280Now that you have taken Japanese Words & Phrases 101, here it is! The first chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Rise of the Meklords! Also, before I forget, a few OC's courtesy of Duelist of Dawn will be in this story, it's not until later on, however, Chapter 2 of this story will introduce the first of Duelist of Dawn's OC's. Chapter 1: We Have To Save The World Again?
New Domino City… a metropolis city where even the highest class of citizens resides. Satellite, an island where poverty was endless and criminals run amok. At least, that's what it used to be. Six months ago, a group of people known as the Signers have defeated the Dark Signers and it was thanks to them that New Domino City and Satellite were reunited by the Daedalus Bridge. These Signers consists of Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas, Akiza Izinski, The Twins Leo and Luna even though Leo is not a Signer, Crow Hogan, and last but not least Kurogasa Kururugi. During the first weeks of those six months, The Signers decided to go public about everything that happened six months ago. It went as far as to them having a press conference. Of course, exposing everything would bring chaos and anarchy among the people, but then again, they had the right to know the truth. It was shaky during that time after they told the people of New Domino City, but rest assured, the Signers have assured the people, that with them, they can move on forward and towards the future. And they have made progress. During that time, roads were now built specifically for Turbo Duels, and it still continues to thrive. Other than that, life returned to normal. Or did it?
In outer space, a giant stone tablet tumbles down towards the Earth in the direction of Japan, it continued to plummet down until it crash landed at the outskirts of the city making a huge crater with the stone tablet still intact. Four white hooded figures arrive at the crater formed by the tablet and gaze up at the stone structure, which remains intact. The trio consists of an old man, two young adults, while the third looks more child-like. Each of them have something covering one of their eyes.
"Looks like my tablet's the first one to arrive." One of the young adults said. "Sorry Placido."
"Hmph." Placido scoffed.
"Darn, it's Valter's card isn't it?" The boy asked.
"Hmph. You mean that as in, they won't even cause us any problem, don't you?" The old man asked.
"If I'm first in line, then, Lucciano, Jose, there's practically no chance you two will ever get a turn up." Valter said. Just then, sirens are heard. Lazar and a group of Securities pull up in squad cars. Lazar slides down the crater making his way over to the trio.
"Who are you?" Lazar demanded. "This area is off-limits!"
"It seems our entourage has appeared." Jose said turning to the group.
"Perfect. You people, carry this out." Valter said.
"What? Who do you think-" Lazar began, but was cut off when Placido pointed his sword at his face.
"I will return that same line back to you, you bug-eyed clown." Placido said.
"Bug-eyed clown?" Lazar asked fuming over this.
"From now on, we'll be your leader." Lucciano laughed.
"Wait, hold on, you're from Yliaster?" Lazar realized and then bowed down. "I'm sorry! Forgive my rudeness!" He apologized. He got back up and turned to his squad of Securities. "Alright, you heard them! Transport this tablet over to Sector Security HQ on the double! Don't dilly-dally!" Lazar ordered.
"Yes sir!" The police saluted and went to work on that. While doing that, Valter looked at his tablet and grinned evilly. 'I think I should test its power right away…' he thought.
Several days later…
At night time, a man on a Duel Runner gets chased by a monster, who is barely visible in his visor. Later that night, Security are investigating the incident. Mina and Trudge, who has been promoted to chief, arrive at the scene and show their IDs, granting them entry. They are shown the man's now very mangled Duel Runner.
"So how's the victim?" Trudge asked.
"He's in a hospital right now in critical condition, but is still unconscious." An officer answered.
"Looks like we won't get a statement from him, then." Mina murmured.
"Man, this is insane. Looks like Ghost's handwork, huh?" Trudge sighed.
"This is the fifth time this happened. We need to take action."
The next day…
We now turn our attention to a basement. There we see Yusei, Jack, Crow, and Kurogasa working on a new engine. It was the weekend for Kurogasa, so he's got time to help out the other guys. Jack was on a prototype Runner testing the new engine, while Yusei, Crow, and Kurogasa monitor its progress.
"Output is at 70%… 75%… 80%…" Yusei said.
"Nice Jack! Just keep it going!" Crow said.
"Leave it to me! There's nothing Jack Atlas can't do!" The Former King said as he accelerated even faster. Then a warning alarm was heard on the computer. This was bad… really bad.
