Life Goes On

After Edward left, Charlie finally had enough. He went and packed Bella's things up and forced her to move back to Phoenix with Renee.

Bella became better and started enjoying life. She had almost fully moved on, though she was still in love with Edward.

Her new friends and life are pretty good, until she gets an email, sending her into face her past.

Chapter One: Bella's Point Of View

Sighing I closed my book and stood up making my way out of the library. It had been 10 years since the day Edward Cullen walked out of my life. After a few months of sulking and wishing his family and him would come back I gave up. Charlie had a fit he was sick of seeing me upset like that so he packed me up and moved me back to Phoenix to live with Renee. I still remember that day, the day I came home to find my bags packed.

~10 years earlier~

Sticking my copper key in the hole it reminded me of his hair; I shook my head and twisted the key, opening the door. I kept looking at the floor as I kicked off my shoes and dumped my bag at the door. Making my way to the kitchen my eyes glued to the floor I didn't realise there was another person with me; until I saw my dads well polished shoes appear in front of my sock covered feet. My eyes shot up and looked into his tired looking face. I hadn't noticed his cruiser in the drive way.

"Hi dad," I muttered. Looking for a way past him, as he didn't move – besides to cross his arms – I just stood there and sighed; something that I have been doing a lot lately. "Was there something you needed dad?" I asked a bit of attitude in my voice. He gave me a disapproving look and then started his assault.

"Don't give me that attitude young lady. Ever since Edward" I winced at his name, "left, you haven't been yourself. You are walking around here like the living dead, your grades are barely keeping up, and you aren't eating and sleeping. You aren't even trying to move on and you're putting EVERYONE who LOVES and CARES for you in pain. You are being selfish. I am sending you back to your mother, you aren't welcome here in Forks, so don't even bother about arguing, come back when you have grown up." He paused a minute to calm down from his yelling, "It's hard when the person you love leaves you, but seriously Bells, you are taking this too far."

Tears filled my eyes and he brought me into a hug. I was hurting him. It wasn't usual for my dad to be emotional; this was it. I looked up at him feeling useless, and like a screw up.

"I'll go pack," I croaked out. Charlie looked down at me and patted my back.

"Everything is already packed," I looked at him shocked, he wouldn't have done that, would he? Apparently so. He gestured down at the floor. I saw four suitcases, which I guessed was full of my stuff. "Come on your plane leaves in 3 hours we need to get to Port Angeles in the next two hours before you miss it."

I wiped my eyes, "Don't I get to say bye?" Charlie must have still been in the 'I'm throwing my daughter out' mood because he snapped,

"Who is there to say bye to Bella? You gave up on your friends a long time a go, and they gave up on you," Harsh Charlie, real harsh. I nodded and helped him pick up my bags and carried them out of the house. I had to drag the suitcase out, I have no muscles due to my not eating, and I am just skin and bones. Charlie came in and grabbed it taking it and putting it in the cruiser. I put on my shoes and grabbed my school bag.

I walked out the door and over to my truck. I patted it and my eyes drifted over to the forest. My eyes glistened in tears as I thought of the memories I was leaving behind – my memories of the family and the love that left me.

"Bella, come on now," Charlie's gruff voice called. I looked back at him and opened the car door and got in. The drive to the airport was long, but we made it with an hour and a half to spare. Charlie stayed to make sure I was on the plane and then we had a short goodbye, and when I walked onto the plane I never looked back at him.

~Present~

I made my way over to my usual park spot, under an old oak tree. My bright blue truck, the replacement of my Chevy, seemed almost like home. On the way home my mind drifted back to what happened since Charlie made that smart move and kicked me out. Renee greeted me and took me home, she convince me to go to therapy, after two years of that I was able to say their names with out having a panic attack or getting upset. I went to college in Phoenix so I could be close to Renee. She was no more my crazy mum; she was mature and took her responsibilities very seriously. I went on medication for depression as well. My life was better now.

Though, I haven't gone back to Forks since Charlie kicked me out. He came to visit a few times. I refuse to go back to the rainy town, or go to any rainy or non sunny place. If I stay in a sunny place it means there is a less of a chance I will run into the Cullen's.

I became an English teacher, but for kids who needed help. They range in age. In my spare time I am at the library just reading and doing work. Everyone in the library likes me, I think.

I have made great friends like Erin, Miriam, Rocca (real name Daniel), Joel, Katy, Katrina, Petrina and Brad. They are all around my age and are really friendly.

Most of us all went to the same college, but they were all friends since primary school and high school. We all hang out after work sometimes at the library, or at a little café at the local shopping centre. Today we were meeting up at the café. They know about my … past. But know I don't like to go into details about it. They really are the best friends any one could want.

I pulled into a parking lot and quickly got out the car. My sense of fashion is better then it was 10 years ago. I am currently wearing a light green summer dress with white flip flops and I have a tan. My hair is layered and I have a little make-up on. Petrina is the one who knows how to make me look good. She makes us all look good; after all it's her job.

"Hey Bella! Over here," Katrina yelled frantically waving her arms around. She was laughing, her blonde hair a mess. Brad pulled down her arms and cuddled them to her body, he whispered something in her ear and she burst out laughing. She turned around and hit him playfully. Katy, Petrina, Erin and Miriam all watched, while Rocca and Joel kept their nerdy talk going. All the girls looked at each other and Katrina nodded. Suddenly all the girls jumped up and ran at me; tackling me in their hugs. They do this every time. I shook my head and laughed at their behaviour, as did the boys.

"Hey guys," I cheered as they all let go and made their way back over to the table. I got a chorus of 'hellos' back and sat down. Soon Jeff, the waiter, came over.

