So.. this is my first fanfic, and I don't own Mass Effect...yep
It was the final hour.
It was the hour that will determine the fate of almost every single sentient being in the galaxy.
Every single thing that I've done has lead to this point.
Flashbacks of the past suddenly appeared in my vision. I saw myself roaming around the wards of the Citadel, searching for a way to show that Saren had betrayed everything that the word "Specter" stood for.
I found myself standing next to an eager Grunt, grinning as he held his shotgun and charged into a wave of collector drones, easily dispatching them. Thane killed another, launching the insects into the air and shooting them without emotion.
The vehicle crashing into the ground snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked to the left of the vehicle, and saw Tali and Garrus looking at me, preparing for the worst of the battle. Looking out at the battlefield, I saw a reaper, staring down at us as if it was physically able to make a menacing look. Smoke rose up to the sky, filling Earth with a sense of dread, replacing a feeling of life. Similar twins of the Mako rushed passed me, rushing towards the beam of the crucible, hoping to just end it all; the death, the destruction, and the lost.
I rushed toward the crucible's lift, dodging the large beams that attempted to take my life, until I was finally hit.
I woke up seeing the reaper leaving the conduit. My armor was scorched, pain engulfed my body, encircling it and becoming more of a presence with each movement. I looked in the opposite direction, and saw…nothing. There was no Garrus, no Tali, or anything in this manner. I was alone.
Too much was taken from me in this god-forsaken cycle. I had to end it all. I rushed forward…
"So…you and Tali ditched the Commander, and somehow boarded the Normandy as it jumped the relay?…"
"Believe me, I was ready to fight, but you should have seen the size of that reaper! Shepard is probably dead." said Garrus in a voice that seemed out of character. He looked around at his surroundings near the Normandy crash site. With no food that could be consumed by Turians or Quarians, the two deserters were probably screwed.
Somehow he believed that Shepard looking down on them from the bar in the sky, flipping them off, and laughing at their fate….
Of course, he probably was.