"Jack, decelerate! You're gonna overload the engine!" Yusei yelled.
"What? I can't hear you!" Jack yelled over the engine sound and continued to accelerate. Just then, the engine started to glow red and was overheating. Everyone knew what that meant.
"HIT THE DECK!" Kurogasa yelled.
BOOOOOOOOOM!
Outside the Fountain Plaza, clouds of smoke burst out of the building they were in, startling many people in the area. Inside, smoke was all over the place and the boys were coughing from all the smoke.
"Everyone alright?" Yusei asked.
"Yeah, I'll manage." Crow groaned.
"What happened Yusei?" Jack demanded. Everyone looked and saw the prototype Runner and engine, all exploded into pieces of rubble.
"Looks like we took it too far." Yusei sighed.
"You think? *cough* *cough*, geez Jack, blow up the entire place why don't ya?" Kurogasa said sarcastically. "You know Zora is gonna get pissed at this." Kurogasa said sarcastically.
"Yeah, you overdid it this time." Crow agreed.
"You told me to max out the acceleration!" Jack argued.
"Oh? So, a man of Jack Atlas's caliber just meekly followed orders with a "Yes sir, right on it," when told by someone else, huh? If there's a weird noise like that midstream, you'd normally decelerate, wouldn't you?"
"What was that?" Jack yelled grabbing Crow by the lapels of his Blackbird Delivery jacket.
"You wanna tussle?"
"You boys again?" An old lady's voice yelled. They turned to see who it was at the doorway, and it was the landlord who is letting them stay at the basement Zora. Everyone else in the Fountain Plaza were looking inside the Poppo Time basement seeing what all the commotion was about.
"Zora…" Crow bugged out.
"That annoying old wench…" Jack grumbled.
"Watch your tone! I let you stay because you know Martha, but if you're gonna cause problems, then you can take a hike!" Zora scolded.
"Hold on! It was an accident! We had our new engine-"
"Always quick with the excuses!" Zora interrupted, which got Jack to bug out. "Any self-respecting man would face up to what they've done!"
"We're sorry, Zora." Yusei apologized.
"We kinda got a little carried away in a test…" Kurogasa sheepishly laughed scratching the back of his head.
"Oh don't you worry about it Yusei and Kurogasa." Zora said with her expression suddenly changing from annoying to calm and more affectionate. "One or two failures are fine." She continued walking towards the two. "After all, failures are the quickest route to success!" she then whispered to Yusei, "Listen, I'm technically your landlord, so I need to tell you off for the time being, okay? You too Kurogasa, even though you're not staying here."
"Uh… sure." Kurogasa said.
"O…kay." Yusei same in the same expression. Just then, siren could be heard outside the basement and Mina and Trudge came out of their car. Zora was about to speak until, "It's alright, you can relax. We're here for unrelated business." Trudge said.
"Oh? Is that so?" Zora asked. The Four Signers then came out of the basement they were in.
"We need to talk to you four." Mina said.
Inside…
"Man, you're still working on that engine?" Trudge asked.
"Yep. With the WRGP coming up, we gotta really step it up." The Haos Duelist answered.
"He's right. We absolutely need a new engine to win the WRGP in a year or so." Yusei said while picking a part of the once then made engine.
"Entries are in three-man groups, after all." The Blackwing Duelist added. "Since we're improving three machines, no amount of time will be enough time for us."
"Hey, you're forgetting me here. I'm your back-up for the Grand Prix." Kurogasa reminded him.
"Yeah, yeah, I know that." Crow waved off.
"The first Grand Prix will be held here in New Domino City. The winners will become legends in the Turbo Duel World, and attaining that glory is our dream." The Former King said.
"To think that's the reason why you've been working jobs while slaving away at building your machines." Trudge said. "I'm sure you guys could get as many sponsors as you want."
"Naw, we don't need them." Crow said.
"What's the point of a tournament if you can't win it on your own?" Kurogasa asked.
"He's right. With the City and Satellite finally united, we were given a chance to be citizens. But, as to what we can do or how we can contribute to this city – I think that'll come into view by winning this tournament. That is why we want to do this by our own hands." Yusei said.
"Hmph. Bunch of wise guys." Trudge scoffed.
"Anyways, didn't you have something that you wanted to talk about?" Kurogasa asked.
