The vortex led to a chasm-no more like a deep dark bottomless pit with inclines slope broken into sections. As Arthur and I walked around a crumbling ledge, all I could see was darkness. I felt an oddity of feelings: scared, weak, anger, but also happy. I was happy because Arthur hadn't killed me. He glanced to ice shaped rocks that seemed hollowed with blood. He suppressed a shudder at them as we walked down an incline.
"What is this place?' he said more to himself then me. His leather boot hit a tiny piece of rubble and it rolled off the incline. I never hear it drop.
"This is the place where the fey showed me the monster. It was created by Morgona."
He halted.
"Why am I not surprises at that! Let me guess the fey told you? What else have you been hiding Merlin? And this creature what of it?"
I brushed passed him and with careful consideration, I leaped over and landed like a cat on a nearby ledge. I closed my eyes as a sharp wail road through on the winds making fire like veins criss-cross against the wall. When it subsisted, I turned to Arthur who had his sword drawn out. He flexed it hand to hand, as he studied the veins and then me. I knocked my head and with a breath, he jumped over.
"They fey told me little, Arthur. Only I was the only one that could defeat this monster. I figured it out on my own it was your sister. I didn't mean it, you see it was the only way to save you. I broke rules and defied the laws. You saw me that day Arthur. Morgona grasped the chain I broke and got control of the realm, and now this world. The fey can't defeat it anymore then I can ,because I need you to help me…and some thing of the light."
"I- don't understand. Why did you go into the realm of dreams for me only to sacrifice things? You are powerful I do know that much, but magic is bad, Merlin. Morgona is a prime example of it. How am I suppose to help you when I don't even know if I can trust you."
I smiled," Because I am your friend and the only chance you have. I risked it all for those reasons. Remember what you told me on the last day in Ealdor? 'The first thing I thought was to protect you. I did and this may sound stupid, but when I was hit, all I was afraid of, was that taking that arrow was not enough' that meant something to me Arthur because every day I use my magic and wonder if it's enough to save you and to guide you. As for helping me well we will figure it out when the time comes."
He didn't answer me because we had arrived at the bottom of the incline as we did I about turned around and ran. Because there at the bottom, chained and looking menacing was the monster. It growled and tried to pull against the chain but stopped when a light flashed by. Glowing whiter then a unicorn was a girl around my age with angelic hair and runic skin. Her eyes held ours as the monster shook his head and banged his fist.
His heart beated and as it did she pulsated with magic; she was bound to it more then in a simple chain.
She smiled, "Please…please….help."
