Chapter Ten, The punishment, healing and daddy daughter talks

"I was just wanted to know what happened in there," He said following her to her car as she took out a pad of paper and a pencil," It almost sounds like Everett tried to kill a mutant."

She ignored his gaze as she began to write on the pad of paper," That's exactly what happened Deputy Manuel," She whorled around and was about to start for the school but stopped," Tell the boys to get rid of the reporters. And don't forget to contact S.H.I.E.L.D ASAP. Hill will be glad to know we stopped Hydra this time."

"I'm on it, sir." He responded saluting her as she stormed her way back into the building. The doors were opened by two of her men, who bowed their heads as she entered.

She did the same and headed straight for the gym. She tried to think about anything else but her anger. But the clomping of her heels on the floor only made it more obvious.

The Avengers looked up as she entered the gym. As she moved towards her friend, the team moved to either side. She smiled down at her old friend, who was being put on a white stretcher back up.

The stretcher stayed for a moment. She turned to look at Everett, who was on a stretcher as well. She winced as she looked at his legs, which looked like they had just gotten out of the microwave," Try not to think about your injuries too much. Think about how messy Tony is or chocolate-"

Lucy laughed knowing what her friend was trying to do," I get it."

Steve shook his head as he took his wife's hand and kissed her knuckles," Remind me to teach you how to use weapons and dodge attacks better. There were a few times in that fight when I thought some of those attacks didn't hit."

His wife nodded and Captain America turned look at Tony, who had part of his mask pealed off. The billionaire nodded and Steve followed the paramedics outside. As if, Captain America would ever need permission to do anything.

Doppelganger nodded in approval and made her way to where Panther and Kay were sitting at one of the tables in back. She noticed that Kay was holding the boomerang with her special blue gloves. This was what she used to investigate crime scenes.

"You know there's no need to investigate this crime scene," She said with a smirk and the two looked up at her," The police already know who's guilty."

"I wasn't. I was just telling T'Challa about the boomerang. Apparently its made it's made of Adamantium." Kay announced as she turned it over.

The boomerang itself was a nice piece of work. Circular but with six blades that pointed outwards, then turned to the right. Nevertheless, who could make this kind of boomerang?

Demi turned to glance behind her at the Avengers, who were now talking in hushed voices. Then she glanced back as T'Challa left and Demi took it.

"So is there any evidence of who made that?" She asked sounding a little irritated as Kay put it in a large black suitcase. She saw Kay raise her eyebrows but said nothing to defend herself.

Kay looked at her friend, who was practically glaring at her," Actually there isn't and I don't know why you're so mad at me." She got up from the table and began to walk out when Demi grabbed her shoulder hard and turned her around.

"You burned Everett's legs. Heroes don't exactly paralyze or burn super villains," She sighed and shook her head as she let go of her friend's shoulder," Sorry I guess I'm just hungry. Want to get something to eat after this?"

"Sure." The red head smiled warmly as her stress level went down dramatically.

"Not yet," Tony said from near the dented wooden stage. The two women turned to see the Avengers either standing or sitting near their leader with exhausted looks on their faces," You guys had some good moves back there. You should join the Avengers. What do you say?"

The girls shared grins then faced the crowd," We'd love to." Demi offered just as Kay was about to object. She nudged her in the side and Kay smiled.

"Yeah, right after we get something to eat. I'm starved." Kay said as her stomach began to growl loudly.

"All right, Lacey and I are off on patrol," Hawkeye interrupted as the said teammate shifted herself into a Snow Leopard," We'll be back at ten." Hawkeye took his position on top of the Leopard and the two left without another word.

"We'll be there tomorrow with our stuff and everything." Demi said and Tony nodded putting his mask back on.

Everyone walked out together. Thankfully, the press had finally decided to leave but some police officers and paramedics were still on the scene. Suddenly, she remembered something.

She had forgotten to take back in her other selves. She was about to start looking for them when she noticed them already in the car. She gave out a small sigh of relief and continued on her way.

In the city of New York, several ships flew over. As silent, as they were the moon light shone down them. The moon light revealed the ships green, with a yellow many headed monster insignia on it.

The front ship, which was the largest, was directed by a red-cloaked woman. Her hood concealed her face, which was lost in thought. However, her costume was something else entirely.

It her breasts and connected with her cape. It was a sleeve less and ended at her groin. She also had a gray utility belt with large containers on it and even some places where she kept her weapons. Moreover, her high heel boot that reached her knees were only a reassurance of her badass attitude.

"Approaching headquarters, sir," A soldier announced and Lady Hydra nodded.

" Drop me off at the entrance. Then have everyone park in the back."

"Yes, sir," He said saluting her as they neared the entrance to Hydra's headquarters. As they landed, the bay doors opened. As soon as Christina left, the ship took flight once more and followed the others.

It didn't take her long to find Hydra's headquarters. When she did, she noticed the door already opened. Another thing she noticed was that Strucker and Widow were waiting for her. Widow she didn't mind but Strucker was another story.

