching the fight and beginning to worry if Cardinal could handle using her power like she was.

Numbuh 4 was helped up by Numbuh 1, and as he looked up, he saw Slade manage to emerge from the fire tornado. He nudged Numbuh 1 and pointed in Slade's direction. Numbuh 1 then signaled for the other KND operatives to try and stall him so Cardinal would be in a fair fight, and since Slade was so weak at this point, he was taken out by Numbuh 2's S.L.U.G.G.U.H.-D.E.E.L.U.X.E.

Cardinal had finished Father, and as she did her tremendous power boost was beginning to fade. She fell to her knees then fell backward, barley conscious. Robin and the others ran over to her and Robin held her in his arms.

"Not bad for the new Titan, huh?" Cardinal said as she looked at her brother.

"You did great, just rest." Robin said as he gave his sister a look of approval.

"Is she going to be okay?" Numbuh 3 asked as she and the other KND walked over to the Titans.

"Yea, just used too much of her power. Thanks for the help." Robin stated as he looked at the tiny operatives.

Just as Robin said that, a strange vortex opened up and created a strong suction. The unconscious Slade and Plasmus were the first ones sucked in. The Titans tried to stay with their new friends, but Beast Boy and Cyborg were pulled in.

"I guess we can't fight it." Robin commented as he saw Raven and Starfire get sucked through the vortex, then looked right at Numbuh 1

"Here, so you don't forget you adventures or your new friends." Numbuh 1 stated as he pulled 6 medals out of his shorts pocket.

"Thanks, and here, so you won't ever for that not all teens are bad." Robin remarked as he reached into his utility belt and pulled out a spare Titan Communicator. "It will be good to see Jump City again."

With that exchange, Cardinal and Robin were pulled in and the vortex sealed itself.

Back at the tree house, Numbuh 1 was speaking to Numbuh 65.3 after returning from the DCFDTL's mansion.

"So, have those mysterious teens been taken care of?" Numbuh 65.3 questioned.

"Yes; they were a difficult group to defeat, but we did it. They won't be joining Father anytime soon." Numbuh 1 stated as he was trying not to reveal the fact that Sector V had actually helped teenagers.

"Alright, Numbuh 65.3 signing off." The operative said as the transmission ended.

"Do you think we will ever see them again?" Numbuh 3 asked as Numbuh 1 turned away from the monitor and started to walk towards the group.

"I don't know, Numbuh 3, but at least we know that there is a place where there are some teenagers that don't want to fight us." Numbuh 1 stated as he looked at the Titan communicator that Robin left him.

"They were awesome, especially Cardinal, I mean did you see the way she defeated Father." Numbuh 4 said as he was jumping around imitating some of the stuff Cardinal did.

"Numbuh 5 could have learned a few things from Raven." Numbuh 5 said as she looked at the others.

"Man, Beast Boy and Cyborg were awesome." Numbuh 2 remarked as he picked up the controller to his Yipper Squadron video game.

The Titans had arrived back in their world and been back at the tower for a couple of hours. Cardinal was lain out on a bed in the medical ward. Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Raven were watching her vitals while Robin and Starfire were sitting by her bed waiting for her to wake up. Just then, Cardinal started to stir, and Robin sat on the edge of his seat.

"What a ride." Cardinal said as she sat up. "Was it all a dream?"

"No way dudette, it really happened." Beast Boy said as he came into to room.

"What Beast Boy meant is that you didn't dream it. Whatever you remember really happened." Raven said as she came out of her meditative state.

"I only vividly remember up to where I was able to free myself, but then everything goes blank. Cardinal said as she thought back on her adventure.

"You were really something; the best part was when you trapped Slade, you were able to create a strong fire tornado. I may have been controlled by Father, but I remember everything. Also, sorry if I hurt any of you really bad." Cyborg stated just as the computer in med lab indicated a crime was happening.

"The only other thing I can remember is that at one point, I felt my fire power get stronger than I have ever felt." Cardinal said as she scooted to the left edge of the bed.

"Well, looks like we need to get going. Mumbo found an armored car full of gold bars." Cyborg stated as he finished checking all the frequencies of the security channels.

The team left, but Robin stopped Cardinal for a moment.

"Numbuh 1 said for us not to forget them." Robin explained as he gave his twin sister the last of the six medals then ran off after the other Titans.

"Thanks, guys; I'll never forget you." Cardinal said as she looked out the window, then ran off after her brother.
