Why is she doing this, she promised that she would just disappear.

Rainbow heard Connor's truck pull into the driveway and went out to meet him.

"Your home early" "Yeah finished some stuff early, what's wrong Rain" "We need to talk" "About what" "Just come inside so we wont be disturbed.

As soon as Connor put his stuff down Rainbow turned to face him.

"This morning when I went to wake Nilo up he wasn't in his room" "Where was he" "I looked out the window and saw him standing in the ocean with the water up to his waist" "Why was he down there" "He said that he didn't know I that he must be sleepwalking" "What else did he say"

"He said that he had a strange dream and that he saw Sapphire again" "Again but she hasn't been seen in years" "I know and he said that she also talked too him again. He actually asked her what she wanted and he said that she told him that when he came back he would know"

"Is trying to lure him into Ingo for some reason" "I don't know but I don't care. She gave him to us and promised to disappear. We've raised him, he's our son and I won't let her drag him back to Ingo with her" "Rainbow calm down" "I will not calm down he's ours, if she wants him then she should have kept him"

"Maybe something has changed and she wants him back" "NO I WON"T LET HER" "Your right Rainbow he is ours and Sapphire has taken to much from me already I won't let her take back Nilo. We will keep him out of Ingo even if we have to move to the middle of a desert"

"See you tomorrow Sam" "See you Nilo" As Nilo got off the bus he heard his parents yelling from inside the cabin.

What's going on in there, why is mom yelling like that, and who I she talking about?

Nilo opened the door and his parent instantly stopped what they where doing. "Nilo your home" "What are you guys yelling about" "Nothing" "Alright if you don't want to tell me then you don't have to, I'm going to do homework"

"Nilo wait there's something we do want to talk about with you" "Alright talk" "We don't want you going down to the cove for a while" "Why?" "Well just with all the things that have been happening down there we think that it would me safer if you stayed out if there for a few weeks" "Whatever"

Stay out of the cove; they must be scared about the woman that I keep seeing. But I don't care I'll sneak down there tonight if I have to.

That night Nilo silently made his way out if the cabin and down to the beach. He saw he sitting on the rocks waiting for him just like she promised.

"You actually came" "Of course I did nothing could have stopped me from learning more about you" "Well what would you like to know" "First I just have a question about something that happened last night" "Go ahead" "Well when I came down here last night it was only ten o'clock and then suddenly it was past midnight"

"Yes that happens when you are in Ingo" "Ingo?" "Yes Ingo is the sea and since I am a part of Ingo you time change applied to you" "Well that helps clear things up. Second question, do most of you mer interact with people on land?" "No as I said last night I am breaking the law by doing it, there are no others that do this that I know of"

"Why do you ask" "Well there's this one woman that I keep seeing and I've had a dream that she was mer" "That is strange but I cannot help you with that question" "Well I have one really easy question" "And that would be" "What's your name, I forgot to ask fir it last night" "Well if you must know it my name is Nala" "I'm Nilo" "Interesting name"

"Well then Nala can you describe Ingo for me" "I can do better than that would you like to see it for yourself" "How I don't have any diving gear and I can only hold my breath for so long" "You do not need those thing I will help you" "How"

"Here take my wrist and hold on tight" "Alright" "Ready here we go"

They plunged into the water and for a moment Nilo felt like he was about to die. The water was freezing and the pressure was pressing down around him. But then it was like a switch flipped and he could breath, the temperature was no concern and the pressure receded.

"I am surprised" "What, wait a minute am I talking underwater" "Yes and I'm very surprised, most humans have a hard time realising air" "Really" "Yes we try to save many when they crack their ships but they cannot let go of air and drown"

It was then that Nilo really looked around and saw just how beautiful the sea really was. "Its beautiful down here" "Yes and humans destroy it with their oil and pollution"

Suddenly Nilo heard a sound and looked to see a pod of dolphins coming towards them. When the dolphins approach they started to talk to Nilo and Nala.

"It is good to see you Nala, now you two legs have much mer blood in you. It is quite unusual for a human to have so much"

"Why is it so unusual" "You can understand them?" "Well yes can't you" "Yes it is a gift that the mer have but humans have never been able to acquire it" "She said that I have an unusual amount of mer blood in me, how do I even have mer blood in the first place"

"Some mer fall in love or something happens and they take on legs and walk on land. Now it is very rare and has not been heard of being done in hundreds of year but those who did had children and those children had more. So the mer blood descends through the generations, your parents must have more than others"

"But my mom I scared of the ocean and my dad doesn't even like to go near it" "Strange now let me show you some of my home"

They spent the rest of the night exploring Ingo and it wasn't until Nala even mention something that Nilo though about air.

"You must be heading back, the sun will be rising soon" "Your right, I'm so dead if my parents catch me" "Here we will take a current to get back faster"

After riding a current for a minute they arrived back at the cove. "I'll meet you here same time tomorrow night" "see you then"

Nilo pulled himself out of the water and realized for the first time just how could it was. Nilo ran up the rocks and into the cabin quickly changing and jumping into bed to catch a bit of sleep.

The next week went on like that. Going to Ingo coming back and catching whatever sleep he could. Then one night Nala said they would do something different.

"So where are we going tonight" "I'm going to take you to an old friend of mine" They swam to a huge cave where an old man was laying down on a seaweed mat.

"Saldowr!" "Ah Nala how are you" "Good Saldowr, I've brought a friend" Nilo swam forward and thought that he saw Saldowr's eyes widen and look a bit surprised. "His name is-" "Nilo correct" "Yes but how did you know" "I know everything dear boy" "Its true Nilo if anyone needs advice they come to him"

"It is strange to see a human down here after all these years" "You mean that there where humans down here before" "Yes a little over twenty years ago" "But I thought that humans had never been down here" "Actually These two humans where very famous down here"

"How where they famous Saldowr?" "They helped fix the tide knot, defeat the kraken and one of them even helped end the great war of Ingo" "Wow but if they where so famous why have I never heard of them" "They where not talked about to protect them" "Who where they Saldowr?"

"You should ask your parents that, your father was actually the one that brought the girl down to Ingo and your Aunt Elvira brought the boy" "They never told me" "They did it protect you and you Nilo are more involved in Ingo then you even know"

"Now you should head home if you don't want to be caught by your parents" "Alright lets head back" As they approached the cove they where both thinking about what Saldowr had said.

"Hey Nala do you think that I could come with you and ask your parents about the humans that came to Ingo" "Sure" "It's a weekend tomorrow so can meet you here around noon" "alright I'll be waiting"

Nilo fell asleep right away he was so tiered and he forgot to hide his salty clothes.

"Nilo its time too get-" Rainbow stepped onto a big pile of clothes. She normally wouldn't have paid any attention to it except.

Its wet, all of these clothes are soaking wet with seawater. Oh no if he's discovered Ingo it's only a matter of time before he find out about Sapphire. Maybe he was sleepwalking again and didn't want to bother me with it. Oh please let that be right.