"Oh yes. Have you heard about the rumors about Ghost?' Mina asked.
"Ghost?" Yusei asked.
"Yeah, I'm familiar." Crow answered.
"You mean, the guy that crops up every night, challenges you to a duel, and make you crash?" Kurogasa asked.
"That's the one." Trudge answered. "Ever since the City and Satellite were unified, they haven't regulated Turbo Duels on the highway. Instead, it's gotten to the point where they built and advocated special courses. Speed World 2 was developed from the traditional Speed World as an official card for the WRGP. And Turbo Duelists are gathering from every corner of the world, which has the whole city charged up."
"There are also guys among them that are knocking out other Turbo Duelists in advance, right?" Crow asked.
"The problem is in how he's doing it. In a normal Turbo Duel, it would never produce accidents that would hurt the opponents." Mina explained.
"Then, you're saying that this Ghost is using some unlawful means to make his opponent's crash?" The Former King asked.
"That would be the case."
"Man, it's like the Dark Signers all over again, only without the Geoglyph and Earthbound Immortals or whatever." Kurogasa groaned.
"Wait, are you saying…" Crow began.
"Yeah, we want ya to help us crack this case. How about it Yusei?" Trudge asked.
"Well, I don't mind…" Yusei answered.
"Hold up, we're busy preparing for the Grand Prix!" Crow protested. "Yusei's developing the machines; Jack and I are working so hard we barely sleep, all to raise the funds! And for Kurogasa… well, he's helping when he can when's he not at school. And you're suggesting we tread thin ice like that? No way!" He then pushed Mina and Trudge out of the basement. "You're throwing us off task, now! Scram! Scram!" He then closed the door on them and locked the door. "Now, let's get back to those tests.
"Uh, sure." Yusei said.
"Yeah…" Jack said.
But Kurogasa was silent. He was pondering about what Mina and Trudge said just now. 'I got a bad feeling about this. Why do I get the feeling that somehow, someway, we're gonna have to save the world again?'
That night...
Kurogasa was standing in the darkness. He couldn't see anything until he saw a bright white light. He ran towards the light, and as soon as he was out of the darkness, his eyes widened in shock. New Domino City was in ruins. The roads were destroyed, buildings were on fire, dead bodies were on the ground. He was speechless. He then heard the sound of what sounded like a big machine. He turned around and he looked terrified. It was a huge robot. Light red in color scheme. Its head has a single eye with a symbol inside of it. One of its arms had a laser gun and a small hand, with the other having a shield shaped like a V emitting electricity and the bottom has a tank like body. It noticed Kurogasa and pointed its laser gun at him. He tried to move, but he was so paralyzed in fear, then… the laser gun fired at him.
"AHHHH!" Kurogasa screamed jolted up sitting on his bed. He was panting heavily, his heartbeat was rapid, ice cold sweat fell from his face, and he was overcome with exhaustion. He looked at this clock and it only read 11:30. He slowly started to calm down. 'What was that?' He wondered.
"Kurogasa?" A feminine voice called. He turned his head to see his Mom standing at the doorway and then she went over to her son.
"Mom… What are you doing up?"
"I heard you scream." Mom said walking over to her son. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a nightmare, that's all." Kurogasa assured his mom. "Sorry for worrying ya." Just then, his cell phone started to ring. He opened the phone to answer it. "Hello... Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down Crow. What is it? What!... Alright, I'll be right there." He hung up.
"What's wrong?" Mom asked.
"Trudge has been hurt." Kurogasa said as he was changing from his night clothes to his regular clothes.
"What? When?" Mom gasped.
"Just now. I'm heading over to New Domino Hospital now. I'll be back." Kurogasa said starting to leave.
"Be careful." Mom said. The Haos Duelist nodded and left his room. A few minutes later, he arrived at New Domino Hospital. Yusei, Jack, Crow, and Mina were already there. "Hey guys, how's Trudge?" he asked running up to him.
"We don't know. All I know from an officer that told us was that Ghost showed up and that he tried to care of Ghost himself."
"What!" Kurogasa exclaimed. Just then, a rolling stretcher was coming in and Trudge was bandaged up. He was hurt pretty badly. The Four Signers went to his bed side.
