Just Another Jedi

A long time ago, in a galaxy, far, far away. Particularly in the Outer Rim, on Dantooine in 17 BBY during the Battle of Dantooine.

Darth Vader landed his TIE-fighter, exited, and began to walk along the ranks of the 501st legion, along them, 4 stormtroopers with a man dressed in rebel clothes in binders approached him.

"Lord Vader, we caught this Rebel General" said one of them as Vader was observing the General. The man reminded of someone he has seen before, that lithe and tall figure of the General and his rough, worn feature made Vader remember that the General was in fact General Rahm Kota; one of the most passionate fighters opposing to the Empire.

"Good. Leave him to me now" Vader replied

He got him at lightsaber point and led him in an Imperial Fortress.

"Talk to me !" said Vader coldly

"I know nothing. I have no plans of any kind. Your spies are stupid" General Kota laughed

"If you don't speak, I'll accuse you of betrayal and execute you publicly" Vader threatened Kota

"Go ahead and kill me. I'd be a very happy Force Ghost" replied Kota

"I'll give you 10 Electrum bars" sad Vader, he knew that bribing was working on everyone

"I really couldn't ask for anything more than my militia" said Kota

At the moment some saboteurs broke in with the help of a heavy trooper and his rocket launcher. They began shooting Vader, who ignited his lightsaber and deflected the shots away, as he was busy deflecting them, General Kota was making his escape. Vader force-gripped him and was chocking him. Kota lit his lightsaber and cut off Vader's arm, without any remorse once it was a cybernetic anyway. General left in a hurry along with his troops.

"May your meddling will be no more" Vader said and left to infiltrate a rebel base.

As Vader was walking to the rebel base he felt a tremor in the Force and headed to the direction it was coming from, behind a tree. Vader walked to it.

"A baby !" he said surprised and continued "It's strong in the Force"

The baby was sleeping in the basket, there was a note, Vader grabbed it and read it inside of him "This is Rebeth Suwatcher, whoever find her please take good take care of her and..."the message stopped there, the flimsi it was written on was stained with blood. The baby's parents must have written this while hiding, then they must have been found and killed.

"You shall join me in the Dark Side of the Force" said Vader

2 BBY in Death Star I. Rebeth was reading a flimsi book about "Navigation in Lightspeed" Lord Vader came in.

"Rebeth" he said attracting her attention "The Force is strong with you"

Rebeth's face paled in fear

"I'm sorry my Lord, it was an accident. It won't happen again"

"You incinerated that trooper" he replied

"I'm sorry, I just couldn't control my rage" she replied. That moment her navigation teacher came in

"Did you read chapter XVIII ?"

"Yes, sir" she replied

"Today we are going a trip at the TIE-factory, you'll fly for the first time a TIE-fighter" her teacher said

"What time ?" she asked excited

"Well, it's midday, how about in 30 minutes ?" asked the teacher and Rebeth nodded her head in agreement

"Great" replied Lord Vader. The navigation teacher left and the door closed behind him

"The rage is the power of the Sith. If you become a Sith, you'll unstoppable" said Vader

Rebeth was watching him interested

"Could I be feared, like you ?" she asked hesitantly looking at her shiny black boots and then back at what part of Vader's mask was covering his eyes.

"Of course. We could rule the galaxy together. You're very strong in the Dark Side of the Force. Come with me. I shall teach you how to use the Force"

Rebeth followed him in one of the warehouses

"Pick those boxes with the Force, focus on them"

She has seen him doing that before and she did the same. She extended her hand towards the crates, she couldn't do or feel anything.

"I can't do it. The crates aren't Force-sensitive, I can't affect them"

"Of course you can" he replied "Just focus"

She tried again, she clenched her teeth but nothing.

"I'm focusing, my brain will explode if I focus any more. I just can't affect them" she apologized

"If in front of you was that trooper, wouldn't you like to beat him on the ceiling and then throw him on the floor ?" asked Vader

"Of course !"she chuckled. She turned to face the crates again, she closed her eyes and imagined that trooper she had incinerated talking to her, telling her that she'll never be capable of navigating a TIE-fighter.

"Gaaaaaaaaah" she screamed, a cry of fury, she Force-gripped the crate hit it on the ceiling, throw it on the floor, hitting the left and the right wall with it.

"Excellent" said Darth Vader plainly, smiling pleased under his mask. Rebeth just left the crate in the middle of the room, she pushed it away, by a torrent of Force. Trying to please and impress her master.

