Eli's POV...
Today was the day. Today was the day. Today was the day. I exhaled loudly, saying those words over and over again in my head. Today was the day I was going to propose to Clare. We had a date tonight and I was finally going to ask her. We had been together for almost six years and I knew it was time to take the next step. I decided to call her and see if she was ready.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hey Blue Eyes. Ready to see me?" I asked her with my signature smirk plastered onto my face.
"Yes, I will be. Are you coming to get me?" Clare asked.
"Yeah, I'll be there in five okay?" I said.
"Okay see you then. I love you." She said and hung up the phone. I smiled to myself. How did a weirdo like me end up with a saint like Clare?
I walked outside and got into Morty. Well Morty the second. Morty number one was gone. I shook the thought of that night when I crashed Morty and Clare left me. I sighed and drove to Clare's apartment. After about five minutes was there. I got out of new Morty and walked to Clare's door and knocked on it.
"Guess who?" I yelled. Clare opened the door an smiled at me. I looked up into her baby blue orbs and smirked.
"Hey Eli." Clare said.
"Do I get a kiss?" I asked with my arms opened.
"Nope. That's for later." She said with a smile. I fake pouted.
"I don't know if I can wait that long." I said.
"Hmm. We'll just have to see then."
"Shall we go?" I asked her then grabbed her arm gently.
"Where are we going?" Clare asked looking up at me.
"It's a surprise." I said while helping her into new Morty. She sighed and we drove in comfortable silence as we drove to our destination.
Finally we were there. I helped Clare out of the hearse and covered her eyes. The place where we were at was our place. The old abandoned church. We hadn't been here in years ever since Adam moved to New York with Fiona. I took her hand and led her to a blanket that I set up and I sat her down on it.
"Can I look now?" She asked. I removed my hands from her eyes and she gasped.
"Well?" I asked.
"Eli! Why did you bring me here? We havn't been here in two years!" She yelled.
"Clare calm down. I have a very important question to ask you." I said and sat down with her.
"Well go on." She said.
"Will you do the honor of being my bride?" I asked her as I pulled a silver band out of my pocket. I handed it to her. Her blue eyes flashed to my green eyes, then down to the ring. She gently took it from my grasp and read the engravement.
"Forever and always, Blue Eyes." Clare then looked up at me and I saw fresh tears in her eyes. "Yes Eli! Yes, yes yes!" She said. I smirked.
"Thank you. Can I have my kiss now?"
She smiled and jumped over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed her lips to mine feverishly. I wrapped my hands around her waist and deepened the kiss. A few seconds later she pulled away and pressed her forehead to mine.
"I love you Eli." She said.
"Ditto." I said and smirked.