"Trudge!" Yusei said. He didn't respond for a couple of seconds, but then, he said to the boys, "Don't… use Synchros… against Ghost…" He was then taken to the operation room.
"Trudge…" Kurogasa murmured.
"Why did you let Trudge do that?" Jack asked Mina.
"He said that we shouldn't rely on all of you anymore and offered to act as bait. This is all my fault…"
Back at the basement…
"Damn it!" Crow said punching the wall. "This is all my fault. I shouldn't have… If only we'd cooperate…"
"Stop it Crow. It's not your fault." The Haos Duelist said. "This was Ghost's doing and his doing alone."
"He's right. What's done is done. Besides, if Trudge was taken down that much, this 'Ghost' must be one substantial player." The Satellite said.
"And that's why we can't just sit around twiddling our thumbs!" Crow yelled. Yusei then chucked his helmet over to him. Yusei, Jack, and Kurogasa were already getting ready to go.
"Who says we'd be twiddling our thumbs Crow?" the Haos Duelist asked. "Trudge is our friend, and we're gonna avenge him."
"Aw right!" Crow said now all fired up as they started up their engines. The garage door opened up and all four Runners headed up the ramp and on to the freeway of New Domino City. They got up to four paths on the highways and the four of them split up, one on each freeway. "Alright Ghost, come out where we can see ya!"
"Bring it on, Ghost!" Jack declared. Hours have passed and it seems that Ghost hasn't appeared yet, but they still continued to search for him, so they could avenge Trudge. At about 5:10, there's still no sign of Ghost.
"Man, Ghost is not here. And it's almost sunrise." Crow said.
"Don't worry, he's gonna show. It's just of matter of when even though we've been riding this long." Jack said.
"Jack's right. We have to keep searching." Yusei added.
"I don't know. Maybe he really isn't-" Kurogasa then saw something flash on his rear view screen. "Wait; hold up, I got something." He scanned the unknown rider and the Runner that rider was riding on and all of it displayed 'UNKNOWN' on the screen. "Guys, I found Ghost! Or rather, Ghost found me! Lock on to my coordinates!"
"What?" Yusei asked.
"Ghost?" Jack asked as well.
"Finally showed up, did he?" Crow asked.
"FI-RUDO MAHO! SUPIDO WARUDO TSU! SETTO ON!" Kurogasa yelled pressing a button on his runner.
DUEL MODE. AUTOPILOT ON. STAND BY
The words 'DUEL MODE' appeared on both screens then showed the playing field and speed counters. The aura of Speed World expanded out. The duel lane signs shot up showing the duel lane identification # 19247-B and a holographic wall that read DUEL appeared as well on the other side of the road.
A DUEL WILL BE STARTING. A DUEL WILL BE STARTING. ALL OTHER VEHICLES PLEASE DIVERGE IMMEDIATELY. A DUEL WILL BE STARTING. A DUEL WILL BE STARTING. ALL OTHER VEHICLES PLEASE DIVERGE IMMEDIATELY. A computerized voice said. The other vehicles moved out of the way for the Runners to pass by. Sections of the duel lane rose up so it connects to the main duel lane for Kurogasa and Ghost to duel on. Once those sections were up, Kurogasa and Ghost were soon on the main duel lane.
LANE SELECTION. TWO OPTIMUM, USABLE LANES. CENTRAL LANE CHOSEN. AUTHORIZATION.
"Let's go Ghost!" Kurogasa declared.
"RAIDINGU DYUERU! AKUSERARESHON!"
Kurogasa: 4000/SPC: 0
Ghost: 4000/SPC: 0
"Watashi no ta-n!" Ghost declared and drew his sixth card. "Boido Koa (Void Core) o shōkan!" A light red colored opened shaped egg with black markings and black crystals emitting a red light came out (1) (ATK: 0/DEF: 0). "Kado ichi mai settei, ta-n endo!"
"A monster with 0 attack points?" Kurogasa asked himself. "I have a bad feeling about this." He then turned to his deck. "Ore no ta-n!" He declared and drew his sixth card.

Ghost's SPC: 1
"Haos Hynoid o shōkan!" A white fur werewolf like creature appeared on Kurogasa's field (4) (ATK: 1300/DEF: 1000). "Now Haos Hynoid, attack Ghost's Void Core!" Kurogasa ordered. The werewolf creature charged for the core ready to strike with its claws.