"Beginning tomorrow you'll start your lightsaber training" said Vader as he was leaving he turned on his lightsaber, looked back at her, then continued walking and he switched his lightsaber off. 25 minutes later, Rebeth walked to the nearest elevator and descended to the hangar bay, where her navigation teacher was waiting for her by a Lambda-calss shuttle. When he saw her coming, he nodded to her to follow him. Rebeth walked to and on the ramp. The ramp closed behind her. She sat by her teacher at the cockpit.

"Fasten your seatbelt. We will jump to lightspeed" ordered her teacher, as soon as they took off and were in space.

Rebeth did as she was asked to do.

After several minutes, the shuttle was back in realspace.

"And that's Nal Hutta" said her teacher

"The planet of the ugliest, vilest gangsters in the universe !" she said cynically, as she was straightening her imperial cadet shirt and her teacher nodded in agreement

"Just don't tell them that. Unless you want to be treated like their Twi' Lek slaves" said her teacher and continued "And that's the TIE-factory!" he pointed at a metal object orbiting above the planet.

Inside the TIE-factory...

"General, there's a shuttle coming our way" said a rebel trooper

"It must be a running-late employee. Open deck 7" ordered General Kota.

The shuttle landed. The ramp was lowered. The teacher and his pupil walked out of the shuttle.

"Too much silence today" said Rebeth sad, seeing no stormtroopers running around.

"That's loneliness, not silence" her teacher corrected her

Suddenly a voice boomed from the speakers : "Welcome, the TIE-factory is now under the Rebellion. We mean no harm to you, unless provoked" finished the voice and the speakers were quiet again.

"We should maintain a low profile" said to Rebeth her teacher, as they got into the elevator to see the process of making a TIE-fighter.

"Could we see how the TIE-inteceptor and TIE-bombers are made too ?" asked Rebeth spinning a lock of her hair in her fingers

"Of course" answered her teacher

After a couple of hours, another shuttle has landed. A man holding 2 lightsabers approached and began slaying the rebel troopers. That moment a dozen stormtroopers have been sent out to stop the maniac. The man killed them too. The rebel captain along with some imperial officers watched the carnage, in silence caused by terror. That man had no side, he fought with passion both imperials and rebels. No one would get out of that alive.

Meanwhile, Rebeth and her teacher, were taking a tour of the administration offices. 1 floor above the actual factory, was where the fighters, bombers and interceptors were made. And 2 floors above the slaughter.

"Did you like our tour in the heart of the factory ?" her teacher smiled

"Yes ! Who would believe that a new TIE-fighter or TIE-inteceptor, only needs 10 seconds to be made !" said Rebeth excited, till a wave of sorrow stroke her, and tears began rolling from her eyes.

"What is it ?" asked her teacher worried

"I don't know, I suddenly feel depressed, I don't know why" she said

Suddenly screams could be heard from a distance.

"I think I know why you are sad. Someone just died. Lord Vader must have followed us and he decided to "evaluate" his employees...By chocking them" said her teacher looking in the distance to spot Vader. He saw a red lightsaber. Moving very fast. The screams were now closer and closer.

"That doesn't seem like Lord Vader !" he said as a flash of red light rushed past them. Rebeth opened her eyes still crying. Her teacher was cut in half, and in the middle of a blood pond stood the man with the lightsaber. He saw the girl crying and he left. She had stopped crying, she stood silent and stared at her teacher's body. Then she looked again at the murderer, who was killing everyone on his way. The man got in an elevator and went to the floor above. As Rebeth was walking in the administration offices, with her eyes completely dried by the shock she was still in, she heard a noise, coming from far above. She rushed to the elevator, got in and went up. She went in the observatory tower. She hid behind a desk. She looked around and, she saw a man, General Kota and the murderer she has seen before. The man, General Kota said to the murderer

"Vader sent a boy to fight me...!"

Starkiller attacked him. Rebeth was still hiding behind her desk, of a commander probably. At one moment General and Starkiller were face to face, General was blocking Starkiller's attack with his lightsaber, Kota looked deep into Starkiller's eyes, General's eyes widened of surprise.

"I...can see your future...and Vader won't always be your master...I can only see...me !" he said. Starkiller was outraged.

"RAAAAARGH" Starkiller let a war cry, and pushed his lightsaber against Kota's, he pushed it so much that Kota's lightsaber touched his face, burning his eyes. Starkiller Force-grabbed the desk Rebeth was hiding behind, Rebeth realizing what he was about to do Force-grabbed it and was pulling it to herself.

"Leave the desk down, pity the poor man !" she yelled

"Never, he wants to kill my master !" Starkiller shouted

"He is blind already...just let him be" she said, General Kota smiling, as he felt the force of Jedi master Yddet Wyndthian and Jedi knight Londy Sunwatcher. He knew they were married, he guessed she was their child, and he was correct as the Force never lies. He smiled because he felt that even though these were dark times and with darkness all around her, she still had a good heart.

