Chapter One
Isabella Marie Swan

Hi, my name is Isabella Marie Swan, but I prefer Bella. And I'm a half vampire hybrid. I know, I know, you're probably thinking. "That's not possible!" Well, hate to break it to you, but it is. My mom was human when she conceived me but I killed her. I bit her to get out of her womb. And she died instantly. Her sister was the only one who knew about me. After my "birth" I guess you could call it, she found out that I could survive on both blood and human food, I mostly ate regular human food, but i had to drink blood once a month, so she would go to the butcher to get me raw meat. She raised me until she was killed by a nomadic vampire when I was 3. Physically, I looked like a 3 year old, but mentally, I had a brain of a 7 year old. Before my aunt died, she gave me a letter written by my mother, saying that she loved me and that she expected her death. She also said that my father was a vampire that died to protect us. I couldn't help but feel guilty.
A few days later, I was found by the police and they brought me to an orphanage and I've been living here ever since.
Few weeks after my arrival, I found out that I had a power, and a rather strong one if I do say so myself. I had two kinds of shields, one physical, and one mental. I also have telekinesis, all I have to do is wrap my physical shield around an object and lift it upwards. I didn't experiment on it often. I knew I had some vampire abilities, like running fast and great senses, but I didn't know if I could run as fast as one, or had as good senses as a normal vampire because I've never met one.
"Come'on Bella! Hurry up! They're gonna be here any minute!" shouted my best friend, Annabeth, or Annie as she prefers. She's 6, just like me. She may be my best friend, but we're anything but alike, Annie is more, I guess you could say, energetic and she LOVES to play princess, her favorite color is pink and she loves puffy skirts. I, on the other hand, HATE pink. I like purple. And I'm quite shy. I love to read and play video games. And, I'm more of a dress-what-i-feel-comfortable-in kinda gal.
"Okay okay! You don't need to yell! You're gonna bust my eardrum." I shouted back at her. There was a family coming by the orphanage today, and Annie was excited to meet them. "It's not like I'm gonna get adopted anyways." I muttered.
I walked towards the door to find Drake and Alex tackling each other. They were both 8 years old. "Come'on guys! Stop your so called "wrestling"! They're gonna be here soon." They watch a little too much of WWE for my liking.
They both got up and brushed themselves off. Alex walked towards me and slung his arm over my shoulder and said, "Sorry Bells."
"Yeah yeah." I muttered. Alex was my other best friend. We played video games and baseball together. We do all the "guy stuff" as Annie referred it too.
"Come'on, let's get down before Claire comes and get us." Alex said while tugging me towards the stairs.
Claire runs this orphanage and she was like the big sister I never had. I could always talk to her when I was sad and she would always know how to cheer me up. She also knows about my little secret. I knew I could trust her with anything. When I told her, she wasn't surprised, she said that she always suspected something about me, but she was not as close. Anyways, back to the topic, we would always watch cooking channels together on Saturdays and experiment on Sundays. Not trying to brag or anything, but Annie, Alex and Drake love my Chocolate Chip cookies.
"Hey Bells, hey Alex." Claire greeted us with a smile, "You guys ready?" she asked.
"You bet!" Alex answered cheerfully.
"I guess." I answered but it sounded more like a question. I was a little nervous. What if they don't like me?
Claire sensing I was getting nervous kneeled down in front of me and asked, "You okay, Bella?"
I smiled. "Yeah, just nervous." I answered.
"Don't be!" Claire replied cheerfully. "They're gonna love you." She empathized the word "love".
"Sure." I muttered while she led me through the living room to join Annie, Alex and Drake.
When we were in the living room, I nearly gasped. There, stood 7 people. No, not people. They were like angels. Drop dead gorgeous angels. They all had golden eyes and were incredibly pale. Wow, and I thought I was pale.
The first one was a blond male, he had his arm wrapped around a light brown haired female who had a smile on her face. The next was a big bulky guy with a huge smile on his face. I had to admit, he scared me a little, and Isabella Swan does not get scared often. Next to him was a blond female, and my god, was she beautiful, she has to be a model, I said to myself. Next to her was also a blond but was a male, he had a tight smile on his face while he tried to calm a pixie like girl down. She had short hair and was really jumpy. She just screamed girly girl. And lastly, there was a guy with copper hair and had the most beautiful crooked smile. Wow, beautiful? Dude, where did that come from? I thought to myself.
"Okay, so now that everyone's here, I'm gonna leave you guys to it." Claire said with a smile while walking out of the living room. I smiled and sat next to Alex who saved me a seat next to him.
