A/N: In case you haven't heard, I'm going to start writing all of my fanfics in first person. It seems to come easier to me in first, so I will write in first until my muse stops working. This chapter is dedicated to my cousin Lissie who loves my stories. Love you, Cousin! As always, disclaimed. Enjoy! ~TSG17
Chapter 8: Don't Get Mad, Get Angry
Rose P.O.V.
I was lying on my bed, reading the latest mystery novel from one of my favorite Muggle authors. On my iPod deck, some Girlicious was playing. Life was just peachy, and I don't mean that sarcastically. It was a beautiful day, almost 100 degrees, and I loved it. When I was finished with my book, I was going to run around the block and attempt exercise. The killer was exactly who I'd thought it was: The bad guy posing as a teacher. I smiled to myself. I was getting hella good at this crime-solving thing.
Just as I was about to pick up my next book, Al's owl Snowy tapped on my window. I furrowed my brows in confusion. Normally during the summer, I never got letters from Al. We saw each other enough as it was. Shrugging, I opened my window to the aptly-named snow white owl. It dropped the note on my desk and pecked my arm in indication of a treat. I laughed and fed it one of the many owl treats I kept in a jar. It sat there and looked at me expectantly, as if it wanted me to open the letter and reply.
Rose,
Got a surprise for you! Can't wait to see you tomorrow!
Al
I don't know why, but as I read that letter, a feeling of dread came over me. I had a gut feeling that tomorrow was going to be one of the worst days of my life.
I didn't realize it at the time, but I was right.
The next day, we all piled in to Mum and Dad's car and headed to Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny's house. It wasn't any special holiday, but we were all insanely close, so it wasn't any surprise that we spent a few weeks at all of our relatives' houses during the summer.
When we arrived (I don't even have a clue why we took the car), Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harry were waiting for us on the front porch. "Ginny!" My mum called and ran over to my redheaded aunt. They hugged and both laughed when my dad and Uncle Harry did one of their weird man-hug things. I rolled my eyes at Hugo, who just shrugged and mumbled, "You're a girl. You wouldn't understand."
Me and Hugo walked into their house (better read as 'mansion') and ran up the stairs to greet our insane cousins. "Lily!" I screamed, hugging her tightly. We laughed and ran up the stairs together, off to spy on our brothers.
Al and Hugo did an oddly perfect imitation of Uncle Harry and Dad's man-hug thing and us girls giggled to ourselves. "Come out from behind the curtains!" Al called to us.
"How did you know we were behind there!" Lily asked, hands on hips.
Al grinned wickedly. "I'm not telling, Little Sister."
Lily stomped her feet in anger. "Whatever, Big Brother." She stormed off, and I could tell she was about to cry. Sometimes my little cousin could be a bit of a crybaby, but I was never going to be the one to tell her that.
"What did you do that for?" I scolded Al who was laughing with Hugo.
"Do what?" He questioned innocently.
I just rolled my eyes. "Whatever. You owled me that you have a surprise for me. What is it?"
"Something I think you'll enjoy very much. Come with me, my dear cousin."
I followed him up to his room. The funny feeling was returning, but I didn't dare let on that I was scared.
"Close your eyes, Rosie," Al's voice said mysteriously.
"Why?" I challenged.
"Do it or I won't show you what your surprise is."
I sighed; fighting him would just result in a disaster we both didn't want or need. "Fine."
I heard his bedroom door creak open and I stepped inside, my eyes still closed. I heard the door click shut and Al's muffled voice yelled through the door, "You can open them now!" I did, and shock hit me like a punch in the gut as I realized who was standing across from me.
"Malfoy?" I asked, not sure whether to be happy or upset.
Scorpius P.O.V.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! THE LOOK ON ROSIE'S FACE WAS PRICELESS! PRICELESS! Her mouth hung open like a fish and the look of surprise and shock was easily readable on the pretty face of hers.
"You look a bit funny, Love," I said. "Might wanna close your mouth."
Her eyes narrowed in anger, and I found myself thinking that she looked sexy when she was angry. "Why the hell are you here, Malfoy?"
I shrugged nonchalantly. "Eh, Al invited me over for the summer holiday and I just couldn't say no."
She rolled her eyes. "Hell yes you could've! I thought I made it bloody clear that I didn't want to speak to you or see you ever again!"
"Now now, don't lie to yourself, Love," I crooned in a saccharine voice.
"I'm not," she spat back, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Sure you're not," I challenged and walked closer to her.
"I'm not," she repeated again, this time with a hint of defeat in her voice.
"Just shut up and let me kiss you, Weasley," I whispered, kissing her.

I didn't even try to fight him as he kissed me. The second his lips met mine, my body took over. I wasn't thinking with my head anymore, I was thinking with my heart. I don't know why, but over the past few months, Scorpius Malfoy had made more of an impression on me than any other guy I'd dated in the past years. It scared me as the realization came over me.
I was in love with Scorpius Malfoy.
