A/N: Okay this is a new story because I cannot get over the fact that there are so many could be father son moments between Batman and Robin in Young Justice. These are not to be confused with Daddy Bats which I will be updating. I am starting with episode 12 Homefront.
Homefront
To say Batman was pissed was an understatement. This is the reason why. He gets to the cave and the place is ransacked and there are scorch marks from all over the place. That wasn't what bothered him; no it was his son lying on the floor soaking wet and lifeless.
Batman ran to his son. He would never admit it, but he was scared, what scared him the most was the fact that he couldn't tell whether or not Dick was breathing. Artemis was sitting there with tears streaming down her face the others, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Aqualad all had worried expressions on their faces.
"I tried CPR, n-nothing's working. H-he's not breathing."
He looked at her.
"How long?"
"One minute."
He almost stopped breathing himself. He had to find a way to get his son to breathe. He placed both hands on the boy's chest and pushed down on his chest. Nothing. He repeated the same motion a second time. He was rewarded with a cough from Robin. Then another and masked eyes slowly opened. The boy looked at Artemis and gave her a pained smiled.
"Way to get traught, Arty."
"Now isn't the time for word-play."
The boy looked towards his adoptive-father. Only he saw the worry in the older man's face, to anyone else it looked like anger.
"I'm fine. Figured my only chance was to surrender, pretend to drown before I actually did. Blacked out though."
"Well good job at pretending."
"Don't every do that again."
Robin cracked another smile on his face.
"Correction, whelming job of pretending."
"But it was fun."
In truth Robin was trying to hide how scared he had been. Besides falling, drowning was his biggest fear. The experience had been terrifying. His lungs burning for air, the pressure of the water on his chest. All he really wanted to do was curl up under his blankets at Wayne Manor and never come out. Batman noticed this and picked his son up bridal style. All the other heroes in the room let out a sigh of relief, they knew Robin was okay and that was all that mattered.
Wayne Manor: Gotham City, New York
The minute that Batman walked out of the zeta tubes Robin gave him a hug. The thirteen year-old wrapped his arms around Batman's waist hold on as tight as he could. Sobs were escaping his mouth and tears were cascading down his face. Batman in turn wrapped his arms around the trembling boy and whispered soothing words to him.
"I was scared. I couldn't breathe. Everything hurt. Tati. I was scared, so scared."
Batman held the boy closer.
"It's okay Dickie. You're home now, you're safe."
The boy cried himself to sleep and Batman held the boy close as he fell asleep also.
A/N: Yay. I think that was pretty good. I love Batman and Robin father son moments.
