Chapter One: The Awakening
It was a beautiful day. Blue sky with a few white puffy clouds, warmth that was exhilarating, and it seemed like the perfect time to go out and do whatever you wanted. The only one who was upset on such a glorious day was the messenger of Dr. Ivo Robotnik, also known as Bokkun. Stuck in his room he sat on his bed while glaring out his window, "This is so unfair. Why couldn't I come too?" Earlier Eggman had told Bokkun that he was going to go try to steal a Chaos Emerald and told him to 'stay here and don't break anything.' "I'm not five! Why does everyone treat me like I'm a baby?" Leaning back on the bed he closed his yellow eyes in thought.
There was only one thing that even came up and an idea and Bokkun knew that if Eggman caught him he would be as good as done for. Last time he was grounded for a week and at this rate he wouldn't be able to stay in his room for five more minutes. Last time he was bored, Bokkun snuck into one of the storage rooms and took a look around. The only thing he found before he was caught was a small music box, but that kept his attention for only ten minutes and was destined to remain its years hidden in his closet. Sitting up, Bokkun was determined to go check the one room he had never been in; Storage room F7. He slid off his bed, leaving his messenger bag, and left the room without a single regret.
It was quite a walk over to the storage room and Bokkun started to become afraid, "I hope Dr. Eggman doesn't find out." He shook his head, "No, he's out with Doceo and Boceo… And possibly Sonic." Finally he reached the door and entered the key code to unlock in, it opened with a small squeak of protest. Out of nowhere a large cloud of dust came out throwing Bokkun into a coughing fit as he still ventured inside. It wasn't just dust, there were cob webs that clung onto him while he wiped them away. Inside were many pieces of old machinery that looked rusty and paint peeled from them. They looked awkward too and Bokkun was shocked at how ridiculous one of the parts looked.
Then there was a trap covering something in the very back that caused Bokkun curiosity to sky rocket, "What's under that?" Approaching the tarp he grasped it and ripped it off quickly before staring. "It's a… A robot…" A robot lay there, shut down, and covered in dust. It resembled a chicken and Bokkun was slightly confused, "A chicken robot." He said with a quizzical expression, "Hey, there's another one." Back a little farther was a small green robot that slumped over also shut down. Then behind both was a red bot that looked like a Monkey, "Monkeys? Chickens? It's like I've fallen into some weird workshop that went a little off of track. What was Dr. Eggman doing?"
Then a new thought took over, "I wonder if I could turn them on." Stopping everything, Bokkun ran out of the room and back towards his own room. Under the bed was Bokkun's small toolbox that he used to fix his message transmitters when they were messing up. All that was inside was a small screwdriver, a wrench, a roll of black tape, and some bandages for if he hurt himself while working. It took a few more minutes but he was back inside the dark storage room. He unscrewed the chicken's chest plate and looked inside at the things inside. All the wires were fine and eventually Bokkun found something, an actual switch that caused electrical flow to stop.
With a smile, Bokkun made sure to open up every robot and flipped every switch at once, or attempted to do it as close as possible. The chicken robot started to twitch a bit and it made a weird noise. "Yes! They're turning on!" Then Bokkun froze with horror, "Oh no! They're turning on! Dr. Eggman is going to-..." Seeing the robot's hand twitch Bokkun ran a few feet away and hid in a box laying on its side. The chicken's eyes opened and he blinked, "Where am I? What's going on?" Beside him the green robot turned on, "Scratch? Where are we?" The chicken, Scratch, stood, "Your guess is as good as mine. Wow, I'm feeling a little rusty. We must have been out a-Ah!"
Scratch accidently fell back and collapsed onto the monkey robot that pushed him off, "Watch it! I'm down here you know!" The taller looked a little surprised, "Coconuts?... Alright, Grounder, what did you do?" Grounder, the green robot, sputtered, "M-Me?" he turned angry, "I didn't do anything! I have no idea where we are!" Hearing this, Bokkun started to peek out of the box while clenching his teeth, "They talk too?... I'm done for. They'll tell the doctor, he'll be mad at me, Doceo and Boceo will probably start laughing." He covered his mouth when he heard Scratch speak, "Did you hear that?" it was a tense moment and Bokkun heard some footsteps walk closer.
Thankfully the two, Scratch and Grounder, walked the other way and Bokkun was sure he was home free. Suddenly something hit the back of the box and Bokkun tripped over himself and sprawled a bit out onto the dirty floor, "I found it!" In was the monkey with a plunger in his hand. Bokkun would have laughed if this was any other time. As the other two robots approached he scooted backwards before stumbling to his feet and running towards the now closed door that was motion activated. As soon as he got close enough it popped open and there, in front of the messenger, was Dr. Robotnik. Bokkun's eyes widened and he gulped before quietly speaking, "Doctor… E-Eggman…"
Instead Dr. Eggman didn't pay an attention and merely walked by the small messenger, "I never thought you three would be in my vision again. Looking guilty and somewhat confused." As he entered the room Bokkun stood beside the door and watched from his little corner, an even guiltier look smothered on his expression. Immediately the three robots were saluting in an almost comical fashion, "Dr. Robotnik, glad to see you. Have you lost weight?" The look they received caused Scratch to hit Grounder and whisper, "Don't bring up his weight." Then straighten, "So… What happened?" Dr. Robotnik nodded, "Yes, I should explain. Last time you three ruined my plans I realized something."
The three robots listened closely, "You see. My plans were going nowhere, foolish, amateur, so I decided to restart. To accomplish this I had to stop everything and make new ideas, new machines, and a new base. You three were shut down temporarily." The three stared and Coconuts quietly muttered, "Temporarily?" Still Scratch smiled, "That's fine Doctor Robotnik. So how many days have we been down?" Quietness and he looked around at the dusty storage room, "Weeks?" More silence and Bokkun peered at him with eyes that tried to read him, "Months?" Finally Scratch's smile fell and he stared.
Eggman coughed, "Try years."
Mable: Yeah, the first chapter is pretty small but the second chapter will either be up later or tomorrow. I hope you enjoyed! Also, if there are any questions on something I haven't made clear then just list it in a review or PM and I'll be more than happy to answer.