"Torapu hatsudou! Kōgeki no Muryokuka (Negate Attack)! It cancels your attack immediately!" Ghost countered. A clear swirling vortex appeared in front of the red egg and stopped Hynoid's claws. The werewolf then retreated back to Kurogasa.
"So he's protecting it for some reason huh? I better prepare myself. If something big is coming up, I better be ready for it." Kurogasa mused to himself. "Kado ni mai settei, ta-n endo!"
"Watashi no ta-n!" Ghost declared and drew a card.

"Hehehehe… I got you now." Ghost chuckled. Kurogasa didn't like the sound of that. "I activate the Speed Spell – High Speed Crash! With my speed counters at two, I can destroy one card I control and one other card. So I destroyed one of your facedowns and Void Core!"
"But why do that?" Kurogasa asked incredulously as Void Core and one of his facedown, which was Mirror Force, was destroyed.
"Because, when Void Core is destroyed via an effect, all cards on my side of the field are destroyed, and I can special summon these cards to my field from my hand or deck. Kikōtei Vayra Infinity! Vayra Toppu, Vayra Atakku, Vayra Gado, Vayra Kyariā o toshuku shōkan!" Vayra aside from the Infinity Symbol in the middle has a light red scheme (1) (ATK: 0/DEF: 0). The Top has a single eye with a symbol inside of it. (1) (ATK: 600/DEF: 600). The Attack was equipped with a laser and a small hand (1) (ATK: 1500/DEF: 0), Guard has an extended shield shaped like a V and emit electricity (1) (ATK: 0/DEF: 1700), and the carrier has a tank like body (1) (ATK: 900/DEF: 700).
"WHAT? Five monsters summoned at once?" Kurogasa exclaimed.
"Don't get surprised just yet. Kikōtei Vayra Infinity no kouka hatsudou!" Ghost yelled. The infinity symbol opened up as if it were eyes showing a green colored light inside the black void and the five parts flew up in the air. The parts connected together to create one huge red robot (1) (ATK: 3000/DEF: 3000). As the sun rose up, Kurogasa's eyes widened with shock.
"No way! That's the same robot from my dream!" Kurogasa said surprised. "Could my dream actually come true?"
"Now, the show is about to begin!" Ghost laughed evilly.
Meanwhile, Leo and Luna run into the basement of Poppo Time. "Yusei! Kurogasa!" Leo called, but no one was around. No one except for Akiza.
"Akiza?" Luna asked.
"Akiza, what are you doing here?" Leo asked.
"Same as you two." The Plant Duelist answered.
"So, you felt it too Akiza?" Luna asked.
"Yes. The birthmarks are telling us Kurogasa is fighting. The birthmarks will tie us together no matter how far apart we are. But this time, the pain has an unsettling feeling about it." The Twins looked at each other feeling uneasy. "Kurogasa…" Akiza whispered with worry.
Back at the duel…
Yusei, Jack, and Crow managed to get to Kurogasa's location and went on the same duel lane Kurogasa and Ghost were on. They were just as shocked when they saw Ghost's monster.
"What the- What monster is that?" Crow asked.
"Don't know. I've never seen a monster like that before." Jack said.
Yusei scanned the monster on his duel screen. "What the- This monster is composed of five separate cards!"
"5 monsters? Is that even possible?" Crow asked.
"Who knows? I'm sure its power will sure be shown while Kurogasa's dueling this fellow." The Former King said.
"Now Meklord Emperor Vayra, attack his Haos Hynoid!" Ghost ordered. The red robot pointed its laser gun at Hynoid and fired a red laser beam at it. Hynoid was destroyed into pixels and Kurogasa started losing control of his Duel Runner.

Ghost: 4000/SPC: 2
He soon got back in control. "Torapu hatsudou! Kiseki no Zanshō (Miracle's Wake)! This trap card can let me bring back a monster from my graveyard that was destroyed in battle this turn! Return, Haos Hynoid!" Kurogasa said as a dark cloud appeared over him. A shining light shone from the dark cloud and Hynoid returned to the field.
"Hmph. You're a persistent one. Ta-n endo!" Ghost finished.
"Ore no ta-n!" Kurogasa declared and drew a card.

