Naru's POV
As soon as the lights came back on, I noticed one thing. Mai's missing. Everyone noticed to and we all left to go look for Mai.
We searched everywhere. We even searched the basement, but she wasn't there. When we got back to base, I sat down on my seat. I then slammed my hands on the desk.
It startled everyone that I did that. Mina said, "Does this mean that Mai is somewhere outside of the house?" I nodded and then I saw that it was late. Is aid, "Everyone get to sleep, we will have to solve this tomorrow." Everyone nodded and left except for Lin, Martin, and Luella.
I then ran my hand through my head frustrated. My mother said, "Noll, calm down we will find her." I said, "Calm down? Calm down? How can I calm down when after today, we only have a day before this Cody kills Mai? How can I calm down?"
My mother and father were surprised at my sudden outburst. I pinched the bridge of my nose and let out s breath. I then said, "Look, this case is giving me a headache. I mean we only got here 2 days ago and so far, Mai has never smiled at all. She has been using too much power."
My father nodded and said, "Noll, it's alright. We can save Mai. We just need to figure out where she is." I nodded and said, "Alright. You guys should get some rest. I'll see you guys tomorrow." My parents nodded and left.
Lin stayed and went to the monitors. Nothing new happened. I then saw that it was already midnight and soon, I started to fall asleep. The last thing I heard was Lin saying, "Naru?"
Mina's POV
As soon as Naru dismissed us, I went to the girl's room for a couple of hours before I went to the garden. I sat there and took a deep breath in and then I released it. I then said, "Mai where are you?"
No reply. I sighed and then I closed my eyes and slowly, I channeled my spiritual powers. I felt Mai's power near, but how? We all checked everywhere in and out of the house.
I then opened my eyes and said, "No Way." I then followed the trail made by my powers to her. It led me to the basement. I raised an eyebrow and continued inside. The trail ended up to another hidden door.
I opened the door, but before I could look around, something hit me on the back. The voice said, "Welcome and now you are to die with your sister."
I groaned and got up. I smirked and said, "Cody, are you sure that I am Mina?" Cody slowly nodded, but I smirked.
He didn't know how wrong he was. Sure this was Mina's body, but this is not Mina. In fact this is Mai. Let me tell you how this happened.
~Flashback~
As soon as Mina was hit in the back, Mai said in her head, "Mina hurry trade bodies. I will get you out of here. Tell everyone what happened and to not come and get me. Tell them to finish this case after we switch bodies again."
Mina nodded and we then traded bodies. Mai was in Mina's and Mina was in Mai's. Mina/Mai stood up with a groan. Mai said, "Cody, are you sure that I am Mina?"
Cody slowly nodded but I smirked. He was wrong. Way wrong.
~End of Flashback~
Mai's POV
I was in Mina's body and then I said, "Cody, you do know that you are wrong right?" Cody then said, "How can you be Mai? You can't be in two places at once!"
I smirked and said, "Are you sure about that?" Cody nodded and that made me smirk some more. I then said, "Technically human law states that the same person can be in two places at once. Unless you are a god or a twin." (A/N: I don't know if that is true, but hey this is my fan fiction. ^^)
Cody then said, "Mai, why are you in your sister's body?" I smiled and said, "I have permission, why?" I then raised my hand to use my PK. My power came with me, but not the whole thing.
Only a bit came with me. I used the PK to knock Cody out for a while and then I headed to base quickly. Once there, I saw Naru asleep and Lin on the monitors. I said, "Lin."
He turned to look at me, but he didn't get another word out of me because Mina and I are switching bodies again.
I closed my eyes and when I opened them again, I saw that I was in the basement secret room. I saw Cody come into the room.
He said, "Are you Mina?" I smirked and said, "Nope." A vein popped on his head and then he sighed. He then said, "How were you in 2 places at once? You and your sister can't act as one of you guys so how is it possible?"
I said, "Figure it out." I then closed my eyes because I was tired. The last thing I heard was the sound of a knife being sharpened.
Mina's POV
I groaned and opened my eyes. I was on the couch of base and Naru sat down next to me. He said, "Mina, what happened?"
I looked at him and said, "Mai, she is in the basement. There is another room in the basement. We have to hurry."
Naru nodded and said, "Mina, calm down. We will get to her soon. Not now. Wait until the others wake up."
I nodded, but I had a bad feeling. As I waited with Naru and Lin in base, I heard Mai telepathically saying, "Mina, don't come yet. Cody won't kill me, but he is getting ready to kill me. I'll tell you when to come, but not now. I'll tell you when to come got it?"
I sighed and said, "Alright Mai, but be careful." I felt her nod and then she cut off our connection.
I whispered, "Be careful Mai, be careful." I then noticed someone staring at me and saw that it was Lin. I sighed and said, "Lin-san what' wrong?" He shook his head and went back to typing.
