Anthem of the Angels
A Winchester Novel
Sequel to Winchester
prologue: dance with the devil
Walking through the forests, the warm Italian air blowing her long hair, fifteen year old Gabrielle Winchester hummed a small tune under her breath. Her footsteps were silent as she walked, her long crimson dress flaring as she spun.
"Trembling, crawling across my skin. Feeling your cold, dead eyes." Her voice was angelic as she danced around the forest. And the predetor watching her thought she was beautiful as well. And mouth-watering.
Crimson eyes watched as the girl danced. A vicious grin crossed his lips as he crouched down into a position of attack. Gabrielle hummed low and spun once again, "I can see right through all your empty lies. I won't stay strong, in this world so wrong..."
She bent her head back, revealing her neck and he pounced. His claws reached out to tear into her flesh but all he caught was the ends of her crimson dress and the dirt beneath her feet. His eyes stared up at the night sky before a chuckle sent a chill of fear down his spine. He opened his eyes and looked into cold, calculating and sadistic hazel eyes. The girl's face seemed a bit more vicious.
"Bad move," she spoke and snapped her fingers. His insides felt like there were on fire and a second later, the brunette girl watched as he exploded. She tsked and hummed once again. "Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight."
"Lucifer," she turned her head, meeting the crimson gaze of Victoria. A smile crossed her lips and in a flash, her hand held the redhead's face and her lips brushed tenderly against hers.
"Dance with me, Victoria?"
The vampire gave a small giggle, "Of course my love."
And they danced for what seemed like hours, spinning, twirling, lost to the world. A flutter of wings alerted them both and the young brunette turned to see Raphael, now in a male's vessel, bowing before her.
"My liege," he began. "We have found it."
A sinister grin crossed her lips. "Gather the Guard. It's time we opened up Purgatory once more," Gabrielle reached over and took a handful of Victoria's curly hair, pulled painfully. "Don't you agree, my pet?"
"Yes my liege."
Lucifer smirked. "I do hope Michael is ready. It's time to begin our destined battle."