"I activate the Speed Spell – Angel Baton! With two or more Speed Counters, I can draw 2 cards and discard one to the graveyard." Kurogasa drew two and discarded one. "Soshite (Next), Haos El Condor o shokan!" The white skinny shaman with the large Aztec mask appeared (3) (ATK: 1300/DEF: 1100). "Haos El Condor no kouka hatsudou! On the turn it's summoned, I can alter the level of one of my Monsters for a Synchro Summon! I alter Haos Hynoid's level to be 5. Yellow energy surrounded the shaman and transferred it to the werewolf.
Haos Hynoid's level: 5
"With those levels…" Yusei began.
"He can call out Leonidas!" Crow cheered.
"I tune my level 5 Hynoid with my level 3 El Condor!" El Condor chanted ominous words and turned into three green rings and Hynoid turned into five stars. The stars lined up in the tunnel of rings.
"Shinzou no tamashii ga, piasu no hikari o kensaku to yami o uchikudaku! Shinkuro Shokan! Araware o, Haos Omega Leonidas!"
A beam of light shot out of the rings and then his ace white and yellow scaled dragon appeared (8) (ATK: 3000/DEF: 2500). Ghost just chuckled at this for some reason. "Haos Omega Leonidas no kouka hatsudou! Once per turn, I can absorb half of one monster's attack from my graveyard until the end of the turn, so now I absorb Hynoid's attack!" A faint image of the werewolf appeared and absorbed into Leonidas.
Haos Omega Leonidas – (ATK: 3650/DEF: 2500)
"That's more than Ghost's monster's attack points!" Jack exclaimed.
"Now Leonidas, attack Meklord Emperor Vayra with Omega Eraser!" Kurogasa ordered. Leonidas flew up; an Omega symbol appeared in front of the dragon's mouth and fired a huge blue laser beam at the red robot.
"I don't think so. Vayra Gado no kouka hatsudou! If my Meklord Emperor is targeted, I can switch the attack to this card!" Ghost countered as the v-shaped shield emitted electricity and the attack was redirected at it was destroyed.
"Grr… Kado ni mai settei, ta-n endo!" Kurogasa concluded. Leonidas's attack points returned to normal. Ghost's screen then changed seeing a profile on Kurogasa. "Well, well, well, I thought you were no ordinary fellow. Kurogasa Kururugi, one of the Signers that did away with Goodwin. And if my hunch is correct, the ones behind me watching this duel are Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas, and Crow Hogan. This is starting to get interesting." Ghost said to himself. "Watashi no ta-n!" Ghost declared and drew a card.

"Now Kurogasa Kururugi, the real terror starts now!" Ghost declared.
"Hold up a minute! I just need to ask you. Why are you after Turbo Duelists one after another even though you have such great power?" Kurogasa demanded.
"Turbo Duelists? I'm not after them. I'm simply eliminating what's unneeded in this world!" Ghost answered.
"What's unneeded?"
"The unneeded things you call "Synchro Monsters"! Synchro Monsters are the very symbols of human evolution. That is something the world does not need! Now, savor your experience, Kurogasa Kururugi, with the power of a Synchro Killer!"
"Synchro Killer?" Kurogasa asked shocked.
"Kikōtei Vayra Infinity no kouka hatsudou!" Ghost yelled. Vayra fires a number of energy beams, which strap themselves to Leonidas. "Leonidas!" Kurogasa cried. "Vayra Infinity will absorb a synchro monster on my opponent's field once per turn!
"What?" Kurogasa cried.
Leonidas struggled with all its might to break free, but it was no use as it was sucked into the machine never to return again.
"No way!" Jack cried.
"That machine just sucked up Leonidas!" Crow said in disbelief.
"Is this what Trudge meant not to use synchro monsters on Ghost?" Yusei wondered.
"This thing is a Synchro Monster-capture robot. No wonder Trudge was beaten easily." Kurogasa cringed. "This is worse than I expected it to be."
"Now Vayra's attack power will increase by the attack power of the equipped Synchro Monster! Omega Leonidas had 3000 attack points, so now added with Vayra's attack points of 3000, it's now 6000!"
Meklord Emperor Vayra ∞ - (ATK: 6000/DEF: 3000)
"An attack power of 6000?" Yusei exclaimed.
"If he gets hit with that, then it's over!" Jack realized.
