FANFIC: FINALLY_3

- 09:27 Wayne Manor -

"Race you to the kitchen!" Eli and Dick said at the same time. They ran out of the teen boy's room and slid down the banisters rails of the stairs, Eli skidded to a hault when she landed but Dick landed gracefully. They glanced at eachother and grinned then ran into the kitchen at full speed almost running over Bruce in the process. 'Woah' Bruce thought. He then changed his direction back to the kitchen where he came from. Alfred was cooking breakfast when the teens raced into the kitchen.

"I win!" They both said at the same time again. They glared at eachother. Bruce walked in before the arguements started and he hurded them onto stools at the island.

"It was a draw now both of you sit down and don't start." He sat in a stool on the oppisite side. "I was on my way to wake you up and tell you that Eli's mother called."

"Ahh what does she want now?" Eli asked

"She just wanted to know if you slept well and I invited her round for a quick chat this morning. She should be here any minute. You didn't tell me she was a member of Gotham Fire Brigade." he said in a surprised town.

"Heh I guess I forgot" She said rubbing the back of her neck. When she woke up she got out of bed quietly so as not to wake up Dick and put her hair up. She only lets it down to go to sleep. Both the teens left their pjs on as it was a Saturday. Eli wore her purple vest top, purple bottoms and her bandage from yesterday's accident. Dick wore a Philadelphia Phillies personalised name t-shirt which read "Dick. G 13" on the back and olympic training shorts which went down to his knees. "Hey can I take this off now?" she asked Dick pointing to her injury.

"I guess so" he said. Eli unwrapped it and put the bandages in the bin. Dick turned his head as there was a knock at the door. Alfred advanced to the door and opened it slightly. He learnt over the years of living with the Batman you must be carefull when you open the front door.

"Ahh Mrs. Soloman. Eli your mother has arrived" Alfred called and he let her in.

"Greeeat" Eli mumbled under her breathe. Dick heared this and grinned. He whispered

"She isn't that bad" Dick said

"You don't know her like I do" she hissed back. "Mom!" She said as her mother bustled in. Eli stood up and gave her mother, who was hardly taller than she was, a hug. She was wearing her t-shirt with the department logo on it, insulated pants held up by suspenders and steel toe boots. She held her goggles and insulated gloves in one hand.

"Wow. I've been in this house many times before. I'm still amazed." She said. She had a strong greek accent. Eli's mother placed her hand on Eli's shoulder "Are you being a good girl for Mr. Wayne?"

"Mitéra! I'm not six i'm thirteen." Eli argued. Dick tried to contain his laughter. Bruce sensed Eli's temper rising and cut in

"She been a delight Mrs. Soloman. I'm sure she will be fine tonight also." Bruce said

"Oh yes well. Did you hear the storm last night?" She asked. Eli's mother still dazed everytime she saw Bruce.

"Yes I did. And apparently so did they." Bruce said cocking his eyebrows towards the teens. Remembering at that moment that Dick and Eli slept in the same bed last night due to the storm. A small blush appeared on their faces.

"Mom can you just go now. Don't you have to be at work or something?" Eli asked trying to get rid of her mother.

"I figured I drop by here first before going to the station. I can see i'm not needed. Goodbye " she said shaking his hand "You too Mr. Pennyworth." she shook his hand too. "And you Dick. Don't let Eli get hurt will you" she asked

"That'll never happen." Dick answered with a smile.

"Good" She turned to Eli and kissed her on the forehead "S'agapo"

"Yeah you too Mom. Bye now" She said pointing towards the door. Her mother shook her head, chuckled, and gave a wave as she walked out the door.

"We'll call you later Mrs. Soloman!" Bruce shouted as the door closed. "Eli. I did need to talk to her about something."

"Sorry Mr. Wayne" Eli said looking down "She is just really embarrassing"

"I needed to ask her if you are allowed to come to the museum with us. I have to open a new section. They told us that we can bring one guest. I'm bringing Vicky Vale." Bruce said but he was cut off

"And I was gunna ask you. You know as friends" Dick said twidling his fingers.

"Sure" Eli answered

"Really?" Dick said shocked

"Urrm yeah" Eli smiled and punched him in the arm gently. "What made you think i'd say no stupid?" She teased

"No reason. Stupid" he said back grinning.

"I'll call her now" Bruce said leaving the room. Alfred laid the teens their breakfast on the table and they began to eat. Ten minutes later Bruce walked back in.

"You can go. She said just don't mess around. And i'm saying that to you too Dick. The press is going to be there. The news channels."

"The who and the what now?" Eli said choking on her toast.

"Just don't make a fool of yourself and you'll be fine" Dick grinned as he patting her back.

"I won't make any promises. And you do know that that doesn't help my coughing" Eli said gripping Dick's wrist. Dick laughed and pulled out of her grip. 'This will be exciting' thought Alfred.
