(Nilo)

Nilo slowly opened his eyes and found himself on Sam's couch. It took a moment before all of last night's memories came back to him.

"Hey Nilo you up yet" Sam came down the stairs, hair messy from sleeping.

"Yeah I'm up" Sam came down and sat in front of Nilo. "Look man maybe your parent s where keeping secrets from you for a reason. You should give them a chance "

Nilo considered what Sam said and when Sam went back upstairs Nilo called home. "Nilo where are you please come home" Rainbow was in hysterics and the other end of the line. "I'm at Sam's and I will come home but only if you stop talking bad about my mom"

"Yes Nilo we promise, we were just mad and worried about you please forgive us" Nilo could hear Rainbow crying and took pity in her.

"I forgive you, I'll be home later today" "Thank you see you tonight Nilo" The line went dead just as Sam came back down the stairs.

"Who was on the phone?" "My folks they said that they were sorry so I forgave them and said I was coming home later today"

"Great so you gonna hang out here all day" "No I'm going to head down to the beach and relax" Nilo grabbed his stuff and walked over to the door. "Well later man good luck with your parents"

As Nilo walked back to the house he thought about how much he had missed out in with Ingo.

Well I've had a pretty good life here on land. A nice house and friends, Nala has never gotten to experience something as simple as a movie. But mom and dad are down there in Ingo, also Nala has probably seen things that most explorers could only dream of.

Nilo was home soon enough and before he could even open the door Rainbow burst out and hugged him.

"Oh Nilo we were so worried and we are very sorry for what we said about Sapphire" Rainbow had tears streaming down her face as she hugged Nilo. Connor just stood a few feet away smiling.

"Well I actually have to go, I said that I would meet Nala down in the cove today" Nilo ran back out the door and down to the cove.

Things got much better from there. Nilo would continue to go down to the cove but still spent time with Connor and Rainbow. He also introduced Nala to them and Rainbow found Nala absolutely adorable, Nala didn't really like being called that.

Then one day while they were sitting in the cove Nala and Nilo discovered something amazing.

"Hey Nilo what is it like up on land?" "Well what do you want to know" "Well I want to know everything, I was always curious about humans and all the things on land. But I can't really see much from the water"

"Well I don't really know what to say, I grew up here so everything that you would think is amazing is average to me" Nala started to play with the towel in her lap and touched Nilo's leg with her long tail.

"I just wish that I could have legs and see land just for a day" As soon as the words where out of her mouth a light surrounded her tail. When the light finally cleared Nala's tail was gone, in its place was two pale legs.

"Nala you have-" "Legs! I have legs just like I wanted, but how did I do it" Nala reached down and ran her hand up her leg. Nilo was now very thankful that Nala had stolen his towel. "I don't know how you did it; maybe we can switch back and forth or something like that"

"Well let's worry about that later, now I want you to show me all the things that you do here on land" Nala jumped up then fell right back down on her but. "OW that hurt"

Nilo was laughing at her expression "Well it is your first time on legs so you probably have to get used to them" Nilo helped Nala stand up and put her arm around his shoulder guiding her up the rocks back to the cabin. Nilo kicked open the door with his foot startling Rainbow as she came down the stairs.

"Nilo what the hell is going on" Rainbow then caught sight of Nala and her legs peeking out from underneath the towel Nilo had wrapped around her waist. "Nala how in the world do you have legs?" Rainbows eyes were the size of oranges as she continued to look.

"Well I just wished for legs while I was touching Nilo's leg and there they were" Rainbow finally got ahold of herself and came down the rest of the stairs. "Well now honey let's get you out of the seaweed top and towel and into some real clothes , then Nilo can take you out sightseeing"

Rainbow pulled Nala up the stairs and Nilo sat down on the couch. When they finally came down Nilo was shocked, Rainbow had put Nala in a sundress that came to her knees and flowed around her like water.

"Wow you look great Nala" Nala blushed at the compliment. "Thank you now let's go out, there's a lot to show me before I go back" Nala grabbed Nilo's hand and pulled him out the door.

"So where do you want to go first Nala?" Nala though for a second before responding.

"I want to go to the mall, I hear human girls talking about it all the time" Nilo laughed at the expression of excitement in her eyes. "Alright we can go to the mall here come sit on my bike"

Nilo pulled his bike out and had Nala sit on the plate on the back of the bike. When they finally got to the mall Nala asked questions about everything, Nilo eventually got her to calm down after people started giving the weird looks.

*Grumble*

"Nilo I'm hungry what to you guys eat up here I don't see anything decent for miles" "Well how about we go to the food court and we can get some burgers" Nilo led Nala over to the food court and left her at a table to go get some food. While Nilo was standing in line he got a bit of a surprise.