Starkiller had let the desk to her and was about to Force-push her out of the observatory, the moment Rebeth unleashed a torrent of lightnings upon him as he threw Force upon her. Rebeth crushed upon the glass wall. Kota felt the threat that man was presenting.

"You're stronger than I thought, but I can't let you live, boy. I'll be sure to send your ashes back to Vader" said Kota Force-crashing the observatory as he was doing that the glass floor broke and a hole was made in the middle of it, causing it to drop from the tower it was and it was falling upon Nar-Shaada. Starkiller was shocked and surprised, but he focused on his mission on killing Kota, he threw him up the ceiling, stabbed him and Force-pushed him down the hole.

"Noooo!" Rebeth shouted and fell down in the hole after the man. They were falling for quite a while and General found the chance to find out more about his backer, so he begun talking to her.

"I heard you are the daughter of Londy & Yddet" said Kota

"I don't know. Lord Vader told me I was found on Dantooine...that's all I know...By the way who are you ?" said Rebeth curiously

"I'm Rebel General Rahm Kota" answered Kota

"Do you know me ?" asked Rebeth

"Yes, you're Rebeth Sunwatcher...daughter of Jedi Knight Londy Sunwatcher and Jedi Master Yddet Wyndthian, padawans to Qui-Gon Jinn"

Suddenly they both fell on a speeder.

"AAAH" said Rebeth, General just groaned a bit, he was used to pain after all what he went through during the Order 66

"Oh my Force ! Are you ok ?" said the female zabrak driving the speeder

"We're fine, drive us to the closest spaceport" said General

Kota jumped to the backseat and Rebeth walked to it.

"Hold on" she said flooring the gas pedals, the turbo engines' fire turned white from the previous orange color and the fire got bigger as she drove to the express lane above.

Much later back at Death Star I

"She betrayed me !" shouted Vader into his deep, breathy, voice while examining Kota's lightsaber, that Starkiller gave him

"She must be dead, just like the General" said Starkiller reassuringly

"I don't worry for either of them. Our worry at the moment is Kazdan Paratus, at Raxus Prime. Now go and be victorious" said Vader

Starkiller bowed to his master and left. Outside Proxy was waiting for him. Behind Starkiller the doors closed.

"Master, your master has given you a hard task. I'm afraid that you'll die before I kill you" said Proxy

"Don't worry Proxy, you'll eventually get your chance...now, off we go" said Starkiller

Back in Nar Shaada, into General's starship

"Where are we heading to ?" asked Rebeth

"That answer depends on you" said Kota and continued "Do you want to serve the Empire or do you want to defend the innocent ?"

"Hm...let's just fly back to Death Star, I don't want to disappoint Vader. He was like my father...he paid the best teachers to teach me...I can't do this to him" said Rebeth

"In that case fly us back to Death Star" said Kota

"Ok" she said sadly, she would do her best in memory of her teacher, her eyes swelled and got wet. She tried not to weep and she blinked her eyes fast so that no tear would get out of her eyes.

Rebeth, remembering from the lessons she took, lit the engine and the repulsorlifts, after the ship levitated, she switched the repulsorlifts off and flew in the sky and into space. The spaceship was approaching Death Star, a swarm of TIE-fighters began shooting at them. A loud bang was heard and the spaceship shook

"Oops ! We've been hit on the left wing" said Rebeth panicked

"Shoot them back !" ordered Kota

"I haven't learnt to shoot yet !" explained Rebeth

"Do you see a flashing orange button ?" said Kota

"Yes..." said Rebeth

"Press it !" ordered Kota

She pressed it and a couple of canons came out from inside the wings.

"Ok I got them in my screen...now what ?" she asked

"On top of the navigation joysticks are a couple of red buttons, press them to fire" said Kota

She pressed the buttons and shot the one TIE-fighter in her screen then she turned the ship till she had all of the swarm in her screen

"Gotcha !" she whispered

After shooting down the TIE-fighters she decided to leave.

"Where are you going ?" asked Kota

"We aren't welcome here, so I leave. Where are we heading to now ?" she asked

"Would you like me to train you ?" asked Kota

"Well, I have nothing better to do" she answered

"Then we should go to Arkania" he told her and continued"We need to go to Corellia first"

"Um...why ?" asked Rebeth

"Arkania is a very cold planet, and in Corellia they have the best quality clothes not only will they keep us warm, they will also last for quite some time too" he told her

"Okay then" she made a U-turn and headed to Corellia.