I sweat dropped and then now I noticed something. It was a pulse. I stood up and I followed to the place where the pulse was strongest.
What I didn't notice was the fact that someone was following me. Once I reached the place where the pulse was strongest, I noticed that I was in the backyard.
I looked around and found the place where the pulsing was the strongest. It was on my right and I walked towards it. I bent down and felt the ground. Sure enough the ground had a pulse.
I closed my eyes and with my spiritual powers, I felt out to see what the cause of this pulsing was. I couldn't tell what it was. I sighed and opened my eyes again.
If Mai was here she would have figured it out immediately. I sighed and then I looked around for any gardening tool and sure enough I found one. I used that and started digging.
I kept digging until I reached the object. I took out the object and I was surprised. It was a time capsule. I took it out and I dropped the time capsule immediately.

Mai's POV
I opened my eyes and found out that no one was in the room except for me. I sighed and then I looked to my left. Nothing was there. I then started to hum a song.
After starting to hum, I started to sing the lyrics.

As I finished singing, I smiled because that song was for Naru. I chuckled slightly and then I got serious before I said, "Cody leave me alone. I don't want you here."
I heard a chuckle and the words, "My Mai, how quaint. I never guessed that you would have figured out that I was here." I rolled my eyes and said, "Why don't you just kill me now! You are just stalling. Before I forget, on the full moon, I will have enough power to kill you so beware."
Cody chuckled again and a vein popped on my face. I then said, "Quit chuckling. You know you are just a dumb jerk who doesn't know what you are doing right?" This caused Cody to say, "Shut that mouth of yours." With every word, venom was laced with it.
I yawned and said, "Whatever, you big idiotic jerk." Cody walked to me and said, "Mai, you should stop talking because I can immediately call someone to dispose of your friends and sister with ease right?"
I smirked and said, "Stop bluffing. I have enough power to take you on with ease. By the way didn't you say you wanted to know how I was in 2 places at once? Well that is something only these types of people have, but you will never know which type of people."
Cody raised his hands and then he dropped them. He turned to leave, but I said, "Awww, poor master running home to his mommy." He snapped because the next thing I knew, a knife was headed to my face. I immediately used my PK and stopped the knife only mere centimeters from my face.
I then smirked again and I used my PK to throw it back at him. This time it hit Cody in the arm. Since Cody's shirt was so baggy, I didn't know if I hit skin or air. When I found no blood, I figure I had hit him in air.
I saw another knife and I did the same for his other arm. As he was trapped, I used some PK and broke my chains enough so I could just break them and be free.
I broke free and walked to Cody, I said, "Next time you try and catch me, you won't be able to touch me because I won't be able to be caught in this game of yours Cody. Goodbye."
I then ran to the backyard. The pulse I had felt while singing was strong so I had to see what it was. When I got there, it was too late; Mina already saw what was in it. I sat down next to her and looked at it.
The contents were photos. One of them was Irene with Yuuta next to my parents. On the back were the words, "Our best friends. May you be happy always."
It wasn't from Irene or Yuuta. In fact it was signed by our parents. The other photos were off Yuuta and Irene. Some of the pictures had our parents in it.
Mina and I smiled at some of the photos. They were funny. I then said, "Mina, I think it's time for us to finish this case. Are you up too it?"
Mina looked at me and said, "On the full moon?" I nodded and said, "Yup, on the full moon." Mina nodded and said, "For friends and for justice."
I then said, "For Peace and for family." "On the full moon we will bring the darkness into the light to save our friends and for save our family." Mina and I said in unison.
I then hugged Mina and said, "Whatever happens." Mina finished by saying, "I'll always be there for you." We smiled and then we got up. I grabbed the pictures. Mina headed to base while I stayed back to look in the time capsule. There was a note.
The note said, "Mai and Mina, if you are reading this then let me tell you something. I am your mothers and fathers friend. We have met before in our lives but you were too young to remember. In this time capsule are 2 necklaces. One of them is for you while the other your sister. Yours is the one with the star while Mina's is the one with the heart. There are also two rings. The one with a heart is Mai's and the one with a star is Mina's. I know you guys each have one star and one heart, but there is a reason. If you have too much of one power, but not the other, you might as well die. You will soon figure out why you need it. They are protection charms. Beware Mai. Beware Mina, you have to solve this mystery before a full moon or on the full moon. Please be careful. Yours truly, Irene and Yuuta."
I smiled and took out the necklaces. The heart one was pink with a blue gem in the middle while the star was red with a purple gem in the middle. They both were the ones that were emitting the power.
The rings were beautiful. The heart one was pink with a silver band around it while the one with a star was yellow with a gold band around it.
I smiled again and I headed inside to reach Mina. Once I did, I gave her, her necklace and I gave her the note. She nodded. We both then headed back to base with the necklace and ring on.