"Okay, well, let me introduce you to my family, I'm Carlisle Cullen, and this," bringing the light brown haired woman closer to him, "is my beautiful wife,-" "Esme." she cut him off with a smile. The big guy jumped up and yelled, "I'm Emmett and I'm the good looking one in the family." All of us laughed at him while the pretty blond lady smacked him in the back of his head and said "Emmett, sit down." He immediately sat down and said "Sorry Rosie." with a sheepish smile. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "I'm Rosalie." smiling at us. "Jasper." the blond one said. "Hi, I'm Alice!" the pixie one said. Her voice sounded like wind chimes. We all turned to the last Cullen and he said, "Hello, I'm Edward."
"Cool!" Annie said, "Well, I'll start first! I'm Annabeth but I prefer Annie, I'm 6 and I love the color pink, I love watching Hannah Montana, I love playing princess and I loooooooove shopping!" she yelled the last part making all of us laugh. "OH OH! And Justin Bieber is gonna be my future husband!" she continued. "He just doesn't it yet!" We laughed at her.
"OOH OOH OOH! Can we keep her?" Alice yelled while jumping up and down in her seat clapping her hands together. Esme laughed while trying to calm her down, "Alice, dear, why not give the others a chance." she said. Alice eventually calmed down with Jasper's help.
"Okaaaay?" Drake said dragging the word "okay". "Now, that you've heard what this-" Drake said while patting Annie's head "little princess had to say," using air quotes on "princess" "it's time for the show to really start." Drake said while rubbing his hands together. "I'm Drake, I'm 8 and I like to wrestle. I love video games, football and watching car shows on tv. And, I hate girls cause I think they're stupid." he ended making Emmett and Jasper laugh. Their laughter was booming through the house.
"HEY!" Me and Annie shouted at the same time, offended. "You're the stupid one, stupid!" Annie yelled.
"Suuuure." Drake said dragging out the word. "Keep thinking that princess." he said while ruffling her hair, Annie swatted his hand away and slumped back into the couch with a "Hmmpph."
Alex and I just looked at them, amused.
"Man, I like him." Emmett said, nudging Jasper's shoulder. "He has sense of humor." he continued. Jasper smiled and agreed.
"Well then," Carlisle said amused, "let's continue shall we?" All of us nodded. "What's your name?" he asked while gesturing to Alex with a smile.
"I'm Alex and I'm 8" said Alex, "I'm much like Drake but I think girls aren't stupid." he paused while he looked at me and said, "I think they're fun!" he continued with big smile. I couldn't help but smile back.
"Ladies man." I heard Jasper said to Emmett. "Nice." Emmett replied. And then they turned to Carlisle with pleading looks "Can we keep them both?" they yelled. All of us laughed. Carlisle looked at them while trying to hold in his own laughter and said "Jasper, Emmett, they're not pets."
"You know-" Annie said, cutting out Jasper and Emmett and getting all 7 Cullen's attention, "if you're looking for the mixture of all 3 of us, it's Bella you want!" she said cheerfully. All of them turned to face me. I couldn't help but blush and look down.
"Why don't you tell us about yourself, sweetie?" Rosalie said softly while smiling kindly at me.
"Ummm, well," I stuttered. Suddenly getting nervous again, Great first impression, Bella. I thought to myself. "I'm Isabella but I prefer Bella, I'm 6 and I love to read. I like the color purple, and I let Annie torture me with her princess parties-" "HEY!" Annie yelled, cutting me off. "You know you like it." she muttered. I rolled my eyes at her and said, "No, I don't." Annie just stuck her tongue out at me, making the Cullens chuckle. "Anyways, I also like to play video games with Alex and watch car shows with Drake," I paused, while clapping my hands together and batting my eyes lashes "My dream car is an Audi." I said with a swoon face. All of the Cullens laughed while Rosalie looked impressed. "I also watch cooking channels with Claire on the weekends and baseball is my favorite sport. Oh, and I love to sing!" I said the last part a little too enthusiastically "And i play the piano a little." I added with a smile.
All of the 5 Cullen kids looked at each other for a moment and suddenly jumped out of their seats at the same time and yelled, "SHE'S THE ONE!" over and over again while pointing at me. Emmett felt the need to stand behind Carlisle and shake his shoulders while yelling "Dude, she's awesome!" in his ear. Esme just looked at them amused.
"Okay okay, calm down kids." Carlisle said while trying to calm everyone down. They all calmed down slightly. Carlisle turned to me with a gentle smile and asked, "Bella, do you want to be apart of our family?"