"Hey Nilo what are you doing here man" Nilo turned around to see his friend Sam with a big grin on his face. "What are you so happy about Sam you usually only get that look on your face when you found some new girl to prey on"

"Oh Nilo I am hurt but you are right and this time my prey is very lovely indeed" Nilo rolled his eyes used to this, Sam was the type of guy who thinks that it was love at first sight and make the girl fall head over heels in love with him then get bored and dump her. His longest girlfriend had lasted only two weeks before he got tired of her.

"Well where my friend is the girl that will have the pleasure of being with you for a week" Sam's grin got even bigger as he slung his arm over Nilo's shoulders almost knocking over the tray that Nilo was holding. "The lovely Lady is right over there" Nilo followed Sam's finger to where he was pointing and went red.

"No, no way Sam you can't have her" "Why do you care you already got a girlfriend unless, no you wouldn't be having a secret date with that girl over there would you?"

"No it's not like that"

"Really then why don't you want me going near her hey Nilo" Nilo was red as a tomato. "I don't want you near her Sam because she's my sister and you would just break her heart" Well that got that smirk off Sam's face.

"You're kidding right you don't even have a sister" "No she really is you can even ask her yourself if you want" Sam pondered it for a second "Alright then can I meet her sure"

They both walked over to where Nala was sitting, she looked up at them when she heard them coming.

"Oh good Nilo you got my food. And who is this, a friend of yours?" Nala looked at Sam with curious eyes. Yeah, Nala this is Sam my best friend" Nala smiled up at Sam. "It's nice to meet you I'm Nala, Nilo's twin sister"

Sam's eyes had already been as big as saucers from gawking at Nala, but the last bit of news seemed to make him almost explode.

"TWIN! Nilo man you never told me that you had a hot twin how could you have kept this from me" Sam was acting like a little kid that wasn't being allowed to eat candy.

"Sam don't make such a big deal out of it, I didn't even know I had a twin until recently anyway since Nala lived far away" Sam seemed to calm down to his normal hyperactive mood.

"Nilo is that you" Nilo turned around to see Marissa walking up to them. "Marissa what are you doing here" Marissa walked right up to the table before saying anything. "Well I was out shopping when I saw you and Sam I just thought that-"

Marissa's had finally caught sight of Nala and needless to say was very mad. "Nilo who is this" "Now Marissa listen to me I know what you're thinking but I'm not cheating on you" Marissa crossed her arms and her eyes looked like they could kill with a single look.

"Well if you're not on a date then who is she" "Hey Rissa calm down she's Nilo's sister" Well that surprised Marissa just as much as it had surprised Sam maybe even more. "I'm sorry Sam did you just say sister"

Before Sam could say anything Nala spoke up "Yes I'm Nilo's twin sister Nala it's very nice to meet you" Marissa was speechless. "Uh Marissa are you alright" Marissa snapped out of her trace when she realized Nilo was talking to her. "Yeah I'm fine, so what's the story I mean you never told us about a sister"

Alright I have to think of a really good story that Marissa would believe.

"Well my parents couldn't keep both of us so they sent Nala off to live with some other relatives out west. We only found out about each other a little while ago" Nilo finished up his story hopping that they would believe it and lucky for them they did.

"Wow that sucks well I have to go so I'll see you guys later" Sam walked off leaving Nilo and Nala with Marissa. Suddenly Nala started to feel a burning sensation in her legs. "Nilo my legs they hurt" Nala whispered quietly into Nilo's ear.

"Well I'd better get Nala back to the house I'll see you at school Marissa" With a wave Nilo grabbed Nala and took off when they got back to the cottage Nala took off down to the cove and throwing her dress off as she went plunged into the water.

Nilo watched as Nala's two legs fused together in one long seal tail propelling her through the water back to the surface. "Well it looks like you can only keep legs for a certain amount of time before they start to hurt" "Yeah well I'd better head home mom and dad will be looking for me but I'll come back tomorrow then maybe a can get legs again and you can show me around" "Sure"

With a smile and wave Nala dove back into the water disappearing from sight. The next few weeks Nilo showed Nala around and even though Nilo had never taken the form of a tail Nala still showed him around Ingo. Nilo started missing school and never saw Marissa and Sam. His grades dropped to the point where he was failing all of his class, but even when he tried to study he couldn't with the call of Ingo in his head at all hours of the day.

Rainbow would often go to his room to wake him and find him missing then he would show up late the next night. Connor and Rainbow didn't want to lose Nilo to Ingo but they promised that they wouldn't stop him when it came to Sapphire but something had to be done.

I am so sorry that I haven't updated in so long but I have been really busy. One thing that I would like to apologize for is how most of the characters are nothing like they are in the books and that is mostly because I haven't read the books in forever. So for that reason I am looking for a Beta to help me with my horrible grammar and to help rewrite some of the past chapters to make them more believable.

I have a great Idea for what's coming up and a great ending for this story that I hope you guys will like so please don't give up on this story never being finished cause that is one thing that I am determined to do.