"Now Vayra, attack Kurogasa directly!" Ghost ordered. Vayra readied its laser gun arm and pointed it at Kurogasa. The Haos Duelist was paralyzed with fear as he was in the same exact position he was in in the nightmare. Vayra then fired the laser. "Goodbye Kurogasa! May you suffer defeat at the hands of your own monster's power!
"KUROGASA!" Yusei, Jack, and Crow cried. That got him to snap out of it.
"Torapu hatsudou! Tairyoku Zōkyō Zai Sūpā Zetto (Nutrient Z)! If I'm about to take 2000 or more points of damage, I can increase my life points by 4000 before subtracting!" The Haos Duelist took the vial and drank the contents.

Vayra's laser then made a hit which made Kurogasa scream in pain and made him lose control of his Runner.
"KUROGASA!" His friends cried.
Kurogasa: 300/SPC: 4
Ghost: 4000/SPC: 4
He soon steadied himself on the Runner while panting heavily. "Hehehehe… I'll end your torture for now. Ta-n Endo." Ghost chuckled.
"Oh man, Kurogasa's in trouble, he can't take another hit if this keeps up." The Blackwing Duelist said getting worried for him.
"All we can do now is hope that he can win this turn." Yusei said.
"Let's hope you're right." Jack added.
"Ore no… ta-n…" Kurogasa barely said and drew a card.

"I activate the Speed Spell – Overboost! Now I gain four more speed counters!"
Kurogasa's SPC: 9

"Soshite, Supido Warudo Tsu no kouka hatsudou! By removing 7 speed counters, I'm allowed to draw one more card."

'Please. Let this be the one I need to turn this around.' Kurogasa thought. Just then, his Mark of the Body glowed. "Huh?"
"My Mark." Yusei said as his Head Mark glowed.
"What?" Crow said as his Tail Mark was glowing.
"Looks like Savior Dragon is here to save the day." Jack said as his Wings Mark glowed.
Back at Poppo Time…
"The Birthmarks…" Akiza began with her Rear Claw Mark glowing.
"They're shining." Leo said.
"Kurogasa's need our help." Luna said with her Front Claw Mark glowing.
Back to the duel…
All of the Marks of the Dragon disappeared making the full seal appear on Kurogasa's back. "The full seal of the Crimson Dragon… I see! You're lending your support!" He turned his head to Ghost. "Ghost! Regardless of what means you use, our evolution will never stop! This is the proof!" The top card of Kurogasa's deck glowed. "Doro!" He shouted and drew that card. "Seivaa Doragon o shokan!" The small pink, curvy headed dragon with big yellow eyes appeared (1) (ATK: 0/DEF: 0). "And thanks to summoning it, I can special summon this card from my hand! Wanshotto Būsutā o tokushu shōkan!" Rally's favorite monster appeared on the field (1) (ATK: 0/DEF: 0). "But I'm not done yet! Torapu hatsudou! Shinkuro Materiaru (Synchro Material)! Synchro Material allows me to use the necessary monsters off my opponent's field when performing a Synchro Summon!"
"What?" Ghost roared.
"That's right! So come back, Haos Omega Leonidas!" Kurogasa yelled. The Infinity symbol on Vayra's chest opened and Leonidas came back returning to Kurogasa's side of the field.
"Leonidas!" Yusei exclaimed.
"You did it Kurogasa!" Crow cheered.
"Things are turning around now." Jack smirked.
"And now I tune my level 8 Haos Omega Leonidas and level 1 Turbo Booster, with my level 1 Savior Dragon!" Kurogasa said. The monsters flew up in the air. Savior Dragon then turned transparent and grew very large as a green ring formed inside it. Leonidas turned into 8 stars and Turbo Booster into 1 star making the total 9. The nine stars lined up in the green ring inside Savior Dragon.
"Kibō to jihi no hikari wa kokoro no kurai jōka suru! Sono kagayaki wa sukui ni bīkon to akarui mirai ni natte miyou! Shinkuro Shoukan! Kouraiseyo, Haos Savior Leonidas!"
A beam of light shot out of Savior Dragon and what took its place was the evolved form of Omega Leonidas (10) (ATK: 4000/DEF: 3000). "And since Leonidas is not equipped to your Meklord Emperor, it's attack points go down!"
