A/N My first one shot, and my first Potter fic (but certainly not last!) Hope you like it. Set around OOTP, one-shot.
Draco doesn't read Muggle fashion magazines. Really, he doesn't.
He does, however, look at the pictures.
As much as he loathes the filthy creatures, they do have very interesting magazines.
He flips another page, trying not to let the other boys in his dormitory hear, when a word catches his eye.
What a funny word.
He reads a bit more and discovers that it means something along the lines of "Brad and Angelina put together because they are a couple."
You can put names together?
He decides to try it.
It sounds terrible.
It sounds better, but honestly, it's not like he would be in a couple with Zabini.
Drabbe and Droyle.
He chuckles at the thought of being in a relationship with Crabbe and Goyle.
His mind wanders to the other houses.
Dredric. He's dead anyways.
Dro. Far too short.
Drannah. Decent… but he would rather die than be caught with a Hufflepuff.
Dreville. Eww – Longbottom.
Dron. Sounds terrible.
Dramion – Merlin, he can't even finish the thought.
Draco's breath catches in his throat. He likes the sound of it.
Draco and Harry.
He doesn't hate Potter. He used to, of course, but he's far too stubborn to admit that he doesn't anymore.
He thinks of the way that Potter smiles at that Chang girl. He thinks of the way he laughs at those annoying ginger twins. He thinks of Potter's bright green eyes, always sparkling with some new idea or thought…
He shakes himself a little.
You're mad, Draco.
But somehow… he doesn't feel crazy.
He kind of…
He falls asleep thinking only of Harry.
He wakes up the next morning thinking only of Harry.
He pulls himself out of bed and gets dressed for breakfast.
He purposely chooses the seat where he can see Potter best.
Harry looks tired. Draco feels sorry for him.
He catches himself staring.
He looks back down at his breakfast, but it's in vain. His head automatically pops back up.
He could watch Harry all day.
Look at me, Harry. Look at me.
And miraculously, he does.
Green eyes meet gray.
Potter glares at him, no doubt suspecting some sort of trick.
Softly, shyly, Draco smiles at Harry.
Shock shows in Potter's face. He turns away quickly.
He knows it won't go anywhere.
But that doesn't stop him from hoping.