"Sup guys?" he casually said, holding a notepad and pen up, waiting. Everyone immediately said what they were having for dinner. We say what we are having for dinner because Petrina made it up when we were in the library. She 'thinks' that 'sup' means 'what's for dinner?' Its better not to ask. We ordered our usuals and went into easy conversation.

I looked over each person, first up was Erin.

Erin is short, around Alice's size. She has 'dishwasher' blonde hair, but she frequently dyes it brown and has beautiful green eyes. She has been married to Ben for the last 5 years, and so far hasn't had any kids, but I know they will at some point or they will just adopt. Erin is a primary school teacher, she teaches the kindy kids. She absolutely loves it. Oh, and she has been Katrina's best friend since they were two, they know everything about each other.

Miriam is really tall, just over 6 feet. She has brown hair, and blue eyes. She is best friends with Petrina and Katy; they are a trio in themselves. Miriam is really funny and isn't currently dating anyone. She doesn't want kids. She goes out with Joel once a year, but she always dumps him. One day she will find who she is looking for, though she won't change her mind about the kid's thing. She is a University Professor and in her spare time teaches piano to kids.

Daniel Rocca, what can I say about him? He has brown hair he dyes black on occasion. His eyes match his natural hair colour. He is the biggest nerd you will come across, but he is the sweetest guy. He is a computer geek, and he does that for a living. He married the girl of his dreams, Kim, the year I met him. I was at their wedding. He is into heavy metal and scream-o bands. He has two kids, a son called Joseph, which they call Joey, he is obsessed with Friends; and a daughter named Keira. They are both under the age of 6.

Joel is also a computer nerd – but unlike Rocca, he doesn't make it seem like a big deal. He is pretty funny and a good listener, when I am feeling down its easy to talk to him. Like I said he goes out with Miriam at least once a year. He jokes about being gay a lot, but I think that's just because last time Miriam dumped him it was on Valentines Day and it hurt his ego. He has brown curly hair and dark brown eyes. He is the tallest in the group. He mainly hangs around Brad or Rocca, because the guys have to stick together.

Katy is really cool. She likes wearing what she wants. She has a strong personality and is good with the kids she works with. Katy had close friends of hers with a mental illness and helped her. She loved helping her friend and got into helping kids with illnesses as a result. She loves her jobs and the kids. She is the third tallest in the group and is the skinniest. She could be a bikini model. She currently isn't dating anyone, but this mysterious man that she tells us about has her interest. She also has brown hair and green eyes. Her hair is cut short and frames her face beautifully.

Petrina is the coolest girl I know. She is a big shot in the fashion industry and helps out with a couple of bands with what to wear and directs new people in the business. She makes sure everything we are wearing is okay and taught us the secrets to make up and fashion, she isn't pushy with it like Alice was though, so it's better then Bella Barbie. Petrina has really dark brown/black hair, that she dyed when she was like 14 maybe and it stained her hair black. She puts a red dye in it and it is red up the top and black down the bottom, it's really pretty. She isn't dating anyone either.

Katrina is an English high school teacher, what I originally wanted to do. She also teaches art. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She has been married to her Brad since they were twenty and have two boys, George and Danny. She is basically living her dream. She is a happy bubbly person and likes to hug people. She is good to talk to. Her, Erin and Rocca are the group I hang out more with, but when Brad is there, well I just hang out with Erin and Rocca, if Kim is there, which is rarely… Well you know.

Brad, Katrina's husband, is the perfect guy for her. They love each other so much. He has a horrible sense of humour though and a crappy taste in music compared to the rest of the group. Brad really likes sport, especially Australian Rules football; he is a sports teacher at the same school Erin works in. He loves working with kids. He is really sweet to Katrina and is probably a better listener and advice person then Joel; but then again…

"Earth to Bella, come in Bella," Petrina waved a hand in front of my face and giggled at my expression.

"Huh? Sorry. What?" I asked a bit confused. I shook my head.

"We are leaving now, party's over; though there is a get-together at my house on Friday, you coming?" She asked, knowing my answer.

I nodded, "Definitely." We all stood up hugged each other good bye and left.

~At Bella's Home~

I had bought myself an apartment somewhere along the road. It was a two bedroom one, and it was rather spacious. It was exactly what I wanted. I turned on my small laptop, a gift from Charlie, he still feels guilty about kicking me out of Forks, and although I have tried to convince him it was fine, it made me better; he's still feels very guilty. I will admit I am not over Edward. Not at all, he was the one for me, the therapy helped with everything, but it never fixed that.

I logged onto my email account and found an email address I had never seen before. Curious, I opened it.

Dear Miss Isabella Swan,

You see we know that roughly 11 years ago you were trusted with a secret. We also know that you guessed the secret.

We would like to meet you Miss Swan; ASAP.

We will pay for your ticket if you don't have the funds to do so.

We shall be seeing each other soon Miss Swan.

As soon as I finished reading I fainted.

Authors Note:

Hello again everyone! I know, I know. I am meant to be doing my other story, The Smiling Assassin. But really, I don't really have the passion for that at the moment, and to be honest its written horribly. This is my new small project until I am ready to start writing TSA again. Tell me what you think of it so far please; because I am unsure of this story so far. I based the new characters of me and my friends; so they seem teenager-ish, but all well. I hope by how I have left it, you will want to keep reading it. I am going to make this story short, because it was originally going to be a one-shot, but it didn't happen. I will make it under ten chapters though because I only have a week left of holidays and stuff. Anyways, any of you who have read and hate it or love it, or aren't sure (like me) just review. I don't mind receiving alerts and everything, but I want to make sure that what I am writing is what you want. Okay? So REVIEW as well as ALERT and FAVOURITE (if you want to alert and favourite) :P I will write the next chapter now I suppose :D Then we will see if it's okay. Hopefully this okay written, I think I kept switching style of writing.
