A/N Decided to do a one-shot between Ryu and Hayate. As friends or brothers not as a yaoi couple(it disturbs me kinda), not a big fan of yaoi or yuri yes I said it sorry to all of those who read this and are. So yeah updates on other fics to come just in the mood to write some one-shots.

Ryu and Hayate do not belong to no one. They killed Youske Hayashi and are now not owned by Temco Koei or anyone cause they kicked Youske Hayashi's ass. Do not sue me, I'm not writing this for money

Brothers

Ryu Hayabusa was laying in pain, although the curse from his arm was gone, his body and dragon ninja blood were still in pain after fighting a fiend vampire army. His best friend Hayate took him back to the Mugen Tenshin village to take care of him, and lectured him the entire way home about being so reckless. Ryu didn't really care, he was just happy his best friend was with him and that he had gone on the mission with him, because if he hadn't Ryu would not know where he would be right now. Ryu made fun of him by calling him his mother's child, even though, he could barely move, he hated Hayate trying to lecture him. The two were now back at the Mugen Tenshin Village, where Ryu was still hurt. Hayate had come in to see what was wrong.

" Hayate get out, I didn't order room service, and your not a maid."

" Ryu, just shut up for once, I came to check on you, that vampire bit you really bad, how is your body holding up."

" Well, mother, it's holding up, because unlike you I go through this on a weekly basis on missions."

" Haha very funny, but this is not a laughing matter Ryu, your hurt and what would have happened if I was not there?"

" If you weren't there, then I would not have to worry about your ass, I could have taken them all on myself, besides it was me who saved you from being bitten, because if you were, Ayane and Kasumi would be all over you saying, " Oh, ni-san let me give you a sponge-bath or Ryu you idiot because of you Hayate got hurt."

Hayate had gotten really quiet after Ryu's response, Ryu hit him hard with that statement, because Kasumi had ran away from the clan and Hayate was forced to send assassins on her daily. Also, Ayane joined in the hunt for Kasumi, Hayate's entire family was divided. His father had told him it was the right thing to do while his mother, could not stand the fact that her daughter was being hunted down by her older brother.

" Hayate you know I didn't mean it like that."

" Well you said it Ryu, good job."

" Come on Hayate you know I didn't mean it like that, look I really do appreciate you helping me recently, I was just looking out for you by taking the hit. Your one hell of a leader Hayate and a best friend."

" Thanks Ryu, but still, it's because of me Kasumi is being hunted, it's because of me my father and mother will not talk to each other, I'm a failure as a shinobi and as a leader."

" No you are not, your just beating yourself up for no reason, the Hayate I know is strong, brave, and wise."

" Thanks Ryu."

" Not to mention stubborn and is a mama's boy."

" Very funny Ryu, but I have a serious question to ask you, do you think I can find the answer to everyone's problems?"

" What do you mean?"

" What I'm talking about is will I be able to somehow ever reunite Kasumi with the clan, or get my parents to actually love each other, or Kasumi and Ayane to love each other?"

" Hayate you can't force these things you know, the way of the shinobi is harsh, I know you have a lot of loved ones who are still alive, and it is the love for them which is your greatest, but it is the love for them that also your greatest weakness."

" Ryu, explain, you sound like Yoda right now"

" Hayate what I'm trying to say is, your trying to make everyone happy, Kasumi, Ayane, your father Shiden, your mother Ayame, and the fate of everyone in your village, it is impossible, sometimes you need to make sacrifices, or you need to just let go. Think inside your heart about what is truly right, and not in your head about what you feel that the council think is right."

" Alright, I think I know what I must do now, and thank you Ryu, for always being there for me, not just as a best friend, but, as an older brother."

" Oh so your calling me your older brother now, do you want me to teach you how to pick up girls and how to use a condom? I'm just kidding Hayate, glad I could help, I mean I hope you make the right choice, because I have made many wrong choices in my life.

" Ryu, I know you, you are the wisest, strongest, and best shinobi to ever walk the face of the earth, you have saved the world more times then I can count, if theres anyone who has made the wrong choices in life, it's me."

" Alright, alright, let's stop beating each other up now, let me get some sleep Hayate. Also, you should cook your big brother some food when I wake up."

" Sure, my treat, it's the least I can do for the advice you gave me."

Hayate left Ryu to go get some sleep, but instead of making him food, there was one thing that he had to do. Hayate taking Ryu's word into deep consideration would make the right choice and not let the Mugen Tenshin council push him around anymore, he would find the will and way to bring his family all back together. His father, his mother, his two sisters, and the dragon ninja, a man who he considered to be his older brother and best friend.

I have no problem reading it, but, I just personally am not a big fan of it and feel that I could not write it for it would change my outlook on the character.
