Clove, age 6
Daddy always likes it when he sees me playing with knives.
I guess I know why - he wants me to get really good. Then I can win that game and would be the bestest of them all. I like playing games - but I like winning better. That means double fun once I'm old enough to win - you have to be a big girl to play the Game, Daddy says.
But mostly I just want for Daddy to like me like he loves Mint and Sage. Mommy says its because they're boys like him, but I know she's lying. Daddy likes them because they can play with knives really good. He says they'll win the Game too.
Daddy never talks to me any more. I miss him lots - I just want him to notice me again.
I know he'll love me if I practice hard enough and get really good. He'll love me once I hit the bulls eye - throw me in the air and kiss me on the cheek like he does with the big boys. I can't wait until I'm good enough.
Because once I become the best, I know Daddy will love me the most.
