In fact he had not seen him since the said man had awoken him and they walked to the entrance of the now filled room.

Arthur found himself smiling at the sound of Merlin huffing at him as he was called to the pope and asked to bow on his knee. He found himself saying his vows as he searched the room once more, yet Merlin was not present.

Well I for one think you will make a great king Arthur if it means anything to you. You are meant for this moment and you know it. And for what's it worth I'll be around to still haul your ass out of trouble.

Arthur felt the cool crown grace his head and he stood, facing the cheering room. It felt so nice to be reginized in front of people he knew all his life. Yet the swelling he felt in his heart was not from the smiles and jeers, nor was it from Gwen who kissed him in happiness.

Arthur turned around to be met with eager eyes that crinkled with mirth and happiness. Arthur smiled and swung an arm around Merlin's neck as they descended the platform to the floor. Laughing as they walked out being jostled by people casing Arthur 's crown to hang loosely on his head. GWEN and the knights meet them on the stairs leading to the courtyard.

The group made it to the tavern and ordered drinks all around as it began to fill up with citizens. Arthur snuck a look at Merlin who was talking rapidly with Gwaine and Lancelot at the table.

"Everyone if I may," he called out and every stopped to stare at the new king.

"Today we start a new era which means that there will be new rules set down to achieve fairness and prosperity. My father was a great king but I will not lie when I say he choose to rule sometimes with out thinking. I would not be here today with out some people especially a dear friend of mine."

There was muttering among the people as they tried to guess who the king was talking about. Some guessed the knights and some guessed Gwen while some said Merlin.

Merlin was staring at Arthur with a crimson blush. What was he doing?

"Merlin deserves the praises as much as I do." He said yanking Merlin up as the crowed cheered.