Christina pulled down her hood to reveal a pale face, waist length black hair that and keen piercing green eyes. She tried to ignore him as he followed her down the dimly lit hall.

"Let me guess? You lost against him too, right?" She grit her teeth as she tried to ignore his smirk. This was quite difficult. She knew Strucker had been her father's favorite Lieutenant in the war, so she tried not to get into too many fights with him," It wouldn't surprise me since you're still a novice."

She decided that she had had enough of Strucker teasing him. So she got him back, "At least I know a secret weapon that will destroy the Captain," She grinned and his smile disappeared," Unlike you, who tried to just destroy him with one blast. The key to success is patience. Or do you not remember Hydra's loss in War World ll?"

She noticed Strucker's pride replaced by fury. The two continued to walk in silence until they reached the throne room. The oak double doors were open for them as they entered. The scene that Christina found was only what she had dreamed of since childhood.

Deep mahogany walls with three Hydra banners on both sides. Of course, there were troops, standing on the lush green carpet. Three large steps lead to the throne, which was all yellow.

Hydra soldiers parted as they entered the room, and some even muttered. However, that didn't matter to Christina. What mattered to Christina was that today, on this warm June night, she would earn her father's love. And probably more.

She knew he wouldn't be disappointed. Or at least she hoped. She knew that, even if she had failed to capture Captain America, he would at least think of her as worthy. He might even be jealous. But only time would tell.

The two bowed as they reached the throne and rose only to see a man with red skin sitting on it. On his skull, skin look as if it had been torn away and only a skull had been left. A Red Skull.

The doors opened again and this time, Widow entered. The Skull was the first to speak.

"Report Lady Hydra," He spoke, his voice as raspy as ever," What news of the mission and the assassin?" Christina swallowed the lump forming in her throat as Strucker hid a smirk.

"Part of the regiment was captured," She spoke, her voice sounding quiverier than she had intended," Along with the Black Assassin." Lady Hydra bit her upper lip nervously as she waited for him to yell at her. But instead, he did something else.

"Very good, Lieutenant. You are learning fast." He chuckled and Christina almost rose her eyebrow, but thought better of it. Instead, she decided to try her luck. Even if she might be banished for the rest of her life.

"I don't understand," She spoke sounding a bit more confident than she felt," I failed my mission." She waited for some sign of approval or disapproval. But received neither.

"Yes," He nodded folding his hands folding together," So you did. But the men tell me otherwise. They tell me that you have discovered a crucial weakness. One that will crush these Avengers," He spat the last word as if it were a curse," And Captain America."

Making a brave move, Lady Hydra raised her head," Indeed, I have sir. And if it's all the same to you," She said looking back at Strucker, who was talking with his girlfriend," I would rather it be private. It's classified information. For your ears only."

She waited as the Skull mulled this over for a moment. Sweat began to bead from her brow. Her eyebrow twitched. The Skull spoke.

"Very well," He looked up at the soldiers in the room, then at the Lieutenants," Lieutenant Strucker, have everyone go to the practice room. I want everyone to be able to assemble and disassemble their new rifles when I arrive. I have some business to discus with my daughter."

Strucker's eyebrows nearly popped out of his head but he nodded and carried out the Skull's orders. Murmurs could he heard throughout the room as the two carried out the Skull's orders. When he passed Christina, he shot her a glare. She didn't care. She had won his love today and that was all that mattered.

As soon as everyone had left, Lady Hydra stepped forward. The Skull rose to greet his long lost daughter," You can take off your hood now, Christina," This time it was her turn for her eyebrows to raise," I know it's you," She did as she was told. He watched as her reveal long ebony hair. Her almost vampire pale skin and her piercing green eyes. She looked so much like her mother. The Skull shook his head and sat back down, "So what did you want to tell me about Captain America that was so important you couldn't say it in front of Strucker?"

Christina almost blushed, but thought better of it. The Skull laughed," How did you know?" She felt stupid for asking, but she still had to know. And besides, she was on a winning streak. Nothing could stop her now.

"I heard you from down the hall," He responded with a smirk still glued to his face," You're both very loud." Christina nodded, taking a mental note," Now what about Captain America?"

Finally. Now they were getting done to business. Christina cleared her throat," Well when I was fighting I discovered something very interesting about him," She waited for a response. Nothing," Apparently, the Captain has a certain someone. Someone with whom he's very close to. A girlfriend, possibly a wife."

Christina tried to read her father's expression but the only thing she could find was joy. And possibly a little cruelty. He arose and began to laugh manically. With his fingers curled upwards and his head to the sky.

Lady Hydra waited until he was done. She didn't want to spoil his fun. Especially against an enemy like this," Very well done Lieutenant. Walk with me, and I will show you what you need to do to exterminate the Captain once and for all." He arose from his throne once more and Lady Hydra followed.

Check and mate. He had taken the bait.

Me: Well there you have it. The next chapter. With a cliffhanger! Don't you just love those?

Anyway, I wanted to talk more about my writing. Hopefully, it has gotten better. I really have been practicing and touching up on the little details. I also have tried to put in plot twists and subplots, if you can't tell.