Meklord Emperor Vayra∞ - (ATK: 3000/DEF: 3000).
"Haos Savior Leonidas no kouka hatsudou! I remove five light attributes from the game and they receive their total attack! So I remove Omega Leonidas, El Condor, and Hynoid!" The faint images of the three said monsters appeared and were absorbed into Leonidas.
Haos Savior Leonidas – (ATK: 9600/DEF: 3000)
"I'll place this card facedown, and I'll activate it!" Kurogasa yelled.
"You can't do that! You just set it down!" Ghost argued.
"Not when I have this! I activate the Speed Spell version of Bait Doll! If I have 2 or more speed counters, which I do, I can force the activation of a trap card, so I activate the card I just set down!" The card opened up to Ghost's horror.
"No! Not that!" Ghost cried.
"That's right! Meteor Rain, which means this turn, I can do piercing damage to you! Since you don't have Vayra Guard to defend you,you're screwed! Haos Savior Leonidas, attack Vayra Top! Omega Supernova!" Kurogasa yelled. Leonidas flew over to its head while Vayra tried to shoot the dragon down, only to fail. Leonidas gathered up light from itself. The light grew larger and larger until…
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
"Wow! Now's that what I called a headshot." Crow said.
The head of Vayra was decapitated and the rest of the machine exploded as well. Ghost screamed as his life points depleted.
Kurogasa: 300/SPC: 2
Ghost: 0/SPC: 5
Ghost then suddenly lost control and flew over the duel lane, only to land on the ground with the Runner exploding in flames. "What the-" Kurogasa said and stopped his Runner. Yusei, Jack, and Crow stopped their Runners as well. "We gotta get down there!" The other agreed and they made their way.
Meanwhile…
Valter walked towards Ghost, who was still in intact… somewhat while electricity sparked out of the runner. He then took his deck. "Hmph. Kurogasa Kururugi. Interesting. We'll settle this in due time." Valter said and with that he left. Minutes later, the Four Signers ran up to Ghost.
"Hey, you okay?" Yusei asked.
"We're getting you to the hospital." Crow said moving towards Ghost, but as soon as he touched the arm, it fell off and it dropped with a clank. It turned out that it was a mechanical arm and the rest of Ghost's body was mechanical. "What the-"
"What is he?" Jack asked. The Satellite Duelist looked at Ghost at closer inspection and realized who Ghost was.
"No way… Ghost is… a robot!" Yusei exclaimed.
"A robot?" Jack asked in the same expression.
"What's going on?" Kurogasa wondered.
A few days later when Trudge was healed up…
Everyone met up at the basement of Poppo Time. There Yusei showed photographs of Ghost.
"This is something that Security currently has under development – the Riding Roid." Trudge explained.
"Riding Roid?" Yusei asked.
"To put it briefly, it's a robot specifically made to clamp down on Duel Runner crimes."
"The prototype was stolen ten days ago. Who would've thought that to be who Ghost really was, though." Mina said.
"So who did it?" Jack asked.
"No clue. With the damage from the duel turning real and this prototype being stolen from Security, there's a whole lot we don't know." Trudge answered. "I sure wish the memory chip had made it, though.
"There's no data preserved in the Turbo Duel chip." Yusei said tossing the chip to Trudge.
"Damn. I bet that chip was programmed to delete everything if it lost." Kurogasa growled.
"Man, I wanted to see that robot myself." Leo said looking at the picture.
"Leo, people got hurt because of this!" Luna scolded.
"Sorry…"
"You know, that robot thing I saw, Meklord Emperor Vayra, I saw it in a dream." Kurogasa said shuddering at that with uneasiness.
"What? You saw Vayra in a dream?" Yusei asked in surprise.
"Yeah, I saw that, and New Domino City in ruins." This got everyone to feel uneasy. "I don't know what that dream meant. I don't know if it's a warning or if it's the future we're gonna have, I don't know… But just the thought of it…" Kurogasa continued to shudder. That's when Akiza held Kurogasa close to calm him down, which he did, but was still kinda uneasy. "Whatever it is… I have this feeling that we're gonna have to save the world again… I don't want that dream to come true."
"You might be right." Yusei agreed. "What's clear is that we have a new enemy in our midst. If they're trying to endanger this city, then we'll continue to fight."
