It was close to midnight in the City that never sleeps, and as usual the American dragon was making his rounds around the city, making sure no one could him in his draconic form. After flying around for a while he decided to perch himself on the side of a skyscraper. He made sure to search the alleyways for any small, helpless fairy, or leprechaun being mugged by some troll, after all it was his duty as the American dragon to protect those defenseless creatures. After a while he decided to take off to one of the most magically active places in New York City, Central Park. So far so good, but after a while he spotted something. A young brown haired girl was running through the park, seemingly in a panic. Behind her were the huntsclan in hot pursuit!

He had to act quickly, and save the girl, so down he plunged as he landed beside her causing her to scream. The members of the hunts clan who were pursuing her formed a circle around him, their magic spears aimed at the red dragon and the girl.

"How 'bout y'all take on someone your own size!" he yelled at them. One of the hunts clan members gave the order to attack. The dragon then began to dodge their laser blasts while managing to swoop up the helpless girl. He finished of the hunts clan with a fire ball, which made them retreat.

He flew off to a clearing with the girl, who was in a sort of shock. She's kinda cute he thought. She was wearing a little black dress, and her brown hair was tied back into a ponytail.

"Wh-who are you" she asked shyly.

"I'm the American dragon, and I just saved your life" he stated proudly.

"Wow… may I ask what your name is" the girl asked. Her voice was very light and petite.

He sighed "Sorry, girl, but I can't tell you that."

"Oh.. I'm sorry" she said. "um… you are the American dragon.. Right?"

"Uh… Yeah." he said with a little confusion in his voice.

Her round sparkly eyes changed to that of an evil predator about to catch its prey "Perfect" she yelled. In an instant she ripped off her little dress to reveal the standard uniform of the hunts clan. As the dragon fell back in shock, she fired off a net from the staff she kept concealed, instantly trapping the American dragon.

"What-!" he exclaimed in shock. The girl gave a whistle and out of the brush came the huntsman and hunts girl.

"Hey, Thorn! Bet you're jealous I got the dragon before you!" the brown haired girl stated proudly.

"Just remember I'm the one who gets to slay him, Eagle!" the hunts girl said (apparently her codename was thorn)"

"Whatever, It's not like it's my first time to slay a dragon!" Eagle stated sarcastically.

"Quiet, you two!" yelled the huntsman "Knock him out, and put him with the other one."

The dragon looked up in shock as Eagle's staff hit the back of his head, knocking him unconscious.
