All I Want For Christmas Is You
"Look at all of the pretty lights Momma." My three year old daughter said to be, turning around and pointing at the different out door lights the Christmas Expo had to offer.
"I see them Sophie, make sure you don't let go of your father's hand."
"Okie doks." Pretty soon we came to what we were looking for, solar energy candy canes that go outside and when it gets dark out the light up different colors. Why Lucas wanted this, I had no idea. I still had no idea as to why all four of us had to go.
"Daddy look at that tree." Sophie said, pointing to the real Christmas tree in awe. We've always had a "fake" one at the house and she's rarely seen a new one.
"It's really nice Soph."
"I like it a lot."
"Me too Princess. What do you think Brooke? Let's get it."
"No way Broody, first of all we don't need a new tree and second of all, this little one…" I said motioning down to the 5 month old in my arms. "…will try and put the fallen pines into his mouth."
"He will not."
"Luke, I'm not arguing you on this one, trust me he will. And besides we'd have to go now and fight more crowds just to go get it, and I don't have a stroller or carrier for him and I don't want to take him out anymore in the cold then I already have."
"Please Mommy; it will look so pretty in the living room where we have our old one."
"Come on Cheery, where is your Christmas spirit? Its Keith's first Christmas and even Sophie wants to get it. We could always just stop by the house and pick up something for him and warmer clothing for the both of them."
"God Luke, you're almost as bad as the kids with this nagging thing." I said readjusting Keith in my arms because he was getting fidgety.
"So do I take that as a yes?"
"Yes, but so help me God if I see him put one pine in his mouth, the tree is going into the garbage. And you're going to be cleaning up all of the fallen pines no matter what, you hear me?"
"Yes, thank you so much Pretty Girl. You won't be disappointed." Luke said engulfing me in a giant hug and giving me such a passionate kiss, both actions receiving stares from passer buyers.
