FANFIC: FINALLY_1
'Finally' thought Elissa Soloman as the old Gotham Academy schoo bell rang, indicating that school was over for the weekend. Eli loved being in a school which really tested her scientific and mathamatic abilities. She was also on the school's cheerleading squad. She wasn't at the top of the pyramid but atleast she was a somebody. The coach says she'd make a great athlete but Eli aspired to be something different. All her life she's wanted to be a doctor, a very famous doctor. Although she questions whether she just wants to save lives. This could be an option considering what she can do. She has far greater skills other than fitness and brains. She has the ability to read people's minds and manipulate their thoughts. Eli hasn't told anyone. She 'doesn't want to be sent away to the Government or something' she tells herself. As far as she knows that is the extent of her powers. She watches the news every morning and wonders what it's like to be a superhero. With her powers, plus the fact she's taking martial arts classes after school and she's being taught by her best friend, this could actually become reality.
"Hey Eli!" called her friend. He ran up to her with a grin on his face. "Are you staying over this weekend?" he asked whilst taking her (lightly packed) bag from her.
"You know it" She answered with delight. Another reason why she is a somebody is because she's best friends with the billionaire's son, Richard Grayson. They met in science class, one of Eli's strong points. Well, technically they argued in science class.
- Flash back -
"There's no way that's even possible!" exclaimed Dick crossing his arms over his chest. Eli moved right up close to him, mimicked his actions and said
"Yes there is! The ratio of the cube of the radius of a planet's orbit to the square of it's period about the Sun is the same for all planets!" Eli shouted angrilly, 'what a great first day' she thought.
"Yeah well, I mean - Whatever" Dick said in defeat.
"Paha" Eli replied feeling like a winner.
- End flash back -
Yep, that's how they met. At the time Eli hadn't realised that Dick was a rich geek who's adopted farther practically owns Gotham. She just thought he was another nerd trying to wrong her theories. They've been friends ever since. As they walked down the path leading to the massive iron gate at the front of the school Eli glanced at a banner, read it then looked confused at Dick. "Vote Richard Grayson for Head Boy?" Eli said, then put her thumbs in the loop holes above her skirt pockets. "Your allowed to run for head boy? I thought you could only do that in your last year" She said. The gates were wide open and cars were parked along the side walk. They both stopped and leaned on the wall behind them.
"Uch! Don't ask. Crazy girls that's all you need to know. I've already spoken to the principle about it." He said whilst looking out for Alfred in the limo "Your sure your allowed? I mean, did you actually ask your parents if you could stay over?" he said with concern in his voice.
"Calm down. I asked last week. Stop panicing." She said flapping her right hand in his face. A car horn sounded, which did it's job of attracting attention. The teen's turned around to see Alfred stepping out of the limo to open the door for the youngsters. The two smile at each other and they ran over to the limo.
"Hey Alfred" The two said at the same time. Eli hugged the man.
"How are you?" she asked then watched Dick throw the bags in the open door and climb into it.
"I am perfectly well Miss. Soloman" Alfred replied.
"Oh please, how many times do I have to say it? Eli or Elissa." She said with a grin.
"Elissa it is" Alfred said then hurded her into the limo next to Dick. He closed the door after her. Eli turned in her seat to face Dick, she crossed her legs and brought them to her chest. She sighed with joy
"So! What are we doing when we get to your house?" She asked.
"Well, I have a french tutor at five. So you can just train in the gym or watch me. Although I don't think Bruce will like that very much." Dick said. They both laughed at the last comment. Alfred turned his head slightly but he still kept his eyes on the road.
"No Master Richard, he will not like it. Especially after what happened with your piano teacher." Alfred pointed out. That afternoon could have turned out better (That's a story for another time) "We are amost home sir" Alfred added. 'How long have we been driving' thought Eli 'Time's gone fast. Either that or Alfie has picked up some driving tips'.
The old limo pulled up into the drive and Alfred stepped out to open the door for the two but before he could get there the door swung open and Eli and Dick raced up the steps and into the mansion. Alfred shook his head and laughed to himself. 'Those children will cause caos' Alfred thought. They raced into the kitchen where Bruce sat reading the Daily Planet. He normally read two paper's everyday, the Gotham Times and the Daily Planet. He looked up in surprise at the two. Dick pulled off his sleeveless wooly vest over his head and flung it onto the counter. Leaving him in his school shirt. He rolled up his sleeves and grabbed two orange juices from the fridge. He threw one at Eli and to Bruce's surprise she caught it with one hand, when she wasn't looking. Dick smirked and said
"I won" then he sipped his juice.
"Unfair advantage. You were first out of the car" she smiled a little but it was a pouty face. Bruce laughed at the two of them. He'd never known two more competative people. Other than himself and Oliver Queen when they were in business. He folded up his paper,
"You two have a nice day in school?" he asked.
"I got 100% in a math test. Prof. Edwards sprung it on us at the last minute. Eli got 99%, I thought i'd point that out." Dick said then smirked at Eli. Eli returned his gaze and put her hands on her hips
"Whatever! Drama dep. made me sing Set Fire To Rain by Adele on stage today. I kicked ass. Oh yeah and another thing! While the squad was training, Dick's gym class did track and field. Did you know he's not the fastest boy? A boy called Marcus Trent is. I thought i'd tell you" Eli added. Now it was more of a glaring contest, not staring, glaring. Next thing you know there's daggers flying as the war rages on.
"That's because he's on the football team!" Dick said. They moved towards eachother until they were face to face. Only inches apart. They both had their arms crossed and they were trying to intimidate eachother. Eli had stopped growing now but Dick hadn't, one day he'd be taller than her. Bruce cut in
"Dick maybe you should try out for the team" Bruce raised his eyes waiting for the answer. Eli laughed.
"Paha! Dick and football. No. Way. I see boys the same size as you try out. Then they get flattened. In the first five minutes." If it was even possible Dick moved closer to Eli again.
"My size huh" Dick said. Now they both want to fight. Badly.
"Yep" Eli said then pushed Dick a little. "Even I can move you" She said. Dick's tounge moved around in his mouth. He was irritated at the fact he was stronger than her and faster and agile. Infact he was probably stronger than all the boys on the team and could kick there butts. However, he wasn't allowed to show it. He also didn't hit girls unless it was in a sparring match. All he wanted right now was for Bruce to say 'Take this to the gym'. And thank God he did.
"Alright you two. You wanna express what your feeling. Go spar in the gym. Not in the kitchen" Bruce said sternly. They both tried to trip eachother up as they ran out of the room. Alfred walked in and folded up Dick's vest jumper.
"Those two children sir" he put the drinks back in the fridge "Are and will be unstoppable." Bruce nodded in agreement.
"Your right" He got up and stretched "They're going to be friends for the rest of their lives" Bruce chuckled "Probably something more. If he's lucky enough. Elissa is strong. Mentally and physically." Bruce checked his watch "He's finally found someone who's not pretending".
